The food was really good. I added on avocado to my plate for 2 dollars and got half of a big avocado if not more, which was a lot more than I was expecting. Our server (named Molly I think) and the manager were very passionate about making sure every customer had a good experience. I never leave reviews, but there was an incident that made me feel compelled to write this. My mother ordered French toast near 12pm and this incidentally led to some conflict between the manager and the kitchen which was in lunch mode. This caused a bit of a hiccup in wait time, and our manager and server were very upset that they could have impacted our experience and gave us our entire brunch for free, including the French toast and gave us some free appetizers. I was very shocked because we did not complain or mention the wait or anything, we just assumed they were busy. Overall, the manager and the staff were very impressive to me in their passion for customer service, and also the food was very good. Legitimately the ONLY good spot we ate in on our trip to South Lake Tahoe. First of all big shout out to Maddie for being such a great server. Got here at 12pm on a Friday and it was relatively crowded. We started with Cubanos. They were very creamy and smooth but way too sweet for our liking. My boyfriend got the Denver scramble- the tots were my fav part of that. Nothing against the scramble, but the tots were the best part. I got the classic breakfast. My poached eggs were a little more undercooked than I'd like. But the bacon was good and the tots (again) were perfection. We also split the horchata French toast for dessert. I'm not sure what made it horchata. It was an acceptable French toast, a little on the dry side, but the taste was there. Nothing to write home about but a reliable breakfast. read more

I got the huevos rancheros plate with plantain, it was just okay. The tostadas here were barely crispy, the frijoles (black beans) super mushy and flavorless. The salsas were barely any better. The horchata french toast tasted really eggy, nothing tasted like horchata about it. I have to wonder if a lot of the exceptional reviews here are for people who don't eat a lot of hispanic food. A word of caution for bigger groups, our server told us that she couldn't split our checks so we had to have one person pay for the entire meal and then Venmo them. There were 7 of us in the group so it didn't feel great to have someone pay for everyone's meal. It would be nice if there was a way to have individual bills. I ordered the tacos which were $4.25 each (overpriced in my opinion). I ordered one steak, one chicken, and one al pastor. The al pastor was the best one. The meat for the steak and chicken were kind of dry and the tortillas fell apart really easily so I didn't care much for the tacos. As mentioned, the views are worth the visit. The warm welcome and personal escort to our table by the friendly manager was a pleasant surprise at this busy, popular spot next the lake. With several large outdoor tables, groups are easily accommodated. The road noise was not bad and the beautiful Lake Tahoe view easily made up for it. Our fantastic server got us going right away and drinks were served quickly. After considering several tempting options, I chose the Beer Cheese Nachos. Although I should have picked the grilled chicken, as the shredded chicken adobo was very moist (normally good, except for keeping tortilla chips crisp) the flavors were great and this generous appetizer made a great lunch choice. Went here the other night to celebrate Father's Day. While I selected "4," I'd rate them more of "3.5" ... Pros: super friendly service. The views, right across the street from the lake- can't go wrong with that! There's a private parking lot, and they have live music! Cons: some food we ordered was very good (steak fajitas, tres leches cake), some was ok (steak enchiladas), and some was disappointing (chips with salsa and guacamole)). You can tell they made fresh tortillas for the fajitas, but their chips were store bought and we were given the bottom of the barrel (lots of small partial pieces), and not nearly enough for the salsa and guacamole... some of the plating was off putting too. Slopped on, they definitely could have done a better job! And while we didn't order it, they have a margarita tower that looked fun (and quite popular), guess it depends on what you want to go there for! read more

