You would think with Christmas just over two weeks away they'd have more then one cashier in the place. This place is always always disorganized. Clothes on the floor, toys half open, broken things on the ground. Nothing is every organized or where it's supposed to be, and it hasnt been for the last decade. I'm not sure why they've let this place go so bad but they have. Now with them shrinking the store down it's even more apparent. Although they have good deals and steller finds, it's almost impossible to shop here and get what you want. There is only 1 saving grace and that is they have a plus size section with some good clothes in there. Otherwise it's a mess in here so be prepared to hunt and step over junk. read more

I purchased some coats here at BURLINGTON but this time I came for a PANETTONE GUAVA FLAVOR , my wife saw a post from her Yelp friend about this Panettone guava flavor . Guava is my favorite fruit, so I came here looking for this Pannettone guava flavor , we always have a Pannettone for the Holiday season usually we have chocolate panettone. So I found the Panettone guava flavor and picked up some Snoopy hot cocoa for my Son & M&M's ground coffee for my wife . The Pannettone guava was good, wasn't overly sweet, just perfect, I got 5 of them and it seems it won't last for a week, definitely going back coz these are seasonal items, and getting 5 more of these Panettone guava flavor at Burlinton and maybe pick up some coats again . read more

This review is mixed. First of all, I drove up to the west entrance of the building because I normally like going in and out of that area. Also, because I was looking for something specific to that area of the store. It was disappointing to see that they close that entrance and is no longer operable. It is the entrance that faces the Jack-in-the-Box corner of the Claremont Square shopping center. Many of the items are not well organized. I just figured that it was because this was the night time, and all of the shopping customers have milled through everything. I did try a couple things on and I had to wait about five minutes for a fitting room attendant to help me. That wasn't bad and she was very customer service oriented. As a matter of fact, when she came to us just the fitting room line, she actually was still helping someone else nearby. I'm not sure if they are shortstaffed or if they just have workers that are just not available or around in any of the areas. I literally spotted four employees throughout my shopping time (1 hour): 1 Risk Mgmt Agent at the door, 1 Cashier, 1 Fitting Room Attendant, 1 Employee Stocking the employee Women's Accessories area. It was super disappointing because there were about 15 of us in the checkout line with one man checking out. Prior to coming to check out I had already chosen the items that I needed because they were big and bulky they needed to be opened with the security key in order for me to see inside before I decided on my purchase. This was about 30 minutes before I came to the checkout line. I saw my items waiting behind the cashiers counter and just assumed that the cashier understood that when I got to the front of the line he should open them up so that I can look inside to determine which one that I wanted. Well, that did not happen... Upon my turn in line, I told the cashier that my 3 items were there and he went over to them. I said I cannot get all of them. I just need to see the two of them inside and you have the key to open them, then I can decide which one I want. He tried for about 10 seconds to open the item with the security tag opener. It didn't work and so he asked the risk management agent to open it for him. The risk management agent also could not open it. I then asked him to try the other item. He was able to get that one open and so I decided to buy it. When it was time for me to check out (I am still at the front register with the unlocked item and 1 other item), there were now 16 to 20 people waiting for one cashier in the long line. The cashier asked me if I could wait in line again. I said absolutely not. I told him that I brought my article over here 30 minutes before I even got in line for the security tag to be removed, then waited in line for 20 minutes, and then it took 10 minutes to try to get the items open. They should have been opened before I came to the register honestly. The cashier shrugged at me, took another customer in front of me and then scanned my items very hastily and quickly. He was so quick and trying to dismiss me that he didn't even offer a bag to me for my items. I probably won't shop here anymore. read more

The Burlington is a hit or miss. They have great decor but their men's section is sometimes a flop. I mostly come for the colognes. An good time to come in is about an hr after they open for the best selections read more

