Service was friendly and smooth. The food was great. We had the dumplings (mantoo), my teenager had the Angus cheeseburger, I had the ground (kobedah) beef plate and my wife the lamb kebab plate. The sweet potato fries were tender and delicious. We were given a green sauce which was mildy spicy. I really liked it but the meat tasted great with or without it.

Burgers single, double and fries, onion rings, sweet potato fries Oh My. But wait there is more!!! Must remind myself that this place has authentic Afghani dishes as well. All the meats are well seasoned and flavorful, mixed with unique flavor profiles. The Kababs were delicious and the Bolani were succulent. Can't wait to try the delicious looking Kobedah and Mantoo

The beef burger was 10/10 so goooooood! The flavor, seasoning, dressing was everything you could ever ask for. The Milk shake could of had more chocolate 8/10 ! Service was excellent and owner was kind.

This was the lamb portion compared to a quarter.

I got the Maza combo to go. Got home and opened my food up, Order was incorrect, was supposed to have kobedeh beef and chicken... The chicken was a good portion and was actually really good, the other meat im guessing was lamb, was super stale, gray on the sides and hard. Honestly Looked like one piece of lamb kabob cut into three smaller pieces just to fill something on the plate. They should have told me that they ddnt have enough kobedah beef to fulfill the order correctly, I wouldn't get mad, easy substitution and this meal would have been 5 stars instead they're getting 2. Not sure if they're serving that lamb but it was actually one of the worst I've ever tried, and im a big fan of lamb. The rice was really good on the positive side, pepper and tomato tasty as well!

Great food and service! And all at quite adequate prices. Very large portion. Lots of lamb meat. A whole leg. I'll come back again to try the different dishes and burgers

. It's definitely my choice for halal burgers. Try this place for sure you won't be disappointed.

We got our favorite Afghan dishes: Chicken kabobs with extra chicken (charbroiled chicken with brown rice and crispy salads), Bolani (with chives and mashed potatoes), our most loved mantoos (ground beef with tomatoes/yogurt sauce), our favorite rice dish Qabuli (basmati rice with lamb, topped with sweet carrots and raisins), and hummus (the best creamy chickpeas). We always enjoyed our food from Chopan. The only criticism is that the order took longer than they told us (20 minutes longer.) but the food was well worth it.

She'd noticed my growing curiosity about Afghan cuisine from a previous visit elsewhere and gently pointed me toward Chopan Kabob House, insisting it was worth the experience. There was something comforting in that recommendation--like being guided toward a place that already held meaning for someone you trust. When I arrived, I was immediately struck by the restaurant's clean, welcoming atmosphere. The space felt intentional--nicely furnished without being overwhelming, simple yet warm. I mentioned I was ordering takeout, and the gentleman behind the counter handed me a menu. At first glance, it seemed straightforward, but the more I looked, the more it felt thoughtfully curated--each item carrying a sense of tradition and care. Wanting a proper introduction, I chose the Combination Kabob with Tikka and chicken. It felt like the right balance--a way to experience more in a single meal. I was told it would take about 20 minutes, and as I sat waiting, I found myself appreciating that detail. In a world built on speed, those 20 minutes felt reassuring. It suggested intention, freshness, and the kind of cooking that isn't rushed. When I finally brought the meal home and opened the container, I was genuinely surprised. The portions were generous--almost abundant. A vibrant salad added a refreshing contrast, while the long-grain rice was fragrant and perfectly cooked. Then there were the stars of the meal: the Tikka beef and the chicken, both beautifully prepared. Each bite carried depth--layers of spices and seasoning that felt both bold and comforting. It wasn't just flavorful; it felt rooted in something deeper, something traditional. By the time I finished, I realized this wasn't just a satisfying meal--it was an experience that lingered. There's a certain nostalgia in discovering a place like this for the first time, especially through the recommendation of someone close to you. It feels personal, almost like being let in on a secret. I'm already looking forward to returning, perhaps next time to dine in and take in the full experience. And with a menu that promises more to explore, this feels less like a one-time visit and more like the beginning of a new favorite.

Pieces of flavorless boneless chicken chunks thrown in with rice. It is not biryani. No chutney, no raita, no salan. The chicken was so dry, we couldn't eat it. The picture is what we threw away. It gave the entire house stomach issues. 0/5 stars -Go to Curry Leaves in Rocklin Chicken Tikka Masala was super sweet with old chicken. The chicken was mushy like a baked potato. Never again, more stomach issues. 0/5 stars -Go to Shalimar in Natomas Aloo Palak was edible but little to no flavor. 2/5 stars -Go anywhere else Garlic Naan was not garlic. It was plain with butter. 1/5 stars. -Go anywhere else I hate to leave this review, but if you have eaten at a quality Indian restaurant, cafe, chaat house, or even hole in the wall you would realize the overwhelming disappointment in flavor, preparation, pricing and commitment to quality. The kicker, guy that handed me the food said we are making it all fresh for you right now...these were leftovers from their buffet I suspect. Sad I had to post, would love a quality Indian option in the area, you will have to drive elsewhere. I challenge those that love this place to measure it against Trader Joe's frozen entree options. ¼ of the price, more flavor and tastes fresher...which is crazy for me to say, I know, but try it. Extremely disappointed patron....oh and don't use the left door, you will walk right into their Open Hours sign face first...saw a man do it on his way out. I wish I saw Monica's review before mine, but Yelp decides to default to the best reviews first. Yikes!!
