I do not need a lecture and to be told by the girl there that there are new rules and they have to check all the pockets of the clothes and that I should stand there and wait for her to return when I am done trying on my clothes. Bigger store with greater supply of merchandise than I have seen at other locations. Christmas cards were already on display near the front and it's not quite Thanksgiving yet. The store sits at the end of a strip mall and has a parking lot all to themselves. One can guesstimate the size of the horde waiting inside based on the number of cars outside. If you're looking for deals on clothing for kids, toys, specialty foods and housewares this is it. They have few items for adults. This rebranding of Burlington differs much from what it used to be like in the 1990's. In the old days, on overwhelming supply of jackets, belts, shoes, etc. These new stores are closely relative to Marshalls or TJ Maxx. Unfortunately this brand does not spend any monies on customer queue theory. (Logistics.) The line corral is far too long. It snakes around like a U-pattern. This afternoon I thought I could grab a few fragrant candles. It's a better buy than going to most larger retailers. But then I saw how many were in line. Over sixty people and that line was not moving. An older gentleman passed me on his way out. He was cursing the sky complaining of lazy salespeople behind the registers. He had spent over thirty minutes waiting. That was twenty minutes longer than I was willing to give for candles. Great deals to be had for the patient of mind. read more

I recently went into Burlington for the first time in the Harwood Heights location and when I went to checkout, I had this employee named Justin who looked like he ate one of the cashiers for lunch and was giving tons of attitude. He couldn't even properly fold the clothes and when I pointed it out, he didn't listen and continued folding it like trash. Terrible cashier. read more

I had to come here to pick up things for my nephew that his parents put on his baby registry. No issues. Kind folks. They went above and beyond to find everything that I was looking for although many of the items were being discontinued. They had no issue with searching in the system and finding the obscure baby room decorations. I can't complain. They deliver what is promised on the website and if not available, they'll help you find an alternative or another store that may have what you need. It's a bit disorganized yet knowing that it's a discount store, I'm not really surprised. It's kind of expected. If you are willing to take your time and search through the racks, you can find some cool designer stuff. Of course, time is money so if you can't afford to spend the time, it's not worth the savings. read more

It's ironic that this place is called the "coat factory" because there was not a single good-looking coat I could find. They lack the variety of different coats; all I could find were some pea coats and some sports jackets. In other words, if you were trying to find a nice, luxurious-looking trench coat, you would be out of luck. Otherwise, the organizations in this store were horrific. The entire space was way too over-stocked. I would have to make a mass on the scarf department because there was no way I could see all the styles using my eyeballs alone. Their merchandize seemed to be less "classy" comparing to T.J. Maxx and Nordstrom Racks, but occasionally they had better-quality items even though chances were few. I personally think they had a decent men's clothing and men's accessory departments. I sometimes would forgo shopping at women's accessories and browse through men's instead. In terms of clothing, I would have to stick with women's ready-to-wear because of my petite stature. Their selections of Chicago-based sports team accessories were also pitiful. I would have to say that their competitors carry much better products. If you receive a Burlington Coat Factory gift card during the holidays, good luck waiting to spend your money because you would probably have a difficult time finding stuff you like. read more

Yes you can find deals there just like Marshalls and TJ but the quality of clothing is a joke. Some name brands but mostly no name brands I've never heard of. Half of the times I've been there, the dressing room is "temporarily" closed. It's dirty and there is a foul order right when you enter. Don't get me started on the line to checkout. The last time I was there, there had to be at least 20 to 25 people in line and they only had 2 registers open. The whole time I was shopping 20 people and 2 registers and I was there for 45 minutes. I put the one thing I was going to buy back on the rack and left. It's a sad place and depressing place to shop. Marshalls and TJ are much better. Go there instead. read more

I have been to the Burlington at Foster and Harlem...YUCK! It was so messy, and moldy smelling in there, that I just walked out as soon as I walked in. I had low expectations of this new store because of my previous experience. However, I was pleasantly surprised. This place is so clean, and organized. I almost felt like I was in a regular department store. I will definitely go back to this store. The shoe selection was really great. I recently bought a pair of heels from "Spring", at the HIP, and they had these exact shoes here, for $20 less than I paid. I also bought a pair of Steve Madden boots from here for considerably less than they sell for in the store. Also, the staff is helpful, and there seems to be a good number of employees to assist you. read more