Came here in the early afternoon and the lines were very busy. There were two cashiers and it took about 20 minutes of standing in line before I got to check out. There were several empty registers and it seemed like the place was understaffed. There were also several customers in line complaining about how long they were waiting. The cashier did not greet me or call me over when the previous customer left. I placed my items on the counter and the cashier was texting on her phone the entire time. I had to grab my own receipt because the cashier was too busy using her phone. This place is large and has a fairly good selection of products to choose from, but the shipping experience was not the best. There was a lot of trash on the product shelves and it was obvious that the place was not well maintained. They had a couple of broken/damaged item still on the shelves for sale. There was also some repairs being done in the building and I could hear a lot of loud construction noises. read more

Very large location and lots off merchandise but checkout is SO ridiculous. I spent literally 40 minutes waiting in line!!! 2 cashiers and no other staff around. I see some responses from management that they are "working on the issue" over a year ago. Clearly, hasn't changed. Super sad because I love Burlington, but won't be back until they increase the staffing. I don't go shopping to waste my entire day waiting in line. read more

My goodness, this store is depressing. It is fairly organized and, yes, it appears that the team here is trying the absolute best to the place in good order, but humans will be humans. The store is a massive warehouse, just as Burlington locations tend to be. That may give the impression that there is lots to offer. But no matter the size, the diversity of options is absolutely abysmal. Sure, you have sections for clothing, bathroom, kitchenware, luggage, formal clothes, etc., etc., etc., but, my goodness, it will be the same sparkly green shirt in the same section one dozen or more times. And who is wearing this green sparkly shirt? And to what venue? Ah, this may be why there are more than one dozen of them all together. Literally not a single person is interested in that style of shirt. This is true in the skirt, pant and dress sections. And the dress section was sadly skimpy. But prices are of course exceedingly reasonable. And you can find some quality material from time to time, in this case found in the luggage and sportswear sections. Beyond that, however, the store is significantly underwhelming. And best of luck to you finding an associate who can offer any assistance at all. read more

This used to be my absolute favorite place to shop. Now i refuse to go there after multiple Disrespectful encounters and observations from employees. All of my family members have been coming here for years and now we all refuse to give them any of our money because of how atrocious the employee behavior is. When you go out shopping you want it to be a positive experience. In the last year this store has been nothing but drama and disrespect from employees who dont do their own job and when you request help they give you an attitude. The last time I went there was the last. I was with my 90 year old grandmother who also used to love to shop there. I knew this was going to end up as a bad experience but she insisted. There are a couple of older ladies who work the fitting room area. Every single time I have gone to try things on I am listening to these women gossip about each other, be rude and disrespectful to customers and try to make them do their job. Your job as a fitting room attendant is to count the clothes people bring in to try on, count them as they come out and take the ones customers dont want. All with a pleasant greeting and positive experience. That is the OPPOSITE of what they give us. Every single Time i have gone in the past year the fitting room attendants are rude, vile and gossiping about each other with other employees or ones that aren't even on shift. Literally every time i go there. This last time was the last straw. I brought my 90 year old grandmother and she found some things to try on. We were refused to being out cart in even though she needed something to hold onto because she doesn't like being helped in that way. The attdenant was extremely rude and aggressive about it. That right away made me mad. You don't speak to customers like that, especially my 90 year old grandmother. Secondly, she had found something that i guess did not have a hanger. Shes very proper when out so I know she didn't just take it off the hanger and put it in the cart. We slowly made our way through the fence of show racks they now have blocking it which is ridiculous. Got to the counter, she added our items and told us we had to many. I told her its fine I will take it for her so we can have double the amount. She pointed to the number 6 on the wall and said 6 at a time. I said ill take these 2! Gram accidentally brought in. We tried things on, mind you the lady knew she had 1 that didn't have a hanger when we walked in. Tried things on and gram didnt like any of them but had more to try on. The lady was nowhere to be found so i out them on a rack that looked like it was where shed put them before separating them. As soon as we turned around this lady barked at me saying "thats not where those go, take them off the rack." Hm maybe if you had been at the counter doing your job they wouldn't have been placed where they dont belong. I didn't say thing but i sure thought it. Anyways i took them off and just stood tbere. Meanwhile, another employee came up and they started gossiping about some work drama. Gram had started walking out to get her other clothes(shes very independent, but has horrible eyesight) so I'm standing there waiting to be told what to do with them and shes just standing there talking with the employee completely ignoring me. The other employee looks me dead in the eye and does NOTHING. Doesn't let her know I'm standing right next to her, doesn't correct her behavior. Just continues to gossip. I started to ask where I should out them and the lady has the audacity to tell me to hold on. Simply so she could finish her gossiping conversation about the other employees and whatever drama they had. I said I need to go tend to my grandmother. She was already out of the area by then. And out the clothes down because I'm not waiting for her conversation to end bc she cant be bothered to help. She got mad and when we came back with the other clothes she told us to make sure everything on a hanger this time. I ignored her. We tried on and same thing happened only i reached out and said here you go. So i could walk out with gram. She called me rude and started complaining about customers. The time before this the same lady wqs on a phone call at the same time I walked up and tried to hide it with her headphones. I went int to try on clothes and could hear her entire conversation. It was about how someone at a fast food restaurant gave her bbq sauce with chicken. She was complaining about it and calling the person racist. Now idk what happened between her and the person who gave her the sauce and definitely not judging her if she felt she was being prejudiced against. However, that is nor the time or the place to be having this conversation ON SPEAKERPHONE while you are working. I get you've having a bad day but that is no excuse to be rude to me. read more

