Went to pick up a to go order. When I called to place the order, I first confirmed they were abiding by and enforcing the COVID safety guidelines. When I went to pick up my to go order inside (they wouldn't bring it out), A guy in what looked like their uniform walked right by me with no mask on less than 2 feet away. I asked the guy that was ringing me up for my order if the guy that just walked past was an employee. Here's how the rest of the conversation went: "Yes he works here why?" Me: "He wasn't wearing a mask" "Oh he's just leaving" Me: "How is that relevant? He just walked within 2 feet of me and other people" The guy just shrugged his shoulders. It's obvious they don't care about their customers and there is no solid leadership training the staff and enforcing the rules. I've been eating at Burger Lounge for years from time to time! But of all the Burger Lounges I've visited throughout Southern California, this Costa Mesa location really stands out. The service is always so great here and the food comes out absolutely hot, fresh and delicious. The Double Lounge Burger would absolutely qualify as one of my final meal recommendations. It's a sin to get it without caramelized onion. I also love the white cheddar cheese. This is one of my favorite burgers of all time and I've had my fair share! I also love that they offer a half and half fries and onion rings side. More places need to get with this program! Sometimes I love having fries and onion rings at the same time. I do wish their ranch and ketchup containers were a little bit bigger because that ranch is pretty great. Also, for us Diet Coke heads, they have Diet Coke. This is pretty significant because they carry Batch craft sodas, which taste pretty good. But as we all know, Diet Coke (not Diet Pepsi or knock-off diet sodas) just hit in a certain way with a burger and Burger Lounge understands that. Props to them! read more

I absolutely love the taste of grass fed beef and this has become my favorite go-to burger joint every time I'm in Costa Mesa. Fries are really good too, buns are soft and tasty. Came here tonight after work to try this place since i heard so much about it. I can honestly say it did not disappoint. Got the Lounge Burger with half fries and half Onion Rings. Very pleased with all three. The burger was fresh and filling. I can definitely taste the quality of the grass fed beef. Didn't leave me feeling all gross and heavy afterwards. The onion rings were not the best I've ever had but they were good enough. A little overcooked. The fries are definitely better! Especially with ranch. The service was also the best. Went in for a little lunch because a friend told us this was the "best vegan burger in town". Well that might be a bit of a stretch.....but it was good. The hubby had a true Beef burger and we had 2 vegan burgers. The vegan option is made with quinoa which makes for a bit of a messy burger. They really don't hold their shape very well but did have a good flavor. Also loved all the veggies on their burgers and did not know you can also do a lettuce wrap burger and avoid the bun altogether. On w-t-f aka Wednesday, Thursday and Friday they do an $11 special with is called the half and half so you get a burger and 1/2 fires and 1/2 onion rings. Both were cooked well and tasty! Also love that they have 2 grills so your Vegan option does not go on the same grill as the Beef or Turkey burgers! I want to start by saying this review is strictly based on the staff as their food is delicious which is what inspires me to return.On multiple occasions the staff has lacked energy, enthusiasm and failure to provide information on the ordering process.For starters their burgers do not come with a side such as fries etc unless you order them.Now I personally have never eaten at a burger restaurant that does things this way but so be it no big deal however none of the associates ask you for add ons,sides,sauces,drinks etc.I have had one employee ask those questions and she was fantastic.The other employees usually stare out the window or talk to the table runners near the kitchen while you ponder the menu.Next is they often will walk around but do not check in on their customers.Finally,today first thing myself and other customers behind me were greeted with was "Just letting you know the wait is going to be 20 minutes or more due to training in the kitchen"Not a hello or I apologize however we are backed up in the kitchen today but due to lack of planning for their new hire training now you are losing business from several customers by starting out your greeting with an extended wait time. Most of the customers that came to the register left because of the wait time. Mind you the restaurant was almost empty. Training or not You should still strive to meet as well business needs as well as try to retain every dollar into your business rather than pushing people away with a negative greeting . I hate ranch and I was thinking I should had got the ranch with them. I LOVE bbq sauce and this isn't bbq sauce almost seemed like it was a salsa for chips. This wasn't it chief. 2 milkshakes. One vanilla and one strawberry. Vanilla tasted like chocolate. Strawberry well it was just Meh but at least the flavor was right. Still, this ain't it chief. Half onion rings and half fries. Our travels in the quest for the ultimate hamburger have brought us to the Burger Lounge in Costa Mesa on 17th., a few blocks from Newport. Cool mid century modern vibe inside. Order at the counter then it becomes a full-service restaurant. Cane sugar sodas are very good. I had the Classic Burger (American cheese, ketchup mustard, and pickles) so I could compare it directly to all of the other burgers I've had across the country. It's clearly cooked on a flat iron grill which is the best way to caramelized it for crazy good flavor. It's fresh beef that's squashed onto the grill that makes for a jagged uneven edge that is just so good. It's as good as the best I've had including Louis' Lunch in Connecticut. Andrew still likes Louis' better. Fries taste exactly like In N Out which is good in my book but the onion rings have a unique flavor which we both really liked. Overall a great experience. Bonus, The bathrooms are so nice you may want to take your food inside and eat there! read more

The food was not good, the service was terrible and they could have cared less. I spent $65.00 on. Burger 3 chicken strips and a salads and it was awful. The fries were hard and had lots of salt in which I ask for no salt! The chicken tasted like it was cooked in dirty grease, the burger meat was greasy and had the wrong cheese, and the lettuce tomato was mushy.. the special sauce was lumpy and thick, and the Caesar salad was soft and has chunks of some think sauce and parts of the lettuce was brown! If you want a classic homemade style burger made with high quality ingredients I think this is it. I ordered the Husky burger with bacon and I thought the meat was very good! It had a hint of saltiness with a slight char to it. The toppings were fresh and very simple. They don't offer a wide variety of unusual toppings, so it's easy to pick a burger. I knocked the score down one star because I didn't like their fries. I like crispier fries and these were way too soft in my opinion so after they get cold you just don't want to eat them anymore.
