Came here for the first time. Everyone was super amazing! From the receptionist to the dental hygienist to the dentist and other staff walking by that smiled at my baby. Coming into the office was also a treat! Felt like I was walking into someone's living room. There was a cute small Christmas tree with little smores ornaments, a bookshelf with a few toys, and a shelf with some nice big books. The cleaning with Daniella went well. There was also a chair for me to sit and feed the baby while it was going on. She reviewed how we could do better which was very helpful. Eek! I'm so ashamed that I have yet to write a review for our darling pediatric dentist office. We have been coming here for about 2? 3? Years now, and have had 0 issues thus far. When my toddler first came here shortly after 1.5, naturally she was scared. Cue the cries and unwillingness to open her mouth, yet the dentist and the assistants have always been so kind and understanding. Even at that young of an age, they were able to still complete a cleaning that was age-appropriate. Having heard stories of others who take their toddlers to an adult dentist, it is a wooorld of a difference, I.e., they look at the kids teeth and that's basically it. The goodie bag with a little stuffie always is an always nice touch as well. Despite always being traumatized during the actual cleaning, she always was excited to go to the dentist. And then after a certain age, the dentist asked her to sit all by herself (she was previously in our lap). I was SO unsure about it, but she magically stopped crying. Shes now a such a pro at sitting for them, and continues to love coming here. Our little one is now 1.5 and is having the same struggles as big sister. He has an extremely sensitive gag reflex and unfortunately threw up at the office just yesterday, but again, they were so nice about it. Their office is extremely clean, has ample parking, and ALL of the workers are so nice. Thank you Burlingame Pediatric Dentistry for your magic touch! We love coming here! Just came here last week for my 14 month old's first dental appointment. According to my friend, you're supposed to go as soon as your kid has teeth. BUT baby boy has had stranger danger before having teeth and that "phase" hasn't quite passed yet - so I had a lot of anxiety about bringing him because I actually remember my first time at the dentist too (it was not fun.) Anyhoo, brought him in and right away we were greeted by a very kind and patient receptionist. We filled out some paperwork and were situated in a room pretty quickly. The entire experience went pretty well - tears were definitely shed, but I had mentally prepared for it. Everyone was extremely nice and understanding. They even put a little toy dog in their hygiene kit for us to bring home and distract from a total meltdown. Very happy with our treatment and the entire team there! See you in six months! read more

Just took my 2.5 yr old for her first dentist appt! I'd been putting it off for a while because my daughters been going through a clingy uncooperative phase but finally thought she may be able to get through an appt. Burlingame pediatrics office is sooo nice and inviting, that my daughter felt right at home, and went straight for the kid books to read and talking about the decorations. The staff was equally kind and inviting and also the forms they sent out ahead of time aside from medical and insurance questions, asked what things my daughter likes. One of the things I listed was Moana and when we got to the exam room, Moana was on the tv and my daughter immediately saw it and was excited l. Dr Smith and her team were so great with my daughter. They were patient, clearly explain what they were going to do before they did it and made it sound fun and more like play. Dr Smith did a great job explaining the kinds of things that cause cavities and what good habits we can build and alternative suggestions for things to do -- such as my daughter still wants a bottle in bed at bedtime so I've only been brushing her teeth in the morning, but because it's most important to brush at night she suggested I just give a brush in bed with a rice size amount of fluoride toothpaste. We've been doing that now for a week and it's going well. We will eventually give up the bottle but this was a good interim solution. Dr Smith was empathetic about picking our battles on what to give up and when and that it's okay to do things at our own pace. My daughter got through the whole exam with no fuss and felt comfortable enough to talk to Dr Smith and the team too! We will definitely be continuing our dental care here. read more

