Talk about delicious!! I tried the food from this taco truck when I was out shopping at the Folsom outlets and man I had to go back the next day for more. The HEFTY fries are so well cooked, they're seasoned perfectly, there's lots of meat, and the fries are crisp (none of that extra oily stuff either) The Gyro Pita is sooooooo bomb, if you like a bit spicy it's a definite yes because they add pepperchinis which give that extra little kick. Stopped at a Gyro Stop food truck tonight and decided to try a couple things. Their cheesesteak gyro was amazing. I've never had a cheesesteak with a cheeseskirt but it was great. We were at Bike Dog brewery and very hungry - I've found most of the breweries we go to that have food trucks outside, the food is usually good and goes well with the beer. You couldn't have a better one here. We both got the chicken-rice bowls and they were superb. Went super well with our beers. If this was a place that was actually near where I live, I'd get this all the time. I told the owner that we loved the food and I'd leave him a review on yelp so he gave me his card. He told us he does catering, I assume people know how good this food is - he must get lots of business. This is for the food truck in Placerville. They have a location they just opened but the power was out at the time so they brought up the truck instead. We still went to support them because that location seems tough for what they serve: Mediterranean dishes. Bottom line: the beef/ lamb gyro is delicious. I didn't see the traditional rotisserie spit but it looked just like how it would if it came from there . The tzaziki sauce was nice. I liked that their Green salad came with a spring mix. It may not be traditional but tastier than just Romaine. Would've loved some olives in it. It also comes with mozzarella and shredded cheddar which is weird so I asked them to omit it and keep the feta. The lemon garlic feta fries were tasty. Friend had the chicken shawarma. Originally said it was too dry. But then dug deeper and found the sauce and said it was much better. If she ordered it again she's ask for extra sauce. Falafels were alright. I've had better but definitely also had worse. Will ask for sauce on the side next time. Tahini sauce is incredibly bitter. The orange sauce has the texture of thick hummus but I think it's that... baba ganoush. Not sure but it was tasty. Another thing: it's pretty expensive. A Greek salad. A special gyro meal. A side of meat. Lemon fried. A side of falafels came out to be over $70 with tip. I really hope they last. I would love to keep supporting them. Placerville needs more diverse food option. read more

Stopped at Antioch Food Truck Thursday because I saw the Gyro Stop truck. I haven't been able to find a gyro I really love since moving to CA. They're not bad by any means, just not like the gyros I learned to love at home. And then there was Gyro Stop!! This was the most amazing gyro I've had since moving to CA. The pita was perfectly soft and the meat amazingly flavorful. I always request extra sauce but I can honestly say it wasn't needed here (I'm a dipper and flagrant over-saucer.) The mixture of sauce, toppings and meat was beyond perfect. I ordered the combo and they allowed me to upgrade the fries to the garlic feta for a small upcharge. Completley worth it!! My breath disagrees but they were amazing. A very generous amount of feta and an amazing light lemon juice along with enough garlic to keep me safe from all illness and vampire attacks for the foreseeable future. In addition to absolutely amazing food - the staff working the truck was incredibly friendly and helpful. I'm a reasonable person but I don't have extraordinary service expectations for this type of environment - it's usually warm, people are rude and it's busy! I have Gyro's all my life since I grow up in Europe and let me tell you , GyroStop has the thinnest cut Gyro's which I am used to have originally from Europe and the perfect balance of garnish. I had their classic Gyro Sandwich which came with a soft pita bread, their own homemade Tzatziki Sauce, tomatoes, lettuce, ( Opt out on onions due to my wife's opposition having them in my Gyro but later I saw they were thinly sliced and having them next time I am around this way ), feta cheese and vinaigrette.
