Great food. Breakfast is super good Their pancakes are fluffy and sweet. Burgers and lobster rolls are cooked just right. Good fries and onion rings. The only negative thing that keeps them from a five is cleanliness. Windows need washing and the ladies bathroom is not very clean. Which it should be. The food was great. Had a group of 44 and service was super. The lobster roll was a really nice serving with options of warm with butter or cold. No one left hungry! There were indoor tables as well as open air alcove seating which was nice as we were outdoors but protected from the sun. read more

We were very disappointed in the food and service. This restaurant is always seems to be busy so we decided to give it a shot. Isn't wasn't busy however it took forever to be waited on and our waitress was no where to be found most of the time . The food wasn't cheap however reasonably priced. Oh wow-the lobster rolls are phenomenal. Unfortunately, the fries were not. I should've tried the coleslaw instead. This is a cute little place on the street behind the main drag of Venice Ave. There are some cute little shops around the restaurant too. Based on our most recent visit, I'm going to say the food and service are hit or miss here. Last year on vacation we came twice and enjoyed the food. I didn't write a review at the time so I don't remember the details. This time I was disappointed. I had the seafood Benedict. The seafood was overcooked and the hollandaise was underwhelming. Definitely not the best. We normally order two Bloody Marys, but these were not great either, so we stopped at one. The mix was heavy and flavorless even though we asked for extra spicy. The bacon and potatoes were pretty good. My friend had the shrimp and grits and felt there was way too much cheese and sausage and not enough grits. Her shrimp were also overcooked. Our other friend had an omelette and he asked for the eggs to be lightly cooked. They were overcooked and he did not enjoy his meal. The service was very slow and our meals weren't brought out at the same time. When my Benedict finally came out, the waitress apologized for the wait saying the cook broke the egg so she made him redo it. I read the same comment by another reviewer, so this is clearly a line she uses to soften the blow of having to wait and make herself look better. My husband did enjoy his breakfast burrito, but we most likely won't return. read more

The one star rating is for the fried clams. My wife and I have been coming here for 8 years usually 2 times a month for the fried clams as they are about as good as in Maine where we are from. I grew up working in the seafood restaurant business and I know good fried clams. The last two times we were there the whole clams were overcooked to the point of being like pretzels, told the server and she said she would notify the kitchen manager. I don't know if they have changed cooks or manager but they are going to ruin their reputation as a good seafood restaurant if they don't figure out what they are sending out of the kitchen. I won't consider a referral to my friends for good food until I get back there and see if things have changed. read more

Ordered eggs Benedict on wheat toast, toast was very soggy because they put pico de gallo directly on the toast. My friend ordered an egg white omelet, was happy with the large portion size but part of her omelet in the middle was very runny. Lobster roll is just a bunch of lobster pieces on a gross garlic bread. Normal lobster rolls call for lobster meat, mayonnaise, lemon juice, celery, parsley, and salt and pepper. Do not go there if you want your waiter to be wearing a mask over their nose and mouth. Our waiter said that her face was a shape that she couldn't wear a mask in the proper way. Why on earth would anybody want to eat at this place? Well, for one thing, their in-restaurant menu has all the items listed in their online menu, unlike a certain, previously reviewed restaurant across the street (Abby's on Miami). Second, we found the experience to be very good overall. Service was fast and very friendly, and the food quality was very good. We were a party of four for this one. Two of us, myself included, had the seafood benedict. One diner had the veggie omelet, and one person cannot remember what she had but says it was excellent. My benedict took a bit more time to get to the table because they had broken one of the egg yolks during preparation and were redoing it. Thumbs up for not attempting to foist a mistake off on the customer! The amount of seafood on the benedict was generous without being ridiculous; the eggs were perfectly cooked; and the hollandaise was above average. The veggie omelet was generously apportioned with vegetables, and got a thumbs up from the consumer. The benedict came with potatoes that were nicely spiced and properly cooked. All things considered, this was a very pleasant dining experience, and I expect that we will repeat it again some time in the future. read more

My husband and I had a late lunch there on Friday and ordered the clam plate and a clam roll. The clams were tasteless. It was like eating fried breading instead of fried clams. When the Dad was running the restaurant they had the best fried oysters and clams with such a light breading that you could actually taste the clams. First, I have always liked their food. However, I will NOT be returning there for the foreseeable future. This morning I called and asked specifically if the wait staff were wearing masks. I was assured they were.
