Staff!! Needs to Shape Up -- Manager Saved the Day…read moreI came in for a simple oil change and unfortunately had one of the worst customer service experiences I've had here. I want to be clear-- I love this Walmart. The store itself is always well-stocked, and the staff throughout the rest of the location are consistently helpful and friendly. That's exactly why this stood out so much. I waited about two and a half hours for my oil change. The wait itself wasn't the issue, I understand these things take time. What I cannot excuse is the complete lack of communication from the Auto Service Center staff. No updates, no acknowledgment, nothing. A little transparency goes a long way. I eventually asked to speak with the manager Jeff . He was an absolute gentleman respectful, professional, and went above and beyond by personally working on my truck himself. That told me everything. The standard is there; the problem is the staff not meeting it. The workers in that Auto Service Center need to shape up. The manager showed exactly how it should be done. If he can lead by example like that, there's no excuse for the rest of the team to fall so short. Do better -- your customers deserve it.

You will usually walk out of here having purchased items you were not planning to buy because of the great prices, which make it hard not to do so.

Like most discount stores, there are items everywhere and sometimes it can be overwhelming. I walked almost the entire store until I found the section for the item I was looking for. The aisles are narrow, very narrow, especially on the right side of the store. I don't think a shopping cart can even go through some of them. Even when I was in one of the aisles, a shopping cart was coming towards me, but there was no way for them to go around me (or vice versa), so I just ended up exiting the aisle on the opposite end. I had not shopped at a Marshalls in a long time so I was not sure what to expect in terms of quality, brand name items. There were a few items that caught my eye, but other than that, it was pretty average. Like any discount store, sometimes there are not many options in terms of size and quantity. One needs to spend time to search and find. I wanted to purchase 2 of the same item, but after searching, I only found the one item, which was still better than none. The checkout line was quite long for a weekday lunch time, but it moved pretty quickly. They now no longer provide shopping bags, so make sure to bring your own or pay $0.10 for a paper shopping bag. As I was shopping, I saw many employees restocking and etc. Parking are one-way aisles. Even though many of the parking spots were taken, one can find a parking spot in an aisle or two away from the main entrance.

Over the holidays I had seen Marshall's was selling everlasting punching bags and made a note to…read morepurchase one at the start of the new year. I walked into my local Marshall's (Eastland Center) and asked a floor employee if they still had any and she had no idea what I was talking about. I got on my phone and looked up the next nearest location which turned out to be Glendora. I rang them up and a gentleman by the name of Enrique politely placed me on hold and within moments confirmed they had four available. While on the call I had started to make my way over because I had ten minutes until they closed the store. I let Enrique know I was on my way and he told me there was no certainty I'd be able to make the purchase if I arrived after 9:30 pm. Having worked retail, I completely understood this. I'm sure all the employees had worked a hard day and would want to be starting their closing duties but I figured I would try. I was fortunate to catch a string of green lights and pulled into the parking lot seconds before 9:30. Enrique was by the items I had inquired about and had a dolly ready to transport whichever I chose to the register. I settled on an 80 lbs bag and quickly made my purchase. The woman who rang me up was also very courteous, friendly, and professional (I'm sorry I didn't catch your name) but thank you for the service you provided. After I paid, Enrique continued to be a major help by carting the item to my car and helping me load it. The level of service at the Glendora location was infinitely superior to that of my local location. The staff at Glendora all had a positive energy that was felt in the store. They had closed their store and the last customers they rang up, so I understand the eagerness that employee might feel when the end of the day has come and they just are ready to get their clothing duties done and head home for a much deserved nights rest. Based on the level of tenderness and service provided by Enrique and his coworkers, I will be traveling the extra miles to shop this location instead of my local store at the Eastland Center. Thank you all much so much. I'm so happy with my purchase and it was a refreshing reminder that good customer service; one that goes above and beyond, still exists.

What else can you say about this or any Marshall's locations?…read more It is a hit and miss, but there is always something to see in this store. This specific store was clean, and the employees were super friendly, which was a BIG plus. Prices, as always, are very affordable, and the selection of clothing is huge.

You are physically funneled into a controlled area, and in order to leave, you have to wait until a loss prevention employee notices you and opens the barrier. As shown in the photo, the employee wasn't even paying attention, and I had to actively get her attention just to be allowed to exit the store. That is not normal, and it is not okay. Walking in already felt wrong. I genuinely thought the store was closed because someone had to open the barrier for me to enter. That alone set off alarms. Walking out was worse. Standing there, blocked by a rope, waiting to be acknowledged so I could leave a public retail store felt degrading and uncomfortable. No customer should feel trapped, monitored, or controlled just to exit a store. Whether or not receipts are checked is irrelevant. The issue is the loss of basic autonomy. I should be able to come in and out freely, period. I am not blaming the employees personally. This is clearly a policy and leadership issue. But policies reflect the values of a business, and this setup says a lot. It communicates distrust, hostility, and a complete lack of respect for customers. I've shopped at Burlington for years and never experienced anything like this at older locations. This feels like a sharp decline in standards and customer dignity. This is not how a respectable business operates. The environment feels tense, unwelcoming, and frankly embarrassing for a retail brand. Being forced to wait for permission to leave made me feel lumped into a category I don't belong in, and I will not accept that treatment as a customer. This setup alone tells me everything I need to know about the direction of this store. People deserve to be warned. If you are okay with being herded into a barrier, waiting to be noticed, and feeling confined just to leave a store, then maybe this place won't bother you. For me, this experience was enough to make sure I don't come back. It's unacceptable, and it should seriously concern anyone who values being treated with basic respect. It's very unfortunate because like I said this Burlington in the old store was a staple growing up because of the selection and value. You can always find good deals.
