Wow !! This was nothing short of AMAZING. I ordered through Uber eats (I'm a first timer) and this is one of the best burgers I've had whilst in Atlanta. So flavorful and cooked to perfection. The onion rings were PERFECT and savory and the ranch dressing tasted as though is was homemade. Whomever prepared this meal for me defiantly made it with love. I enjoyed it! Not to mention they followed all my detailed instructions on how I wanted it prepared and they executed. Thank you!!

So, if i can use 2 words to describe this place, they will be 'OK' and 'Decent'. In my opinion, the place has nice food and very nice service. They have decent number of options and they have a special that gets updated on a regular basis. Do not order fries though, you may be disappointed. This is one of those places where you could eat every now and then without getting disappointed. That being said, it will never be your favorite burger place.

Ordered this place through Uber Eats recently & I had the impossible burger! OMG! When I say the burger & fries where still warm & DELICIOUS! I'm definitely going back to eat in person.

This place is part of sun trust food plaza, and should not be confused with Peachtree food court. I ordered a veggie burger which does not comes with any fries. Our order took around 10 minutes. Burger is not assembled when served, out of two sides of bun, one had a veggie patty and a layer of cheese and second a layer of lettuce which had to be put together. Burger tasted average, however it needed caramelized onions and some kind of sauce. Burger was a bit dry for me, however the veggie patty was well balanced and tasted good.

Despite the hours posted on yelp, they were closed. I walked and was excited to try them, but was denied at the finish line.

I originally ordered one chili slaw dog and after inhaling it, I mean eating it, I ordered a second. (I had will power to leave after the 2nd one or I would closed the place down). The place is quaint and full of localness and charm. Be warned, there isn't a cloth napkin within 20 miles of the place. There are several rolls of paper towels and tear off what you need. My fellow Yelpers tipped me off to the kick the chili has. And kick it is. It is a slow burn that sneaks up on you. Fortunately, I had a smear of chilled slaw on top of it. The dog is a remarkable color red and the bun is steamed and it is wonderful! I ordered a side of onion rings- they were fried to order and while tasty, not the star of the show. My beverage was served in a bucket, 32 oz styrofoam cup with crunchy ice cubes. Again, wonderful. There was a steady pace of person ordering at the counter and the phone rang for pick up orders. And, as the sign says- Cash Only. The prices will not break your bank.

Today I sat at the counter and had two chili cheese dogs and an order of chili cheese fries. I think that'll be my standard order going forward, as the chili is where it's at. Dogs were great, as were the fries. Food came out quick and the fries were extremely crispy, which is just what you want when they're slathered with chili. They still had a great crisp bite when I dug in after I ate my first dog. By the end of my meal I had a slight sweat going from the heat of the chili, but it was a perfectly delightful spice, not anything overpowering. The ladies working the restaurant were quick, efficient, and friendly. I say it again: I can't wait to be back. Two chili cheese dogs, chili cheese fries, and a Coke for $12.50. Can't beat that!

The food comes out fast, and the food is what you would expect from a drive-in style burger joint from yesteryear. The original location is near Georgia Tech and is huge. It was shocking how much the quality of the food and service had declined. Shrinkflation was real. The only thing that remained the same was the historic atmosphere, and if that is all that this generation relies on to carry this icon into the future, I believe your prospects are limited. Frank Gordy and his operating philosophy, which he stated clearly when receiving the Atlanta Salesman of the Year Award in 1979, was built around quality and fairness: "I built my business around quality and fairness. We never change the quality or the taste of Varsity food; our food must be the same every day. And we greet our customers with courtesy and serve them quickly. We let them know we appreciate their business. So there's no secret to our success. Anyone will be successful if they build their business around quality and fairness." CAN THE MANAGEMENT SAY THAT HIS VISION IS STILL IN PLACE TODAY????? Based on my experience on Saturday, I can tell you that your team has only lost the original philosophy; they have lost their way, plain and simple, and are headed for a major failure. It will be a sad day when I read about the doors closing on this icon.

It has been almost two years since I was there, but others in my group go often as it's close to their home. It's about 45 minutes from the house for me, but we set out in afternoon Atlanta traffic and made it there in about 55 minutes. It was worth the drive. We love a classic Chicago dog! The onion rings were good too, just served warm. I thought they were making them fresh since the front counter girl yelled back that she needed three orders of onion rings. The service was ok...just like any other fast food restaurant these days. We really don't expect great service from the front counter workers anymore and Skip's was no different. (I will rave on my reviews when I do get great customer service.) We had a group of seven so we had to eat outside as the biggest table inside only seats four and we didn't want to sit separately. It was a cool evening, but was about the same temperature inside the restaurant. All in all, we will be back one day when we feel like taking a drive.

It's in a food hall so where it's at you have free parking. It's a really nice building and it looks like it was a food hall building that won some awards for aesthetics so it's very nice to look at. You'll come in and there's nobody to greet you, but there are people walking around and people behind the stalls and you have plenty of options to pick from. And it's kind of a multi-room situation because one part of the establishment has a lot of the food hall stalls and the other part of it has a couple stalls, some rooms you can probably reserve, and a very large bar. They have plenty of specials on some signage screens so if you go in just be aware of that. They have events like happy hour and music being played on a live situation and some other thing so just keep that in mind. Anyway, specifically about the hot dog situation, I ordered and got a beeper when it was ready. I got it and it was okay. It seemed like it was more chilly than it was dog. And because I'm from Michigan, I'm very critical on what a Coney dog should be like. Do you want the hot dog to be covered but not drowned in the chili. So not that it's bad but as you can guess this got pretty messy LOL. I thought it was tasty. It's not like home but it was pretty good. When I try other hot dogs from there, I would actually. I definitely would. It was a pretty good experience because I got the wok and see what other places were there so that was nice. But I had to do the Coney because it reminded me a little bit of home LOL.
