The reason is to why I'm not recommending this restaurant it's because it's notorious for always being closed indoors. Note it doesn't close til 7pm. They always have a sign at the door that says drive thru open only. Like how lazy are the staff. As for the food: it's yummy! I got the chicken fries. This is a specific review of the new vegetarian burger being sold at Burger King (BK). I went to the BK in Sun Lakes and asked for this and they replied they just got them in stock. I ordered onion rings, and they became fries, but lets stick to the matter at hand. The veggie burger was very good... cooked well (for vegetables anyway) and the flavor was surprisingly good. I often get disappointed with Burger King. That said, the only times I go is when the coupons make their rounds. For me, what defines fast food is speed and consistency. For the most part, I never really have an issue with speed but I feel Burger Kings lack consistency. The variation between location to location is so great, it often feels like I'm rolling dice. While I feel most BKs fail to deliver, this location could be an exception. I've been to this location 3 times and every time, the food was surprisingly...good. While a total sample size of 3 doesn't really qualify as anything statistically significant, it's pretty good for BK. I got the two chicken sandwiches and two small fries the first time around. The sandwiches were piping hot and the fries were fresh out of the fryer. The chicken sandwich was crispy and juicy. I've never had a juicy chicken sandwich from BK in my life. Second time around, I got two Whoppers and two small fries. The produce in the burger was fresh and the fries were hot. One of the batches had an ever so slight rancid oil smell that most likely stemmed from constantly reusing old oil, but I've had way worse from other BK locations. Still edible and not really something to complain about but worth mentioning. Lastly, I got the two chicken sandwiches and two small fries again. Sandwiches still had a nice and crispy exterior and a juicy interior. This time, the fries didn't have that oil taste. They were very good. The few times I went was during the evening and they were moderately busy. I'm not typically a fast food person but if BK is on my mind, this will be my default location. read more

The snowbirds are back to the Sun Lakes area in force and the inept and overwhelmed staff at this Burger King couldn't handle it. Not that they were that busy but these guys needed about 20 minutes per order and were only hitting accuracy at about 40% or so. I haven't been to a BK in a long time so my FFF radar was down (Fast Food Fubar). A buy one get one coupon lured us in. I actually felt bad for one guy that seemed to be in charge. My daughter and I stood back and watched the carnage for the first fifteen minutes waiting for our order. Then we received our sandwiches that were not the right sandwiches. Then we returned them and waited some more. Then we just got a refund and left. But during that time we watched the cashier wander around and attempt to help in a hesitant fashion as if she had never been behind the counter before. The one guy in the kitchen seemed overwhelmed, easily confused and uncertain what the difference was between say bacon, sausage and eggs. And the guy I felt bad for kept flitting from the drive up "Oh my God that guy has been waiting 14 minutes!" to the kitchen "No, this goes here. We're out of biscuits! Definately tasted pretty gross to me. The cheese was not melted on a single one. Fries were good and hot at least. Cheap meal but over the top poor quality or presentation. Perceptions is that the place could be cleaner. Order on phone for pickup or delivery? Forget it! Answer machine picks up. They MAY return the call in 2 or 3 hours if at all. I ordered a $15 family pack meal, and paid for delivery. The employees obviously had no clue what goes in it, so I ended up with more than half my order missing. I called immediately, the managers option was drive the 5 miles, and get the missing food. I paid for delivery so this was impossible. I gave him my name and number, and was assured the GM would call me in the morning. By 3pm no call, so I called, and talked to Fernando the GM. I told him over half my food was missing, and wanted a refund. He told me he couldn't help me! Wow... and you're in customer service? An older man went back up to the counter with his fries. 3 women at the counter walked past him, without even acknowledging him. When one of the girls stopped and looked at him. He asked for some hot fries as his were cold. She replied with an Ummm..I don't know. This chick decided she would just carry them in the metal fry scoop to the counter, dumped out the cold fries and then refilled the Used fry cups! Touching the scoop to both used cups! That's not really the end of her and the metal scoop tho.. she stayed at the counter with it as she was talking to the other girls and it was bouncing around in her hands. Yuk! I saw someone mention this in a previous review and I had a similar experience. The staff was inside the store, I knew this BK was open but they just simply didn't want to take my order. I said hello quite a few times and nothing. I pulled around and I passed the windows but then come to my surprise they're in the kitchen on their phones!! Ridiculous. I even went at 6 pm once and they said they can't make veggie burgers that late, nobody was around and I assumed they just didn't want to take the time to do that. So, I placed an order through the Burger King app for the location at 9668 E Riggs rd. in Sun Lakes, AZ. since this location is open until midnight; this was at about 9:10p. My order went through, that's to say my payment was accepted. After driving the 16 mi to the restaurant, I'm met with a sign written in marker that says "Sorry we are closed". I understand new hires are hard to come by but please change your hours online. More to the point, please don't accept payment for orders that can obviously not be filled.