Lots of first time visits to new places during our South Lake Tahoe weekend getaway. Elements was our last stop before leaving and we had a fun Sunday early dinner. Food was good. I had two tacos and rice and beans. Shrimp taco had a very flavorful, tangy sauce with red cabbage and the shrimp were tender. The steak taco had guacamole'ish accompaniment to it. Steak had good flavor, but a bit tough and probably not freshly grilled before being put in the taco. The rice was delicious as well as the black beans. My hubby ordered a Caesar chicken wrap with adobo chicken. He really liked it. It was served with fries, which would have been amazing if they would have been served hot. Our server, Liz, was kind and attentive to us and afterwards when I asked what her favorite dish was on the menu, she said the enchiladas. I will try those next time when we come back! We sat outdoors at their giant outside tables area. There are so many tables! The views of Lake Tahoe (across the street) were beautiful. We peeked inside the restaurant and we were very impressed how fun and festive it looked in there. It would be a great place to dine during the colder months. This evening there was live music too, outside. We enjoyed this unexpected musical treat. Performer was a talented singer and musician and very interactive with his audience. Love this place for their food and ambiance. Been here 3x, once for lunch and 2x for brunch. Love their outdoor space. I always go with my toddler and it's a safe area to allow him to explore on his own while I enjoy a meal. They cater to children with kids menus, crayons, and side walk chalk. I had the best tamal here. Stuffed generously with shredded chicken and served with a tomatillo salsa. It was so flavorful and moist. I also had a side of plátanos maduros. It was the first time my 16 month old had these flavors and he loved it. The 2x I came for brunch, I got the same things because I loved them so much - HORCHATA FRENCH TOAST. I get it with a side bacon (their bacon is so good too), they give you a generous portion of it and it's not salty. I wash it down with a hot CAFÉ DE OLLA. It's made with the perfect balance of cinnamon and sweetness. During Sunday brunch they have a live singer which adds to the ambiance. I end up spending more time than I should here only because the atmosphere is so great. Beautiful weather, great music, and casual vibe. Service can be spotty depending when you go. We stopped by Elements Eatery during vacation. The space is very open with both indoor and outdoor seating, super spacious and kid-friendly. We chose to sit outside to enjoy some sunshine, which was nice. Waters came out right away. I ordered the Fruitception Sour and it was really delicious, definitely a highlight. We started with the taquitos. They were nice and crunchy, but felt like they were missing something. I'd love to see pickled onions added, and personally I prefer the lettuce on top instead of underneath. The hot sauce caddy came out after we had already started, but the green hot sauce was perfect with them. We ordered two taco plates with one mole and one shrimp taco each, both with rice and beans. The mole sauce was good, but the chicken itself was a little dry. Unfortunately, my shrimp taco got soggy and the tortilla didn't hold up well. On top of that, the shrimp didn't seem cooked through, and I get mouth irritation with raw or undercooked shrimp (iykyk), so I couldn't really eat it. The rice was good, but the beans were a bit on the spicy side, which meant my son couldn't have any. Overall, there were some really good elements here... great space, kid-friendly setup, and solid drinks, but a few execution issues with the food held it back for me. read more

Every time we drive by this place it is packed! It's a cute little Mexican fusion spot on the hwy and the vibe is where it's at. The wait staff is incredibly friendly and the food came out quickly. I'd say overall the food was ok. It gave us a quick fix in between soccer games, but based on the stars and reviews I'd say their signature dishes are probably breakfast. Everything was good, I'd say the food could have been a bit hotter and done a little better though. The beer cheese was very similar to the canned/ jarred ballpark cheese. The view is amazing, I had the BBG, while the biscuits and gravy were great with pouched eggs, the Al pastor was just okay, needed pickled purple onions and maybe some cilantro to give it a good Mexican food taste. While the portion was good I feel like this al pastor was smoked instead of grilled, they were a bit burnt. My wife had the breakfast tacos, which the pastor had the same issues but good guac. The mimosa flight was hands down one of the best I've ever had. You can actually taste the difference with the fresh-pressed juices -- every flavor was vibrant, fresh, and perfectly balanced. The dragonfruit and apple pie mimosas were my favorites and honestly worth going back for alone. We originally came for breakfast, but when we found out the pozole wasn't served until lunch, we decided to wait -- and I'm so glad we did. The Big Bowl of Pozole was packed with pork, beef, hominy, cabbage, onion, radish, lime, and the perfect smoky chipotle flavor. Rich, comforting, and tasted completely homemade. Every bite was amazing. Such a fun atmosphere without feeling overly touristy. Great food, creative cocktails, beautiful scenery, and an overall perfect Tahoe vibe.
