I'm a total farm girl and I enjoy having nice cowgirl boots while doing farm chores. This location…read morewas completely unexpected and I'm so glad it's here. They have a huge selection of boots for men, women and kids along with clothing and hats. The service was great and the store is very clean and well lit. The best value in my opinion are the Ariat boots. They are comfortable, high quality and last a long time! I do plan on trying some other brands here in the future.

We walked to the left to the hat section and two employees (Diego and Javer) were working in that section. Diego was trying on hats and Javer was going through the hats attempting to find one that would fit Diego. My husband and I started to look around the hat section without being greeted or asked if we need any help. The two employees were too busy fitting Diego for a hat. After about 3 to 4 minutes of us standing around looking for a hat, Javer finally asked if we needed any help. Diego was steaming and stretching a hat for his personal use. He stated the hat didn't sit right but he needed to get a haircut and maybe it would fit. My husband found a hat he like without the help of the employees and had question. Javer did stated that they didn't have the equipment to block a hat in the store and asked us to leave a review in hopes corporate would buy a hat block for the store. The two employees were more interested in finding Diego a hat that fit than working with paying customers right in front of them. We did purchase a straw hat but I don't think we will be shopping there again.

5 Stars - A Game-Changing Experience at DXL Merrillville!…read more I want to take a moment to give a huge thank you to the incredible team at DXL in Merrillville--especially Connie and Scott--for completely changing my day for the better. After feeling ignored by four associates at Men's Wearhouse, my wife and I decided to head over to DXL. I've shopped at DXL before, but this visit was different--I needed my measurements taken. To my surprise, not only did they offer to take them, but they also had cutting-edge computer scanning technology to do it! Connie, who is an absolute pro at what she does, gave me the option to either go with the classic measuring tape or try out the scan. Naturally, I went with the tech--and Connie guided me through every step. But it didn't stop there. Once the measurements were done, Connie's true gift shined--she put together a variety of looks that I would have never thought of myself. I have several upcoming events, and she gave me stylish, versatile outfit combinations that just worked. Her sense of style, her attention to what flatters every body type, and her ability to pair colors and patterns is next-level. I walked out feeling confident and excited about my new wardrobe. Then we met Scott, who was also fantastic. What really stood out was when Scott--without us saying a word--apologized for the experience we had at Men's Wearhouse. I told him honestly: I'm glad they ignored us... because it brought us to DXL where Connie blew us away. Thanks to Connie and Scott, building a wardrobe for this new season in my life isn't a stress--it's something I'm now excited about. Connie has gained a customer for life.

I have shopped many times at this store and not sure what took me so long to write a review…read more The store is pretty big and they have clothing for the entire family here. The prices are pretty reasonable and on top of the already decent prices the sales are usually jaw dropping. Talk about organized, the place is pretty clean and well stocked . No searching thru a ton of mess or looking around for a sales associate to help you.

Horrible customer service at this location. My husband tried to return a shirt there that did not…read morefit our son, the lady who he dealt with, a girl with purple hair, told him he could't return it giving him no explanation why and that it needed to be returned by mail. Now I didn't want to do that because with covid and the holidays shipping is currently taking forever no matter where you purchase from. So I decided to call the store, I spoke to a woman named Ginger, the supposed manager according to her, to see why they couldn't return my item, when I have done this before at another H&M and have had no problem. She told me a warning sign popped up on her screen and they couldn't return it. Then she tried telling me that H&M was the the third party and that the reason she couldn't return it was on Klarna and that I needed to speak with them if I wanted to return it. Um I'm not stupid, if anything Klarna is the third party, I'm buying directly from H&M so it's their return policy that I have to deal with not anyone else's. So I called H&M customer service and they called the store directly and spoke to this same person Ginger. Ginger told them something completely different than what she told me. She said they can't return items at that mall that are purchased with Klarna. Ok so why couldn't she just tell me that instead of giving me the run around?! I explained to the nice lady over the phone what Ginger tried telling me and the woman filed a complaint on her for lying to me the customer. Bottom line is i will never step foot in this H&M again, I would rather travel the 40 minutes to the one in Michigan City or to one in Illinois. When I was speaking to Ginger over the phone she was completely rude and kept talking over me. She even tried telling me that I probably couldn't return it because I haven't made the full payment yet?! If anyone knows how Klarna works you make payments over 8 weeks time, well over the 30 day return policy most stores have. Like I said she must have thought I was stupid. I'd advise anyone to stay away from this H&M and Ginger.

I was still contemplating which fishnets to pick, and she came back not even 15 seconds later asking if I needed help. I said no thank you. After picking the pair I wanted, I turned around to look at the clothes behind me on the wall, and was just perusing. She then came back immediately and asked if I needed anything AGAIN or if I wanted anything off the wall. This was all under the span of like, two minutes. I said no and she left but I could see her kind of circling around where I was standing. Some other customers were helped here and there. I finally needed help getting something down. She got it and took my tights to the register while I tried on my skirt, didn't fit, I put it back. I went to look at shirts. I am helped by another lady who gets the shirt down, it is too big - doesn't fit. I see these two associates talking while glancing at me as I leave the dressing room looking for something else of my style before deciding to leave while only purchasing my tights. As I was last looking, they were both hovering around me. Was the idea that I was going to steal from the second I walked into the door? I had no big bag in me, I don't think I acted suspiciously, and this behavior started the second I started looking at items in the store. I hate to scream "could this be racism", but I am Black, and both associates were White. Also, Hot Topic's fashion has just fallen off. It used to be so cool and edgy but now it's all tiktok/mushroom stuff. With the occasional "I can see this was inspired by Wednesday Addams"

The style of clothing and accessories in this store is very gothic like. My child doesn't dress dark or anything like that but she likes a lot of rock bands and in this store they carry a ton of rock band apparel. If your in to skulls and things like that, this is the place. I would not return because it is not my style but I will bring my daughter as long as she likes the stuff and its not too dark.
