I was planning an outing to the Military Museum of Fort Worth so I decided to come check out Ridgmar Mall. I walked all of the first and second floor of this mall on a Wednesday in April of 2026. Sadly, the museum is no longer in Ridgmar, there's a sign posted at their former location. I can tell this was once a thriving mall. I wish that it still was. The food court has 2 restaurants open. I saw 3 or 4 salons and at least 3 clothing boutiques open for business. And thankfully LensCrafters and JCPenney are in here still going strong. If you're looking into driving big rigs they have a school in here. Online shopping- BOO to you! While I was there I saw approximately 14 other people not counting employees. There was like ten people in the store and employees wore their surgical like masks.As it got later, more people started to arrive. Bright festive Orange rolling carts are available as you walk in. Their carpet is old and patched up.It needs replacing.The carpet had a good amount of visible trash on the floor. It needed to be picked up. Their cashier was observing the store while another stocked up the store. It seems like, they have more inventory that has not been put out yet because, there were some boxes tucked away near the entrance. There were sassy talking over-sized mechanical clowns that were around a walk through chamber. It was almost like a free haunted house! Last year, they were right next to Home Zone furniture on Ridgmar Meadow Road. In my opinion is was better. The atmosphere was different. The employees were stoked! They were dressed in there costumes and business was booming! I remember, there was a line to try on costumes. I'm not sure, if you can try on a costume because, of Covid. My how times have changed. Overall, I recommend this place! Its a lot of fun and very entertaining! I suggest leaving the kids at home. While they have children's costumes, there are some things that are not kid friendly. It was also 50% off day, so this location was packed with shoppers. The store was actually reasonably organized - that was a very pleasant surprise. I found some cute clothes and shoes for great deals, but I like to try clothes on. That was was not happening at this busy location, so I went to the men's section and found my hubby a pair of outdoor pants he can use when doing yard work, and I found some of the cutest crochet afghans in the home goods area. There is a big parking lot here, but it was almost fully packed since it was a deal day. On the positive side, the store did have adequate staff at the registers who were quickly checking folks out. There was also an adequate number of floor staff who were restocking the racks and picking up items that had been placed in the wrong areas.
