This spot was packed when I arrived on a weekday for lunch. This is a secret local spot for sure! Menu items are fresh and made to order with quality ingredients. I ordered the Hawaiian sandwich (crab and shrimp salad) served on the most amazing banana roll bread I've ever had. My lunch included blue tortilla chips and a slice of cantaloupe! This gem has been around for years and they just seem to improve with time. Took my daughter there for lunch and it was a pleasurable treat. Inside or outside covered seating, very pleasant wait staff and a variety of healthy sandwiches, salads and crepes just to name a few choices from their menu. Specialtie and healthy drinks highlight their menu as well. My choice for lunch was the turkey club and daughter had grilled chicken salad bowl. Absolutely no complaints. Service is okay but you can tell they are a tip pooled establishment no one is in a rush whatsoever. Prices are a bit high for the food and setting. Coffees are delicious! Delicious! We were with a group of 5 so we had a pretty good collection of entrees to sample. The breakfast burrito was served fresh and had a little spice to it. The oatmeal and yogurt are great light options and were also wonderful. My dad said the breakfast tacos were the best he has ever had. Well, well, well! We finally found our lunch place! Yuuuumy!!! Right in town too! Extra delicious fresh homemade food! Reminds us of a place we used to eat in Seattle! I rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent visit was disappointing on several fronts. The food, unfortunately, just didn't meet expectations. What made the experience more uncomfortable, though, was the service. Our server, Erin, was noticeably curt throughout the afternoon. Beyond the lack of warmth, some of her comments felt personally intrusive in a way that made my tablemates and me uneasy. I'm all for friendly conversation, but this crossed the line into territory that didn't feel appropriate for a dining setting. I truly hope these issues are addressed, because the restaurant has potential--but based on this visit, I can't recommend it. read more

We dropped in for lunch. I was very happy to find a healthy selection instead of typical beach/bar type food. We enjoyed fresh salads with tasty dressings. The smoothie tasted great, but made my husband's blood sugar skyrocket. i'm pretty sure part of the smoothie has some kind of added sugar, even though they said it didn't. They have a large covered patio area with lots of fans so we weren't too hot. The menu is very diverse with gluten free and plant based options. We went with the white mango sangria and we're not disappointed. Finished every last drop including eating the fruit from the bottom. Our meals were also very satisfying. Mangos Bistro is excellent! Not only is the food phenomenal, fresh ingredients, gluten friendly menu, prolific coffee bar; the staff was exceptionally sweet and on their toes! My fiancé and I visited back several times and with each visit the staff remembered our drinks, and gave us suggestions on what we might like based on our previous orders. We had my niece's bridal shower in November. It was absolutely perfect for a small party of 16 people. The back area had enough room for 2 tables of 8 plus a gift area and cake table. Loved the colorful decor. The manager & waitress were so helpful and made the day very special! Sandwiches and homemade soups were absolutely delicious! It was okay. Wasn't a huge fan. I got a pulled pork burrito, I forget the exact name. Maybe I just didn't order the best thing for me. The other people I was with seemed to like their lunch. It's a cute place. A couple tables inside and more outside under a covered area. You can order drinks to go inside too. The waitresses were all really nice. We had a short wait for a table. A longer wait for our food than expected considering it's all sandwich type stuff but not terrible. My biggest gripe, there were not changing tables in the bathrooms! I have never been to a restaurant that didn't have them. I had to change my baby in the car. It was not ideal. read more

