My boys have been coming here since they were a little over 1 (almost 4 now). Whenever we come, Dr. Pham and his team is so friendly and patient with our talkative, energetic boys. They ask a lot of questions and curious about all their tools and yet, they take the time to answer and make them feel comfortable. We've never felt rushed. They make it a point for the kids to enjoy their visit. They have legos at the front that you can ask to play with to keep them busy while they wait. During the visit, they can play a movie to watch while they lay down to distract them. And after the visit, they have a lot of stickers to choose from. And they also offer a coin from the gum ball machine for a small toy to come out (no gums/candies) that my boys love to use and watch the toy roll down. We've always had such a great experience coming, so much that our boys ask when's their next dentist visit haha. The staff accommodates our schedule well and tries to get them in a back to back or same time slot appt, very helpful for us busy parents. Keep in mind they only have 1 or limited Saturdays open a month, so book early. The only area that could use improvement is the front desk. Greetings are inconsistent when we walk in, and when they do occur, they can come across as perfunctory and not genuine. I work in healthcare as well and understand how busy things can get, but a simple smile, a gesture to sit down, or a quick "hold please" to acknowledge my presence goes a long way. For a pediatric office, they could definitely be more welcoming. Otherwise they're straightforward to work with. Overall highly recommend. Big plus, they take Delta Dental insurance. read more

We were looking for a new pediatric dentist and found Phamily Pediatric Dentistry. I made an appointment for both my kids to get their cleaning at the same time. Both had their polish and cleaning done in tandem and then Dr. Pham came by and did their exams. He has great bedside manner and made the kids feel comfortable. He was also thorough in explaining things to me as the parent and helping me understand what I could be doing better of to better take care of my kids' teeth. Each area is set up with a TV monitor on the screen playing a kid friendly movie which distracts the child when they are in the chair. They also got some stickers after their service and when checking out at the front, they got some coins that they could put into a gum ball machine and get some prizes. When I was a kid, there was no wifi, or smart phones, or smart cars, or smart appliances. Come to think of it, fire had just been recently invented and was starting to really catch on. Or was it the wheel that was on a roll? Anywho, there definitely wasn't pediatric dentists that I knew of, and if there were, I didn't go to one. I just went to the same dentist my folks went to and that was that. It kinda explains why my not-so-little one is so good about seeing Dr. Pham - he makes check-ups easy peasy. First of all, the place is not your typical dentist's office - it's a converted home with a calm and inviting space; although, I went to the wrong house and startled some folks. There's also plenty of tvs playing kiddie movies to distract both children and parents. But what I really like is the openness of the office: white walls and spacing really makes it feel roomy. The second, and most important, thing is Dr. Pham and staff are amazing at putting the kids (and yours truly) at ease. To this day, I'm haunted by the sound of my sister crying whenever I hear that drill, and I never wanted my girl to go through that. Fortunately, the only crying you'll hear at Dr. Pham's office is from me while I watch the ending of Coco (or some other well-crafted Disney film that pulls at the heartstrings). I wonder if Dr. Pham would consider seeing adults as well as kids. I promise I'd behave. read more

I'm so sad that I'm moving away. I took my youngest baby and my preteen boy here and I loved every second. Dr.Pham is just a PRO. From the start to the end of every appointment he was ON POINT. The staff is ON POINT as well. Super welcoming and polite. They even called me when the appt prior to mine was overlapping line to make sure I wasn't rushing in. The location is right off the freeway. A tight parking lot- but blessed to have a parking lot to begin with. The office is CLEAN and BRIGHT. This review is long overdue. My kids have been seeing Dr Pham for a very long time now. And we will continue to do so Dr. Pham & his staff have always been very kind, informative and patient. Always flexible with scheduling and have been knowledgeable when planning for the unexpected. I am just very grateful that (so far) we are only there for routine check-ups. It is very easy to get to Dr. Pham's place. Easy freeway access, close to Tanforan Mall & Bayhill Shopping Plaza. Plenty of parking which has never been a hassle. The office space is clean & tidy with hand sanitizer within reach if necessary. Plastic barrier at the Front Desk to protect both the staff & us. I am just so impressed with Dr. Pham and his staff. I go to Bayhill for my dental care and scheduled two appointments for my daughter there, which did not end well. They referred her to Chompers, but when I tried to schedule, their schedule was not conducive to my daughter's school schedule. You would think they would be open on the weekends since their patients go to school? Well, I was referred to Dr. Pham by a good friend who brings her granddaughter there and since I really trust my friend, I called. The intake process was a lot smoother and Dr. Pham also had Saturday appointments. When we came in, the place appeared very friendly, and although my daughter refused to do her x-rays in the beginning, the staff did not push it and instead we switched to the tooth exam instead. Dr. Pham was very skilled at getting my daughter comfortable! He actually examined her while she was held by my husband AND was able to brush her teeth etc. My hubby actually got emotional because we thought this appointment was going to be a bust like the others, lol. My daughter was so comfortable at the end of the exam, that she allowed staff to do x-rays on her teeth. We are soooo impressed with Dr. Pham's practice and very grateful with how he handled my daughter. Also, there were no hidden fees and everything was straightforward, (in comparison to the reviews I read of Chompers on yelp). We will be back in 1/2023! read more

