It's the perfect time to score great deals and gifts. Parking is plentiful, the store is always clean and well organized, and they offer in-store pickup, which is super convenient. During my daughter's 14th birthday celebration, staff members engaged in unprofessional behavior that caused significant emotional distress. An employee disregarded my parental instructions and pressured my daughter to try on inappropriate clothing sizes while making hurtful comments regarding her body image, specifically telling her she needed to "lose 15 pounds." Furthermore, staff provided age-inappropriate clothing to an 8-year-old child in our group and encouraged her to model it in front of adult male spectators. This occurred despite my specific instructions to the contrary. When a male adult was asked to leave, employees instead encouraged his presence, creating a highly inappropriate and unsafe environment for minors. As a registered nurse specializing in pediatric emergency psychiatric trauma, I recognize these actions as psychological harassment. This experience triggered a severe anxiety attack for my daughter and has resulted in ongoing depression and social isolation. The interaction occurred in a co-ed dressing area where staff actively encouraged male patrons in their 40s who were not purchasing items to observe, compromising my children's safety and privacy. I have recorded evidence of these interactions and will act accordingly depending on your response with this information and willing to assist amicably. However, I have a duty to the public and act and respond like a prudent and competent nurse. It's an easy thing for me to address but understand the company would never support those employees choosing to represent crimes against children and respected professionals. I am requesting a formal review of this incident and a prompt explanation of the corrective actions being taken. Given the severity of the trauma inflicted, I expect an acknowledgment of these violations and a direct apology to my daughter. I look forward to your prompt response to resolve this matter. This is the Express which is a little bit cheaper than the other Express stores that you might find around the country in malls, because it's a factory outlet, but it's not that much cheaper unless there's a big sale on so I recommend coming here when there is indeed a big sale on. I like it but it's not exactly what I have in mind along the lines of my style so it's a little hit or miss in that regard. I recently purchased two sets of Nautica socks at the Ross on Kirby in Houston…read more When I got home and tried them on, I found that they were slippery and made my shoes squeak (probably why they were at Ross). Living 50 miles, I called ahead and was told by the person on the phone that there wouldn't be a problem returning socks without a receipt. I made the trip in rush hour traffic (seriously), only to be told by the manager, who confirmed that she was actually the same person I talked to on the phone, that no return could be made without the original packaging. I replied that the socks didn't come in a package, only a wraparound sticker and a plastic fastener. She replied that she knew this, but considered those things to be the package. Really?!? To any sane person, those things are just trash! I suggested that she just scan an identical item from the shelf, but she refused, saying something like there was a chance of scanning the wrong one. I knew that there were only two versions of this product, though, because I had bought one of each version! It's standard practice for retail stores to grab a matching product from the shelf in order to scan the UPC. Her refusal to do so seemed to be a deliberate attempt to save face and deny my reasonable request. This misleading info and poor service wasted my time and fuel. I reached out to the corporate office, to give them a chance to make this right, but all they did was quote the return policy, which I did not run afoul of. To be more specific, the return policy does not require that the item be in its original packaging. I will be happy to remove my poor review of Ross Stores when they issue me a refund. Until then, y'all are better off going to the competition. There's plenty out there.
