Oh man, the Hopdoddy Brussels sprouts are officially on my list of food I must find a way to dupe at home. I love that they were crispy without being burned and they had great flavor. This was a delicious alternative to a classic burger or even a burger in a bowl with just romaine. I topped mine with their Nashville hot chicken which was actually pretty spicy! But the chicken was delicious and everything tasted very fresh. We also tried the queso fries which were good but nothing super special. I actually thought just the fries without the queso were good, I don't think I'd splurge for the queso again. Staff were friendly! The line to order did move a little slow but once we got sat it was pretty quick to get our food. I also appreciate the kind of indoor outdoor vibe here with the big windows and patio. Cute little burger spot nestled in the corner by Macy's at Fashion Island. Their burgers are exceptional, and keeps you pretty full. Make sure to download their rewards app!!! They give you occasional complimentary sides or shakes on the app. We have tried their fries, the sweet potato fries were good. As for the shakes, we have tried almost all of their flavors. For a burger place at a mall, I'm pleasantly surprised at the value and quality. The Brussels sprout leaves are officially the best form of Brussels sprouts I've had in a long time. Prior to placing the order I asked if there was a difference in the fries, being that I ordered the garlic truffle. The server, bartender, said no. Yet, when the checks finally came, my meal had a $4 difference. The explanation, the garlic truffle fries cost more because the orders only are made at a larger size... Sooo, shouldn't that have been explained when I originally asked if there was a price difference? I absolutely think so. My best advice, stick to the menu instead of asking a server or a bar tender any questions about pricing. Last but not least, get the sweet potato fries over the truffle fries. The truffle fries had too much of an oily taste, and I'm not sure if it was from the truffle oil or the oil the fries were fried in. Moreover, the Nashville Chicken Sandwich was pretty bomb! This burger joint is one of my favorites! I was first introduced to their burgers in Austin, TX on Congress. That layout is genius by the way, for the long line to wrap around the bar... that's the way to do it. Also love their seating system where all the tables are reserved for paid customers. Anyway, glad there is a spot here that makes really good unique burgers. Think it's location based menus. I didn't see the Greek burger on this locations menu. this is my go to spot as soon as I land here in Orange County I drive to fashion Island and stop here for the amazing hamburger. Staff is always very friendly very kind of very helpful in regards to how things go and always make sure that you have more than enough stuff that you need. The food is phenomenal. The service is great love the fact that you get to order with someone who knows the menu. Came to hopsoddy burger bar after a couple of years on a Friday night. The place was busy as usual. Took 10 minutes to put our order in and about 20 to get our food. Drink came out after 5 and nachos fries a bit later. One thing that we all noticed is that their burgers and sandwiches look much smaller than what we remember. I would say about 20% as it is very noticeable. My spicy chicken sandwich was great. It tasted amazing but didn't have much slaw in it. My wife didn't like her veggie burger. She said the texture was like sandpaper. I think overall we were disappointed by the amount of food we got. It was a convinient place for us as the outdoor is heated and we had our dog with us. I've been to the Hopdoddy in Tustin so when I came across this one, while walking around the mall it was very excited to jump in and have a nice tasty little drink and try something different on the menu. I love that they have open outside seating with open walls, so the breeze flows through into the bar area. On a hot day like today it was definitely a must to have a breeze. Fun place to go after watching a movie nearby. They have a a lot of IPA beers. Even the Beach Snack lager was fairly hoppy. The Parmesan Truffle fries are great. They come with a truffle Aioli which next time I would get more of to put on everything including my burger. The burgers were good but I didn't care for the buns which weren't delicate enough. My wife loved them though. She got the Classic Burger and substituted out the raw onions for grilled onions. I had dinner here recently after a movie at Regal Edwards across the street. A friend recommended Hopdoddy, and it didn't disappoint. We saved a table on the patio for our party and then went to order at the counter. All the burgers and menu items sounded tasty. I ordered the Thunderbird, a chicken patty burger cooked perfectly with fresh and well-balanced ingredients. The flavors were delicious and satisfying. I also ordered a side of Hand-cut fries, which were good, but after trying my friend's sweet potato fries, I felt a little regret for not ordering one myself. I highly recommend the sweet potato fries if you can't decide. The beer menu has rotating selections from local breweries, craft cocktails, and standard fountain drinks with free refills to satisfy your thirst. I opted for a fountain drink this time, but I'll have to try a brew next time. The staff was excellent throughout our dining experience, from ordering to preparing our food quickly and changing out the propane tank for the fire pit at our table on the patio. There are chill vibes at this spot in Fashion Island, with people shopping and walking around; it's still perfect for relaxing with good company, a drink, and delicious food. The pay before you eat business model is a great style because you can eat your food and leave without needing to worry about dividing up a bill or doing the math after enjoying a meal. My go to is the el Diablo it has a very spicy kick to it that doesn't over power the burgers flavor but packs enough a punch that your wanting more. Buyer beware if you don't like spicy don't get this . I would point you towards the double bacon jam or thunderbird options. You order at the counter, but there's unfortunately no visible menu posted on the wall, so we did have to wait till we got to the front of the counter before checking out the menu. It would have been nice to have the menu easily visible from the line in order to expedite the ordering process as a couple groups ahead of us definitely needed time to look over the menu which slowed down the process. I decided to get the "Double Bacon Jam" burger ($12.95) and an order of the shareable "Parmesan Truffle Fries" ($9.25) and the "Hot Honey & Sage Brussel Sprouts" ($10.95). Our food came out in about 10 minutes and everything was delicious. I loved the tomato bacon jam on the burger and the double patties were juicy and flavorful. The fries and brussels were equally as delicious and definitely of sharing size. We had 3 people share the two sides and it was just enough for the three of us. The flavor of the hot honey and sage brussels were good, but it was a bit too oily for my preference so I couldn't eat too much of it. Good place to grab a quick bite while shopping. We also ordered the Parmesan truffle Brussels. Lots of shavings of crisp roasted Brussels and tasty. Note that the truffle part is the sauce so if someone in your party hates truffle, they can still enjoy the Brussels (just don't have the sauce). Another bonus - they have Topochico sparkling water, which I love!
