My brother and I saw this place on Yelp. When we arrived the ambiance was like a divey sports bar. We decided to go for it and I'm glad we did. I had the Gambler Steak Burger with garlic parmesan fries. My brother got the Blackened Salmon Ceasar Salad. I was surprised when the waiter said "good choice the salmon here is delicious". They have wild caught king salmon delivered twice a week. We split our food. The salmon was as good or better than any piece of salmon I have ever had. It melted in your mouth. My burger was cooked medium to perfection. Super juicey and delicious. Among the best burgers I have ever had no joke; they grind their own meat. The hand cut fries were really good too. Service is friendly and attentive. Great beer selection and plenty of TVs to catch the game you are after. We liked it so much that we went back and ordered the same dishes the next day and they were perfect again. They passed the consistency test. Yes two days in a row; thats how good it was. However, the burgers were just okay. We tried the Silver and the one with grilled onions and thousand island, but they didn't quite stand out. The island-style mocktail we ordered, on the other hand, was delicious. As for the tater tots, they were mediocre--a bit greasy and unseasoned even though we asked for Cajun (they just handed us the seasoning on the side instead of tossing them in it). Wings are a 10 here. I personally like the XXX sauce, and recommend it if you can handle spice. Even if you can't, the wings themselves are just fundamentally perfect. They probably use corn starch instead of flour, because they aren't overly breaded. Shoutout to the prep workers there (whatup Zoe!), because the food is like crazy good, hot, and fast. For most of the food, they have this insane rotating grill that you can see from the street. Super cool operation Steak salad is a must as well. It's so refreshing! It's got a balsamic dressing, some bleu cheese, and either raisin or dried cranberry and maybe walnuts. I don't actually know because I shovel it down my throat lol. Burgers are the best in the area. Even their less popular items are very well done. Recently got a sausage and peppers sandwich that was as good as what I routinely make at home. Atmosphere is amazing. All the employees go above and beyond. I usually sit at the bar and play any of their video gambles. You win some, you tip extra, you leave happy. You lose some and get some beers on the house. I'll go there if I go to Nevada beaches, or if I want to catch a game. South Lake resident and I generally avoid stateline for it's crowds but I'll head up to Lucky Beaver just for the food. It's good for hanging out with friends but I wouldn't hesitate bringing my nieces and nephews and whole family there. Only critique is parking. They don't comp it, but all parking is paid now at the casinos, so it's no surprise, that's just the standard.. Open 24/7! This dive bar serves up some pretty mean burgers. We needed a snack after our hike and Lucky Beaver was right down the street. Burgers are made to order and take about 15 minutes (stated on their menu). Our royal flush was juicy and had a good beefy taste. The ratio of beef patty:cheese:grilled onions:sautéed mushrooms:fresh veggie:bun was perfect. I couldn't really taste the horseradish aioli but did see it in there. We ordered medium (not the slightest bit pink) and wished we had gone with medium rare but it was still tasty. The tater tots were super crispy! Service was good. No parking validation. The first 45 minutes are free then it's $15 for up to 2 hours. I timed our visit and we would have barely made it out of there in 45. First time at Lucky Beaver Bar & Burger for dinner and we came right back for breakfast the next morning. The place has some of the best burgers I've ever had. It was dry aged and cooked perfectly. The blue cheese was the highlight and they loaded it for me. I got the avocado, lettuce and tomato on the side so it didn't clash with the blue cheese. The onion rings were also fried to perfection with a really good batter. And we enjoyed several tasty beers on draft. Service was excellent, and the vibes inside were cool. For breakfast I had the Steak and Egg burrito. I could have used more steak and less egg. But it was prepared as listed on the menu, 4 oz of steak and 3 eggs. But I noticed they have a steak and egg sandwich that I could probably convert to a burrito. And that one has 6 oz of steak and 2 eggs. I'll take it for that delicious steak. We spotted this place with their meats turning in the front window as the wonderful smell of burgers as we walked by for a concert at the event center. We remembered it and went to dinner here the next night. I guess they were voted best burger in the area for a few years. I shared with my date and it was just perfect. Loved they offered tater tots. Really good burger spot in Tahoe. Right down the street from Harrah's. Pretty big in door area with tons of high top tables and bar seating. The atmosphere is fun with music blasting (that may not be good for some though). The food was really good. We both got the Gambler. I got the Cajun fries and my husband got the Cajun tots. The only changes I would make are more consistent seasoning on the Cajun fries and less salty chili dog but I'm not sure if they can change anything about that. My fries were 90% plain with maybe a few covered in Cajun seasoning which