As permanent residents of Englewood we're so glad Dearborn Street is open and 99% completed for the local businesses. It's been a long time coming. We took a break from our new ritual of looking for contractors and dealing with the insurance company after hurricane Ian and went to Mango Bistro for lunch. Always an enjoyable experience when we go. We love the vegan options along with many other choices. Mango Bistro has something for everyone's tastes. The Saturday we went there was a car show along Dearborn St.. Plenty of cars for all to enjoy. We love watching a big block muscle car with a tall cam cruising through while eating lunch. Please go to Dearborn St in Englewood and enjoy everything the Mango Bistro offers and visit all the local shops too.... This place was very good at one time But since they have made a sharp turn to the left this place has gone down hill The menu is aimed at a small portion of the eating public The food is bad the restaurant is filthy I went to the bathroom and there was urine on the seat and the floor The TWO BATHROOMS ARE GENDER NEUTRAL YUCK !!! VERY UNSANITARY !!!! I wouldn't want my wife to use them even if she stood or squatted over the toilet I have to wonder why more women don't complain especially the female waitstaff Please do Englewood a huge favor and please close your doors for good. And then on to two Boeuf Bourguignons for the ladies. My friend had a medium-rare Filet de Boeuf and I had a Canard a l'Orange (one of my favorite dishes) also medium-rare. Each of the dishes was exceptional. For drinks we had sparkling water and a decent house Pinot Noir. My friend took a nonalcoholic wine and a beer. We ended up with an excellent Lemon Cream and I had to have an espresso. The meal was expensive ($332 to which I added a $70 tip) but it was all well worth it. We were visiting from the Boston area, and if we lived in the vicinity we would undoubtedly be regular patrons. I seldom give a restaurant five stars but this one deserves it. I will recommend highly the place. It was one of the best French meals and restaurants at which we have dined in the States.

The elegance of the dining room atmosphere, the wait staff, and presentation of the food was not overlooked and executed to a level where you can tell the staff truly cares about the diner's experience. The pre fixe menu is simple enough to not get lost in, and wide enough to keep you coming back for more. Everything we ordered was delicious, unique, and contained a French twist. The special was tilefish, we ordered several kinds of seafood including lobster, crab, and snapper while I had the lamb saddle. Personally speaking the blue crab avocado appetizer was something I had to order because of all the pictures I had seen, and it did not disappoint. The romulade alongside the dish gave it a fresh, elegant bite which was rich but bright. The Colorado lamb saddle had the texture of a well prepared filet mignon perfectly baked inside of a puff pastry. I was calling it a lamb wellington for fun, but that may have been the most I have ever enjoyed a lamb dish. It was hearty, and perfectly balanced between tender meat, crisp crust, and savory sauce. The pineapple dessert was light, refreshing, and felt like a unique cross between a tangy desert and a sweet airy coconut whipped ice cream. I was however very jealous of the others that ordered the rich chocolate soufflé. 10/10. I would say this is a necessary experience for anyone that lives in the area.

To be honest, I am a little shocked by the reviews below. The only reason I can think of that people would not enjoy the food at Mango Bistro would be because they were expecting large quantities of fried food or perhaps safe and uncreative options. Please don't allow a few misguided reviewers keep you from atleast trying and deciding for yourself about Mango Bistro - it's worth it! No. This is not your typical Englewood, FL restaurant - if that's what you're hoping for, then this is not the place for you. However, if you like hand crafted meals with fresh and real ingredients then please stop in to Mango Bistro. I have been to Mango Bistro countless times and never get the same thing. The menu always offers something creative, healthy, and delicious. The service is wonderful and consistent and it is always a pleasure to eat at Mango bistro. Stop in on a Friday or Saturday evening to listen to some wonderful music and maybe have a glass of wine (ask Ricardo for recommendations, he'd love to help you find Wine that is really great quality but still cheaply priced. He knows his wines!). I think Mango Bistro is the #1 rated restaurant in Englewood - and for a reason. The food is DELICIOUS, the atmosphere is fun and colorful, and the service is reliable. Wonderful catering experience! We live out of state and were looking for a local restaurant that could cater a small amount of food for a family friend with some medical issues. Both Maria and Ricardo were wonderful to deal with. Maria customized a menu that would easily keep and stay fresh for a few days to feed the family. She was so helpful with her suggestions. Ricardo made sure (even in a tropical storm with no power!) to get my invoice to me quickly so that I could pay and the order was delivered to them the next day. Mango Bistro is a wonderful place to take out-of-town guests to show off the best of Olde Englewood Village on Dearborn Street. They serve crepes, wraps, salads and soups.