All staff here is kind and genuine. We were originally at a different pediatric dental office and I was reluctant to make the switch. I'm glad I did because the staff here is wonderful. They made my children feel comfortable and they went above and beyond to ensure they got the stickers and toys they wanted. I know that sounds trivial but for anyone with small children, we all try to avoid the impending meltdowns. We've gone through 3 others pediatric dentists and none of them come anywhere close to the professionalism of this team. - They are always on time with their appointments. - They let you know and ask for your permission for whatever they are going to do before they dive into it. - They explain procedures that will be or need to be done. - They recap what was done. - They do not do unnecessary things just to be able to charge for them. Dr. Pham has been my son's dentist since he was a toddler. He is very professional, kind, gentle and efficient. He explains and communicates throughly the treatment and makes our son comfortable. There was just one incident recently with his office staff, Perla, that needs more training with customer service. She was argumentative, not appreciative of my time and effort coordinating with the other insurance company so they would get paid for services provided to my son in March 2022. A simple apology would have been appreciated but I guess it was really hard for her to show humility. I hope that other patient's family will not experience the same situation that I had with Perla. Yesterday my 4 year old son fell down at school and we thought he cracked one of his front teeth and chipped his other front tooth in the corner. We went to the dentist for the first time in Redwood City and he had a very good experience but when I called them yesterday after the incident, they schedule an appointment for Monday which I thought was weird because I thought they would consider this an emergency and was hoping they could see him immediately. I posted on the SM moms FB group and Dr Pham came highly recommended. I called his office this morning and they were able to squeeze my son in for a same day 10:30 AM appointment. The staff at the front desk was very helpful to run my insurance (Delta Dental) to give me an estimate on the services. Thankfully it all worked out and the copay was not bad at all! We came in and his assistant was very kind to my son, I went in with him to the dental office and there was a waiting bench for me to sit at. I could tell my son was nervous but he went ahead and went with his assistant for xrays and did great. Dr Pham came in to introduce himself and my son was watching Encanto on the TV on the ceiling. Everything was very clean and Dr Pham explained to me that the root had to be removed and he was going to shave the other tooth to make it smooth, that same day! He had a very calm demeanor and was very caring. He explained once he took the root out, my son would feel much better because his nerve was showing. I could see he was very gentle with his practice and his assistant was rubbing my sons head which put him at ease. I was so impressed with how smooth the process went and I was out of the office by 11:00! There was bleeding for about 30 minutes and swelling at first but and as the day went on, my sons gum sensitivity and pain level was like night and day and the swelling has gone down a lot. I was so impressed and thankful for Dr Pham and his team they all did an amazing job! My son and I both decided after that visit that we would change our regular dentist to Dr Pham! read more

Together they offer wonderful care to all three of my children from toddler thru their teen years. Busy parents can appreciate how efficient the front & back end staff are to booking the most convenient appointment for your needs. I love how they can treat all my children simultaneously without sacrificing the quality of the services provided. The waiting area is in the same area as the clinic so the whole family can stay together in one room. Books, a few educational toys, and the Lego table keep children occupied until their turn. Several TV's are located in the office, including ceiling-mounted screens to provide the younger patients with entertainment while they're reclined in their chairs. Each visit is personal and my kids can sense how much Dr. Pham genuinely cares about his patients which puts them at ease. No fussing in the chair, they're all smiles after their exams and cleanings. To end the visits, the kids sent off with goodie bags full of dental hygiene treats (toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, etc.) to last until the next 6 month check up. I brought my son in to see Dr. Pham for a second opinion and right from the beginning you could tell a difference in the practices comparing the previous one I went to. Here, they were friendly, supportive, compassionate, and professional. We first met the ladies in the front who were very attentive and helpful, then The dental assistant named Maria who was very sweet came out and calmed my son's nerves with stickers, which helped a lot then we met Dr. Pham who is absolutely amazing! He talked us through the steps and explained everything, he made us feel heard and assured us are worries are valid. I don't usually write reviews on yelp but this time i would! This is the best pediatric i have even put my kids in. Getting an appointment is soooo easy! I cant emphasize how easy it went with scheduling and i love love how frontdesk explained how my out of network insurance works! They do not collect upfront and just bill your insurance directly. Fast forward on the day of the appointment, we are greeted with so much grace by them and the nurse who got my kiddos are very friendly and has a very soft voice that will not scare your kiddos! And for Dr.Pham, the best! He explained everything that is going on with my daughters and even explained the best way to encourage and brush your kids teeth! But my experience didn't end there, upon checking out they let my kids picked their own sticker and a prize in a gumball machine (not pretty sure this is what it is called) and my kids got a random toy that they did not like and they are giving me sad eyes and Lauren (or Laurice I shouldve asked for her name twice) is to the rescue!! This was our son's (2 years old) first visit to a pediatric dentist. We took him to our dentist a couple months ago and he would not open his mouth. Dr. Pham was recommended to us by our friends. These guys were amazing!!! They made the process fun and easy from the start. I brought in my 4 year old and 20 month old and they both left without shedding a tear and had big smiles.