was a bummer. The fries were a bit stale as well. The chili dog was extremely salty but the flavor itself was good. I knocked down 2 stars mostly due to service and how they run the place. They do not take down names when it's busy, they make you "stand in line" even though no one is actually standing in line and if two seats or space opens up to stand inside and it's cold outside, they still expect you to stand outside. None of it makes sense. It seemed very unorganized and every server had an irritated and bitchy attitude. They get things done quick there which is nice but it's not fun when everyone has resting bitch face and people keep trying to take your plates away while you're still eating. They gave me an extra plate to put my chicken wing bones and after I put 2 in there, they tried to collect the plate multiple times even though there was a plate of uneaten wings next to it. We decided to grab a late night bite without the kids at this place after it was recommended to us. It did not disappoint! Friday night and we briefly waited for table and got seated quickly, put our drink order in before we decided on the jackpot burger with garlic Parmesan tots extra crispy & the blackened salmon Caesar. Prices were average as expected in resort area and portions were decent. The food was delicious! Let's just say the plates were cleaned at the end. Lol! Great music played from the juke box that customer can pay to play. Plenty of seating for gatherings seems like party of 4-6 would be doable. Wow! Amazing late night eats! Didn't expect much from the outside and walking it the place was dimly lit and full of bar goers. Had a party of just under 10. Our server had half black and blonde hair and absolutely killed it as our waitress. She was on top of her game. Our waters and sodas were constantly being refilled. Empty plates taken away. It looks like a college hangout with all of the merchandise for sale, tons of framed pictures on the walls, and loud rock music blaring. Front of the house seated us immediately where there happened to be open tables in the outdoor dining area in the back of the restaurant. Hubby and I each ordered burgers. My $24 Platinum Signature, a 50-day aged steak burger with American cheese, thousand island dressing, and caramelized onions was life-altering delicious. Seriously, my burger was very juicy, flavorful, and amazing. Buns were tender but held up well against the 1/2 lb patty and toppings. The tater tots were fried perfectly and also delicious. Hubby's $19 Royal Flush burger with grilled onions and mushrooms with A1 sauce was also delicious. But you could definitely tell the difference in the meat patties. Service was great. 4.8 overall! Great place for lunch during our first morning at South Lake Tahoe. Luckily we got in after only a 5-minute wait for a table as it was already busy at 11:00! I ordered a steak sandwich which is the best I've had in a long time. Steak was tender, full of flavor with the carmelized onions, pepperjack cheese and sautéed mushrooms. The ciabatta bread was also deliciously toasted and great. I would order this again! My hubby ordered a steak burrito that had eggs and avo in it and he loved it as well. The place was packed, but we managed to get a table in the middle of the house without too much wait. Service was great -- they fixed a side mix-up right away, which I really appreciated. I went with the Jackpot Steak Burger, and it did not disappoint. Loaded up with all the good stuff and super satisfying after a long drive. While visiting Lake Tahoe, we needed a spot for dinner and kept hearing about this bar and restaurant from everyone we were meeting. Conveniently, it was located right across from our hotel. The place was packed when we arrived, with a lively, fun atmosphere. People were drinking, chatting, and really enjoying themselves. It's much bigger inside than it looks from the outside. At first glance, it seemed like your typical bar food spot, so we weren't expecting anything too special. We ordered a mix of burgers, a couple of chicken Cobb salads, and a tower of onion rings. Since it was super busy, the food took a while to come out, but when it finally arrived, we were honestly surprised--the presentation was way better than expected, and everything looked great. The burgers were well-seasoned and delicious, and the salads were fresh and flavorful--definitely a standout. The only downside was the long wait and that a couple of the burgers were luke warm. **Please read full review** A group of 5 of us arrived for dinner at 7:30 pm. It was fairly busy but we were given a table right away. We ordered our food at 7:50 pm and the waitress told us it would take 30 minutes for our food to come out. We were okay with the wait and we ordered two rounds of drinks. About 5 tables arrived and received their food before ours. An hour and ten minutes later our food arrived. 