It's a charming little roadside parlour, more of a grab-and-go kind of place, with a few benches set up in the open field next to the shop. If the weather's nice, it's the perfect spot to enjoy your food outdoors. We tried the seasonal special -- banana pudding ice cream -- and it was absolutely delicious. They have a full menu but we went only for dessert and landed on delicious ice cream and yummy donut type things called widgets. We dipped the widgets in chocolate ice cream and it was almost a DIY churro thing happening. It's drive through or walk up only. Was staying in Fontana and on my way to the nearby grocery store saw the sign for Meggy Moo's and was of course delighted as my wife's name is Meg. We did happen to stop by for ice cream just before they closed on Sunday. They had a soy based non dairy/vegan ice cream for those in our group with those sensitivities, but also a good selection of other ice cream for the rest of us. This little old school-style roadside food stand has what you'd expect of its ilk: Burgers, hot dogs, ice cream, cheese curds, and so on. My favorite thing to get here are the widgets, and I like the sugar covered ones best. They have a bunch of picnic tables and more parking than you'd expect. Even though I didn't grow up in the Midwest if it's the sort if place that makes me nostalgic, thinking of warm spring and summer nights back home in Oregon (the state, not the towns in Illinois or Wisconsin). I moved out of Wi in 1997. This was one of my childhood favorite places to get ice cream, widgets and burgers. I recently came home to visit and came to this place almost every single day. I'm happy the new owners haven't changed much about the place. I actually love the Cow touch to the establishment. The ice cream, burgers and especially the sugar widgets did not disappoint. We are sad we are back home and can't come here. All the ladies working were sweet. The place was always very busy! I am very disappointed! My family and I were trying to call in and they proceeded to tell us that they were not taking any call in orders because they were to busy. The whole point of calling in, is to not have to be around all the Illinois people while continuing to social distance. Instead we opted for Culver's and as we passed by there was maybe two people in line. This establishment changed owners and names in 2015, so any reviews from 2013 and 2014 are about a completely different place. I wanted to give this place 2 stars based on our lunch today, but I gave it one more star because its new and it does have potential to be great. The burgers were good quality, but they were so messy we could hardly eat them. I got a single, so it was okay, but my fiance got a double and quit half-way through out of frustration. Fries are acceptable. McDonalds cut with some seasoning. The shakes were basically blizzards without the candy and they didn't come with spoons, so it was a struggle. The flavor of the shakes was really good though, and they were great once they melted. Hopefully they'll get their feet under them and hire more staff and get into the swing of things. read more

Usually a great way to find the best place in town is to follow the tradesmen off of their lunch break. That holds true for Meggy Moo's. I got there right at 11 and placed my order. By 11:15, there was 10 guys in line to order one of the signature burgers. I opted for the the Gyro and it blew my socks off. The fries are outstanding, well seasoned... On the menu, there were many flavors of scooped ice cream, yet when I tried to order, she told me that the only kind they had was chocolate brownie fudge. I was a little iffy on the new management, but I still wanted to give it a try. My boyfriend and I went to have dinner in the evening. It was gorgeous out so we were able to sit out side. The owner did get new picnic tables, all very nice and simple. I got a cheese burger and he got an Italian beef. My burger was amazing, using much better beef and the buns where just out of this world good. I believe the girl at the window said they were from a small business bakery right in Lake Geneva. My boyfriend's beef was smaller than it used to be but from what he said it was much better and more filling. all in all, they are doing pretty good, the prices have dropped with better quality food and I hope to see them doing well!