This is the type of store where you may find exactly what you're looking for at a very decent price..either for the home..or yourself or you may leave feeling discouraged because the store can be a bit of a mess with little organization..I know it probably gets frequented a lot and its not necessarily the employees' fault you can't find a small where its the small racket..but the shopping experience WOULD be better if it was better maintained. As another reviewer mentioned, the merchandize can be less "classy" compared to T.J. Maxx and Nordstrom Racks, but I do believe its more of a bargain store. There are some things that should not cost more than $20..and those stuff Im able to find at Burlington stores... I miss their old location. It was out dated looking but they seemed to have more variety and better items. It also appeared bigger and more well stocked. Now in this location they are reduced down further and often I cannot find what I am looking for. What a shame, but they still have pretty good prices. This Burlington is horrible! There are only two registers open with a line of at least 25 deep! What's worse is there are multiple employees walking around not doing anything. I am looking at one employee on his phone. To make it worse there is no ac on in here and that just adds to the frustration of everyone standing next to each other in line sweating! Although this is a somewhat big store in comparison to the store in Glenview , they dont seem to have a wide selection of clothing and toys, just more furniture. Check out process is ok. If I could give a zero rating, I would. The past two years, I have been shopping at this location due to a one stop shop for me in Norridge- Aldi, Marshall's, & Burlington. Outlet stores are a hit or miss finding clothes, but I manage to find something to buy at an excellent price. My complaint is not about stock or the disorganization of this store. It is about the "employees". Now, I have shopped at other locations and did receive GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE, unfortunately at this location, very poor service. Never in my life, have I ever been so rudely addressed and blatantly disrespected upon entering a retail store. Let me walk you through this disgusting portrayal of 'customer service' I received the other night. I needed to race up to Burlington without my kids so I waited until my husband got home at 20 minutes to 10. I know they close at 10 but I was there within 5minutes making it before 9:45. I had already scoped out what I wanted to buy so I was in power shop mode. I hop out of my car thinking 15minutes is definitely doable and I was relieved I got there in time. I run up to the front doors and I see a woman locking the door? She quickly turned her back upon making eye contact and she walked away. I thought, surely she didn't lock the doors upon seeing me walk up. I read, and re-read the signs posted, clear as day, that the store is open until ten o'clock PM. They lock the doors at 20 till whilst a paying customer is approaching the store? I really needed to get the two items for my kids (hence not going to get the things earlier as bringing the kids would ruin their surprise). I finally decide to try and manually slide the door to the entrance open. It worked! I try the second door, SUCCESS! NOW....what the heck? I turn to the woman who rudely turned her back and my eyes met the most miserable and unpleasant individual! I inquire if they were closing early or something. She snaps, claiming "it's 2 minutes to 10 so if you wanna call that early!?!?" Red flag numero uno!!! I look at her and hold up my phone saying "it is not 2till, it's a quarter of!" She snaps back saying "did you need to get something?" Before I could respond she snaps again "if you need something you have 5minutes." I was so baffled!! Like, am I really witnessing this. As I began walking away in total astonishment I said "I've never heard of such a thing as locking the doors early to clear out the store. I've NEVER heard of anything like it". To witch...excuse me...to which, I hear the women say, clear as can be, "Well, now you have!!!" "Really?!?! NOW I have?!?!" "NOW I have eh?" Turned facing her direction. She strangely acted as if I did not exist and that she wasn't able to hear me. I could tell this was going nowhere and I proceeded to rush through the store to search for what I needed. Ready for this? You know those special Walkie Talkie's they use to communicate throughout the store? The ones that any and all nearby can hear?!?! Well, 5 minutes later I hear the sweet woman from the front ask kind employee #2 just a couple aisles over if...'that woman still in your section' to which this woman replies 'yes, of course! She's probably gonna punish us and keep shopping too!' Really? "Really?!?!"Flows out my mouth followed by "you're gonna talk about me over something like that while you know damn well I'm in ear shot?!" "TSs...I wasn't talking about you!" She responds although her back is turned. She quickly realized her mistake and tries to backpedal by saying 'wait, who am I talking to? Is that you Margaret??" I had enough I was done I went and cashed out for the few things that I had. Woman behind the counter had her hair covering her name tag I can only catch the first couple letters and the other woman was wearing a lanyard that was turned around so I tried to call to get their names and apparently they don't keep records of who's worked the previous day. They only get the daily schedule! LOL TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY... I bought my eight year old a nice hoodie for his birthday and the cashier took the security tag off yet left the large sharp pointed nail from the 'thumb tack side' in the sleeve. Thank goodness I found it while wrapping it. It really could've slit his arm wide open. They haven't heard the last of me. Unprofessional associates, poorly staffed, attitudes all over the place. I came in to return a pair of $12.99 little girls shoes that didn't fit my niece and could not locate the receipt. I am a retail manager so I made sure to look up the return policy before making a trip. I couldn't remember what form of payment I used, and with my cards associate could not find receipt in computer. As I told her in beginning I'm going to get bigger size shoes. She tells me she can't accept return with no receipt. I said oh really, well that's not your policy I looked up online. She said oh it's changing. Do I look stupid little girl?!