2 of our burgers were so cold as if they were sitting in the refrigerator overnight. We noticed our waitress and she offered to have the burgers remade. They gave us our burgers back about 5 minutes later and the backside of the burgers were still cold. The cooks clearly put the burgers on the grill only on the top bun because the top bun was burnt to a crisp and the patty was still cold in the middle and well done around the edges. At this point we were extremely frustrated and hungry so we asked to speak to the manager. The manager was understanding and offered to waive the burgers and all of our drinks. Even though the experience was poor we were glad the manager waived our burgers and drinks and wanted to put this experience behind us. The bill finally arrived and they still had 5 drinks on our tab. We asked to speak to the manager again and he said that he can only waive the first round of drinks. This was not what he originally offered and refused to waive all of our drinks as he previously stated. I would recommend avoiding this establishment at all costs. Not to mention, it was uncomfortably hot inside to the point where we were sweating in a t shirt and jeans. The manager proved he doesn't stick by his word. Not a bar that happens to serve burgers, but a gourmet burger restaurant that does so in a bar. I'm always a bit skeptical when something is acclaimed as the "best of" anything. Is it possible that Lucky Beaver might actually have, or at least be close to, the Best Burger in Tahoe? Yes. I was surprised to see they offer two types of burgers: 1. the 1/2 lb Signature using 50-day aged prime rib along with chuck, brisket and short rib; and 2. the 1/2 lb Famous Steak Burger made with short rib and bone-in chuck roast. So, the Signature Burger was obviously better, right? Well, actually...no. The Steak Burger was much more moist and flavorful than its colleague, the Signature Burger. The "ambiance" is...a loud and busy bar. If you're good with that, then you're good. They do have a small back patio which is dog and family friendly, and with this huge menu they're as much a restaurant as they are a bar anyway. This was a surprisingly good place ! I've passed this bar many times but never had the desire to venture in purely because of the name. We finally decided to try it after someone recommended it to us. This dive bar has lots of character. There are tons of pictures to look at on the walls and a great spot up front to watch the bacon and burgers cooking away on a rotating grill. It was packed when we arrived but we snagged a table for two and were served right away by the friendly staff. There's a great selection of cocktails and beers and best of all an extensive burger menu. I tried the Gambler and it was delicious! This place is cool!! I should have taken pictures because we sat at the bar and right downtown Tahoe across the street from Heavenly and all those stores. And sheesh was it BUSY but how fun!! Our bartender who kept joking with us was super nice and awesome we liked him! Everyone was saying the hype was the burgers but we ended up getting and got lots of beer and their specialty cocktails one that was tasty to me but funny was called "the kinky beaver" it tasted like a liquid jolly rancher. I also had some of their "Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Cider" which was also delicious while my friend was drinking their "Sculpin Grapefruit IPA" I tried it and it was yummy! So yeah you can say we had a good time. As for their appetizers we got the corkscrew shrimp which was okay and the chicken tenders which had a bit more breading than chicken and the chicken sandwich with tater tots! I may try the burger next time because they apparently have great ones! Not only did our entrees take time to arrive, they were delivered without silverware and the items that were cook to temperature, were overcooked. The server exclaimed, "there are 40 of you" when we asked for silverware and the side of ranch we ordered. As a point of note, we were a party of eight. Unfortunately, this was not resolved, but I did learn our server is a manager at Stateline Brewery. We have had good experiences here in the past, but today was not one that would garner a return visit. Besides the burgers, they're supposed to be known for their wings which we need to try next time. The salads looks good too to be honest.. and their chili too? So everything?They seemed very open to customization - building a DIY burger for a guest at the table next to us. We got a royal flush and a gambler, which was definitely enough food. My boo loved the gambler ($19) - "this is my kind of burger." The onion rings (+$4) were perfectly crisp. The royal flush ($19) was delicious but the bottom bun on this was super soggy and therefore kinda inedible so ended up fork-and-knifing it. Maybe should have gotten a steak salad. Sat in the outside area since we have minors Lots of inconsiderate people smoking down wind of us, and some jerk on a motorcycle reved his bike for 5 mins non stop making the whole patio smell like a race track. The food took well over 1 1/2 hours to get to us. The wait for the food was disgustingly long. No one ever checked on us and no one came to refill drinks ever. The bronze burger was mediocre at best. Flavorless, and bland, the fried egg brought some flavor but it was nothing to rave about. Some of my fries were cold, like refrigerator cold. I was in Tahoe for a few days for my daughter's dance competition and came here one afternoon for lunch. We got a burger and some wings. The wings were really good. They had several flavors that sounded really good, that I wanted to try. We went with half buffalo, and half Beaver sauce. The beaver sauce was really good. Next time I come back I will definitely try some of the other wing flavors. The burger and fries were really good too. Im not a big fry eater, but these fries were cooked and seasoned perfectly.
