As a Chicago boy eating Chicago beef all my life I got the authentic beef dipped with hot peppers. Compared to portillos the beef is not as tender and has a sliced pot roast texture. The bread is fresh, chewy and denser and holds up too well because it didn't soggy the bread how I like it. The hot peppers are noticeable hotter with my running nose. Overall the two Chicago chains are doing Chicago beefs slightly different but they are still very good in different ways, Side note Oak Creek WI will get one soon which would be an hour round trip for me so unless I was in Oak Creek I will probably not get to this chain often when Portillos is 10 minutes round trip.