We've been seeing Dr. Zaul since our firstborn turned 1 (he's almost 3 now and his sister just turned 1) and there's no way we can sing enough praises to her and the whole crew at Burlingame Pediatric Dentistry! First off, scheduling is super easy breezy--their website is intuitive, and then their follow-up text reminders and any links to paperwork/digital signatures are simple, practical, and efficient. And then when you actually step into the offices... HOLY MOLY. What a freaking cute space! Not only is it entirely kid/toddler friendly, but also it's impeccably clean and super welcoming--like a literal pinterest board of my dreams!! The staff are all so friendly, patient, and hospitable. As for the actual dental work/cleaning/exams, Dr. Zaul is so SO good with my young kids. She's so very sweet, incredibly patient, and is creative in her approach in working with each kids' temperaments and personalities. Even with high-def flatscreens distracting the kids above each dental chair with Disney+, my kids are much more into Dr. Zaul's fun and gentle explanations/demonstrations of each tool she's using and her engaging renditions of popular educational toddler songs. I think what's probably one of the biggest highlights is how Dr. Zaul and the staff make you feel like you're part of the team. They never talk at or down to you and they are thoughtful in explaining things in a way that is easily understandable. Most of all, I don't ever feel judged by them and there is never any mom guilt! It truly feels like a collaborative and transparent process. And then they send each kid home with a goody bag with age-appropriate toys and stuff to maintain good oral hygiene. We heard of Burlingame Pediatric Dentistry through word-of-mouth and was a little hesitant because we live a little far away, but honestly, all of this makes our 40-minute commute, each way, well worth it. One of their receptionists was rude to us during our visit with kids. She rushed us in a really unfriendly tone while we were asking the second question to try to finish the payment she requested. Instead of answering our questions regarding payment, she impatiently in a rude tone asked us to step away quickly since there were other patients waiting. Sounded to me that she only wanted us to get the payment done and didn't care if we had any questions. The fact was we turned around and see literally no body was waiting behind us in the line. We asked to talk to her supervisor. Another customer with her child came later. They got upset with her too for a different situation. It was very unpleasant to experience it and see things happen like this with the kids. We thought this place could be a good place for the kids forever, but unfortunately it didn't happen that way. read more

I have been taking my son here from age 2 (he is now 6) and just started taking my daughter here too. The entire staff here is phenomenally friendly and helpful -- they really know how to make kids feel comfortable (and even excited) when going to the dentist. Calm waiting area with nice music and a few toys. TVs mounted above the chairs. Stickers and gift bags for kids. They pay attention to all these details, but the really amazing thing is how the hygienists and dentists explain everything they are doing and treat the patients with patience and kindness. read more

I brought my 21 month old twins for their first dental appointment to see Dr Smith and they did as expected - they cried, but Dr Smith maintained her composure through it all. Before beginning the lap exam, she showed each twin the instruments she was going to use and let them touch and feel. She was very gentle and sweet through it all. The office itself was very cute and I loved the outdoor/camping theme. Everything was very clean and organized. The bathroom is super baby/kid friendly, they provide diapers in various sizes and wipes just in case you forget to bring your own( we all know this has happened to us parents!). Dr. Zaul is a wizard. A very patient, playful wizard able to get my reluctant 3 year old to open her mouth and let Dr. Zaul clean her teeth. When we left, she said "oooo, that doctor is very nice!" I appreciate the covid protocols they're taking with going through the treatment plan and medical surveying online ahead of time. They have people text from the parking lot and let them know when to come in. My family and I recently changed our insurance so I was looking for a pediatric dentist around the Peninsula. I came across Burlingame Pediatric Dentistry through YELP and saw that they've had great some great reviews. I was able to get an appointment within 2 weeks. I received all the New patient forms online and was able to fill that out for my kids prior to the appointment- which was very convenient because it was one less thing to do when we got there. Another thing that I admire on their Patient Q&A form was the fact that it wasn't your typical Dentist history form. There were questions in there that were geared towards actually getting to know their patient (any past traumatizing dental events, what type of things do they like etc etc.) I just feel like they went above and beyond to make sure that the experience would be pleasant for the kids. During the check-in, they've established/implemented protocols to help ensure patient safety during this whole pandemic. Once again, it was all seamless with a great flow. During our appointment we were greeted by Dr. Smith and Ally who were beyond amazing to both of my kids. Very patient, explained everything-they were doing.
