Definitely now our go place for breakfast. Our family stopped going for breakfast because of the ridiculous prices for eggs and pancakes, but we decided to try this cozy spot recommended by a local. And we were not disappointed! The service was perfect, everyone so attentive with refilling your drinks and very generous with everything. Prices and portions are very decent as well. We had French toast, waffles, pancakes, eggs and hash browns all was cooked perfectly. The place is busy but not crazy busy, has a very homey vibe, with farm animals and like vintage decoration that we all enjoyed seeing. Very family friendly and oriented. Nice family run restaurant. I've been for breakfast and lunch. Nothing gourmet just real honest food. Portions are great and value can't be beat. Food comes out quickly and refills are offered without having to ask for more. Place gives kitschy 60's diner vibes. Had the waffle special today, with two eggs, bacon or sausage and potatoes (country or my favorite hash browns) for 12.99, normally that price doesn't include the potatoes. Never too crowded or a wait when I've been. Only thing to know is there is an extra charge for credit card transactions. When I go out for breakfast, this is my go to spot. read more

First off, I want to say that we discovered this place after moving into the area a few years ago and were very happy with our meals and service there. We loved the place. However, the last two times we have gone there have not been good. For one thing, when we were in there dining, they allowed some woman to bring her medium sized dog into the place and it was getting up on the table at some points, and all the while this woman was practically yelling at the dog, going "NO!! NO!! and disrupting the dining atmosphere for the other patrons. Some of us were looking at each other in disbelief. The next time, the sausage that I had with my breakfast was as hard as rock, like it had been sitting out for a long time. That had never happened before, and when they brought it to our table, the young waitress there made me take the hot plate with my meal on it out of her hands instead of setting on the table for me like everyone else does. This young girl there always seems to be in a sour mood too. We hope that this does not continue as we really do like the place but if it does we may have to find somewhere else to dine. This restaurant is quite cute! The ambiance is very homey- and has a very cute country feel! I ordered the vegetarian omelette which came with potatoes and toast, my omelette was piping hot fresh off the grill! We arrived as they opened and was quickly seated and drinks orders were taken. Good morning was said in a very welcoming and pleasing tone when we arrived The menu was very put together and had a lot of great options. The waitress was very friendly and told us a bit about the place. I had tea and my wife had coffee. Tea was very tasty and not to strong. Her coffee was good and brought with a bowl of creamer. Our waitress took our order. My wife had the Southern Breakfast as did I. I also ordered the cherry pancakes.Waiting for the food i walked around and looked at this attractive little hole in spot. It has a real ranch feel and her and I were very very comfortable. Big tv in one room and lots of seating all around through out the restaurant. There was plenty of social distancing throughout the restaurant. The restaurant at this time was open for 25%. The food arrived at the table and looked delicious,I couldn't wait to dig in. These cherry pancakes looookkkkkked so yummy. Took me bad to kid days. The pancakes were three stacked and full of whipped cream and cherries.There were many other flavors also. The eggs were done perfect. The bacon cooked perfect but not to done. The sausage was super yummy There are many other things that we are looking forward to trying on our many returns. It doesn't wow you but the atmosphere feels homely. The potatoes can be taken off the pan a couple of minutes.. be a tad dry. The omelette was still piping hot inside, so that was good. The Rey toast was good. Maybe the other selection may be better. I was stuff halfway through my breakfast. Juan ordered the supreme pancakes (3 big stashed of 'em) with two sausages and two bacons. It was filing. I think I had better omelette at ihop, lumberjack, mels and black bear. Service was excellent non the less. I see regulars so something must kept them coming back. Oh Lord! Run away! Citrus Heights location: 20 Years ago I tried RCK & it was great! Thursday, 11/30/23 eggs tasted burnt & were rubbery, bacon (cheap kind) overcooked, coffee tasted like coffee grounds sitting in the pot for a couple of days, milk tasted like Instant powdered milk...."treated" my Contractor to a breakfast here (even he said "I thought we were friends" lol - never again! & $48 + tip later....coming away wiser. I have passed this little cafe for years and planned to dine one day; well that day was today! No waiting, we were seated immediately. There was just one other party seated and other patrons ordered to go. The entire staff was awesome. Three different people checked on our table, despite our having a (dedicated) waitress. I love the approach to great service. Hubby ordered the pancake supreme (subbed eggs for egg whites), I went the a la carte rout and ordered a short stack, country potatoes, and corned beef hash. Hubby enjoyed his breakfast. My pancakes were cooked perfectly, the hash was awesome, the potatoes were cooked well but needed red bell pepper, green bell pepper, onion and garlic. I came in here looking for a quick bite to eat with my dad and sister. My car was being worked on down the street... When you first see Rosie's, it's a big white building with Windows along the outside. As you walk the front entrance is sectioned off from the rest of the restaurant with windows in between. The front entrance was not air-conditioned at all. We almost feared that the rest of the restaurant would be like that. When you go past the entrance through the second door, there is a host and where you wait to be seated. Thankfully, it was cooler in the test of the restaurant. To your right is a breakfast bar. If you walk in a little more to your sharp right, there are four booths. My dad sister and I were seated in a 4-person booth... It was a little bit of a tight squeeze just because we're at the smallest of people. When we sat down, we noticed how quiet it was. There was no music playing so you could hear everyone's conversation. Then it would get awkward while you were talking and then everybody else was quiet because then it felt like everyone else could hear your conversation. We mostly sat in silence. My dad ordered the country fried steak, my sister ordered a tuna sandwich, and I ordered eggs and Country potatoes. I always order my eggs over easy, because I seem to always get them over done.. Everything was beautiful and cooked beautifully. My dad enjoyed his country fried steak, and his only complaint was that there was so much food! He got his country fried steak, with three eggs, country potatoes, and a side of toast. My sisters tuna sandwich was beautiful, it had lettuce and tomato and tuna between two fluffy pieces of bread. Hers came with a choice of a soup, or salad, or fries. My eggs, just as I suspected, or cooked over medium, but that is how I do like them.. so good move on my part for ordering them over easy. Mine also came with toast, and I got English muffin with it instead. Everything we got tasted so good! Service was good. First, the good: Service was great. Greeted when we walked in the door and lots of attention paid to us from all the friendly staff. I don't believe our coffee cups were ever empty. Now for the not-so-good: Breakfast menu has all the usual suspects, but also offers some variety with Indian food. I decided to try something different and ordered the "clay omelet," made with tandoori chicken, veggies, and cheese, and fruit on the side, instead of potatoes and toast. The plainly presented plate they brought out was just the omelet, and it looked like it had been sitting under the heat lamp for a minute. There were 2 slices of cheese, American and white cheddar (or white American?), on top and barely melted. It was as if they just added the cheese last minute as an afterthought. The chicken was dry and cold, possibly leftovers from the day before? The omelet was bland and overcooked. A few minutes later they brought out a cup of fresh fruit of cantaloupe, banana, and oranges. I wasn't happy with my meal but ate the omelet because I was starving. My boyfriend liked his good-looking waffle and satisfied with his scrambled eggs and bacon. There are a lot of similar country kitchen diners in the area, so I don't think I'd go back to Rosie's based on my disappointing food. read more
