I have been hating this place for awhile because I kept getting social media adds all the time when one is no where around me. While in Lake Geneva I searched the area for lunch and there is a restaurant .02 miles from me. The place has a decor with a fun vibe. They even have an ice cream shop in it. The menu is huge compared to the Pottillos Chicago chain. The employees are chick fil a friendly I noticed with every employee I encountered acknowledging me, how one chain set the bar and people notice when it comes from another chain. As a Chicago boy eating Chicago beef all my life I got the authentic beef dipped with hot peppers. Compared to portillos the beef is not as tender and has a sliced pot roast texture. The bread is fresh, chewy and denser and holds up too well because it didn't soggy the bread how I like it. The hot peppers are noticeable hotter with my running nose. Overall the two Chicago chains are doing Chicago beefs slightly different but they are still very good in different ways, Side note Oak Creek WI will get one soon which would be an hour round trip for me so unless I was in Oak Creek I will probably not get to this chain often when Portillos is 10 minutes round trip. read more

Date of visit: December 6, 2024 We've driven past the Pleasant Prairie location a few times but as my husband isn't a roast/italian beef fan, we never stopped. But while meeting a friend near Lake Geneva, he suggested this place and we confirmed that the menu had chicken, decided to give it a try. The location appears quite new and has the bright, shiny feel about it that confirms that thought. Staff was overall friendly and welcoming, and I appreciated both the displayed menus and the kiosks for us newbies to get a feel for the food and the ordering. I went with the cheese beef and thought it was quite good. My only issue was there were a couple green peppers hidden in the sandwich--thankfully I caught them first, but this would have been a significantly lower-rated review if I hadn't! The fries were much better than I expected them to be given their appearance, which resembles Culver's, but I loathe the thick, mushy fries that Culver's serves; this is leaps and bounds superior to Culver's fries! I am a sucker for a milkshake and tried the peppermint because it is the current limited flavor. If you love candy canes, you will leave your spouse for this shake. If you're just so so on candy canes (like me), your marriage will be none the worse for this shake and you'll wish you tried the peanut butter instead. Only other issue here was when the food was brought out. Two staffers brought us an extra sandwich and both seemed inordinately confused about how that could have happened and what to do about it, making for an awkward 90 seconds of everyone looking at each other, both us and them, before we got out the receipt and confirmed that the three people in our party did not order four entrees. read more

This place can get busy, but the food is good. The restaurant is nice and has the ice cream place attached to it. We have never tried the ice cream, Rainbow Cone, only just had Buona. The staff is always wonderful and it well managed. The place is clean and they are cleaning up tables and sanitizing them down. The soda area can get messy but employees are swift to acknowledge and clean it up. The food is always hot and we have never had something we didn't like from here. The gravy bread is a must if you are getting a salad or soup. Love that they even have pizza. The menu offerings are great and feed even the picky eaters haha! Parking can be tight at this location, but we definitely enough the food here. Will definitely keep visiting. read more

My first time trying this restaurant. And im SO GLAD I did!! The beef is amazing!! Didn't really care for the aujus tho, wasn't terrible but wasn't like I was used too. Delicious, fresh, made to order and LOADED!!! I'm keto, so this was ordered without the pasta and tortilla strips. Also subbed the house dressing for Caesar. Went through the drive thru, quick process and was ready at the window (vs having to park and wait). Friendly cashier. I think this is very close to my ultimate favorite Portillo's chopped salad, but way, way closer in distance for me. Will try more of their options! Been regularly eating here once a week. Tonight's quality on food was disappointing. Ordered two beef's in drive thru and ultimately both got thrown out because a long hair was found in one after 1st bite pulled out halfway down throat. Couldn't bring ourselves to eat the other one (could you blame us?) May not return to this location unless this is resolved. read more

I ordered the Italian roast beef sandwich with it dipped in the gravy. The gravy was too spicy with red pepper flakes. Not edible for me. Next time I will order it with extra cheese and try the gravy on the side, just in case. read more

This is the "go to" place for Italian beef for years. Food is tasty and the staff is friendly. This is a brand, new location, just opened for a couple weeks. Not to mention immaculately clean. Not a big fan of the Rainbow Cone! I wish they would've put Pizza in this location. I've been to locations that have it. Seating inside and outside, and plenty of parking. Job well done. read more

Appearance was good there were children yelling and screaming on and off but it was mostly clean and very well detailed and designed. There was loud music in the outdoor seating area. I got a Starry fountain drinks and it had little to no flavor and lots of carbonated water. Ordered a margarita pizza which tasted amazing. Confusing texture but great smell. This was our second visit. Our first visit was great so we came back only two weeks later. Our challenge is finding a restaurant where I can find things to eat. Certain health problems and food allergies tend to be problematic. I ordered the Avocado Strawberry Salad but was surprised to see that the chicken was fried. This is definitely not on my list of safe foods. The written menus at the entrance gave no hint of fried chicken nor did the board that I saw at the front of the restaurant. Only online did I later see the phrase "crispy fried chicken". I don't believe this is a normal ingredient in a strawberry avocado salad which is usually a very healthy salad. A deviation of this sort should be highlighted rather than ignored by your menu. Don't get me wrong: I have no problem with your food, your food is great. It's your menu descriptions need work, in my opinion. read more
