This place used to be a BurgerIM but it's now Burger Maza. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. We always get the Family meal. We got 4 burgers and 4 fried chicken burgers. The regular burgers were good but the chicken patties were definitely not as good. It just is not the same flavor as when this place was a BurgerIM. The patty is even shaped differently so I wasn't a fan. Also, the onion rings were crisped to perfection but the same care was not given to the fries. They were soggy and undercooked. Service was friendly and smooth. The food was great. We had the dumplings (mantoo), my teenager had the Angus cheeseburger, I had the ground (kobedah) beef plate and my wife the lamb kebab plate. The food is alright but kind of dry and over priced for what you get. Not the best and not the worst. I would maybe go back and give it another try but it's certainly not something I would crave especially for something as simple as a burger than you can get from somewhere on any street corner. I was in the Bel Air shopping center, lunchtime and I was a little "hangry". I wanted to see what Falafel Corner was all about but they didn't have a single customer at lunchtime. Not a good sign. So bailed from that and went down several doors to BurgerIM or Burger Maza, whatever. The restaurant was exceptionally clean and had a good amount of customers....hey, maybe this is something. The staff was very friendly and courteous, another good sign. I ordered a 1/3 lb Angus burger, is it really Angus? Your guess is as good as mine. But the gentleman asked me how I wanted the burger cooked which is a rarity. I went for medium well because unless they are grinding their own beef on the spot, I don't want any pink. The bun was super fresh and soft but lightly toasted, which was a nice touch. All of the veggies (tomato, lettuce, onion, pickles) were also bright and refreshing. The burger patty was amazing. Even though I ordered it medium well, it was still juicy and very tasty. I was totally impressed by this "hole in the wall" at a little outdoor mini mall. (Yeah a poet and didn't know it). The cost was just over $10 after taxes. It's not exactly cheap but it was good. Right in that same mall, you could easily spend 10 bucks at McDonald's for a bunch of crap. I will be back. Service was very friendly and helpful as this was my first time in. I had to try the kabuli palaw so we shared that and a Spanish burger and fries. The burger and fries were good but I can't wait to go back and have some of the other Afghan dishes. I thought the kabuli palaw was excellent. I got the Maza combo to go. Got home and opened my food up, Order was incorrect, was supposed to have kobedeh beef and chicken... The chicken was a good portion and was actually really good, the other meat im guessing was lamb, was super stale, gray on the sides and hard. Honestly Looked like one piece of lamb kabob cut into three smaller pieces just to fill something on the plate. They should have told me that they ddnt have enough kobedah beef to fulfill the order correctly, I wouldn't get mad, easy substitution and this meal would have been 5 stars instead they're getting 2. Not sure if they're serving that lamb but it was actually one of the worst I've ever tried, and im a big fan of lamb. We have been to this location twice, the customer service is excellent. Food is all fresh and tasted great. The food took close to 30 minutes to receive, just ensure you have time to dine in or place an order ahead. The first time we went, we had the family box, lots of food for a fair price. The most recent time I tried the Maza Combo, the chicken and steak kebabs were tender and packed with flavor. However, the salad that was served on the side did not look fresh. They previous owners built this location. Now this Burger IM will make you sick. Not sure what they are doing to the food but mixing a middle east restaurant with burgers and fries should be easy. I won't be going back. Subpar service, and being sick for a day after wasn't worth it. read more