It was only 9:20pm when one of the employees went on the intercom to announce the store will be closing at 10pm and they won't be checking out any customers once it hits 10pm. I was still shopping around until about 9:40pm I started to head towards the registers to check out. Mind you it was one family in front of us in the line, only two cashiers that were working the registers and still ringing people up. They stated they would only ring up the family in front of us and then told me to leave my cart cause they weren't going to take any more people. Wtf? Nah that's some bullshit because they saw us in line way before 10pm and still kicked us out of the store. We were literally in line by 9:40 waiting for them to be done and they were taking the longest to ring those people up. Never have I ever been to a Burlington who's done this except this location. Rudest employees acting like they were going to clock out to go home right at 10:30 LOL. Yeah I left my cart there with all my things that I was GOING TO buy BEFOREEE 10pm, have fun with all of those go-backs though!! Never coming here ever again. Just lost a loyal customer! BIG size store. Lots of inventory to find the great deals. Two entrances & exits. Both have cashiers. I would say this is my favorite of all the Burlington stores in San Diego. This may seem a bit odd but Burlington Coat Factory is one of the places I like to go to get unique spices, jams jellies and protein drink mixes. The prices are definitely cheaper however I have learned the hard way to pay close attention to expiration dates. No coats manufactured, assembly lines, or billowing smokestacks here. Confusing name since they don't build anything or sell coats exclusively. My review focuses on the Men's Department, but I roamed the large building to see what else was going on. The square footage dedicated for menswear is impressive and selection will vary based on personal taste. Casual, sport, formal, shoes, ties, suits, etc...it's all there (++). I found it convenient that they had an in-store tailor shop. He was helpful and able to have my slacks adjusted that same Saturday (+). I only needed to go to the cashier first for a receipt before dropping the slacks off. The store layout is typical of any traditional store and this one also features two other specialty departments: 1) "Luxury Linens", which has linens (duh), furniture, housewares, and home decor. 2) "Baby Depot", which has an additional selection of clothes, maternity wear, furniture, and safety items. They also offer a baby registry service. The store didn't look like a disaster when I shopped and the lines to check out moved smoothly. There were two cashiers ringing up and a third organizing shelves nearby if assistance was needed. I paid a little over $100 to buy three shirts, a tie, slacks, and the tailor adjustment (+). This store may not have the best selection and/or availability of select items, but the value is there to be found and the place isn't overcrowded like other discount stores or outlet centers. read more

They do not allow anyone to use their bathroom. So you are spending your money at that store but sending you to Walmart to use the bathroom. I went to Santee Store and called the store in Clairemont just to see if they allow people to use the bathroom. What is the point of having a restroom if you don't allow customers to use it? I visited this Burlington yesterday night, at around 7:30pm. It had been a while since I had visited this location and I was looking forward to it since they usually have a good selection of items. Me and my partner browsed around for a bit, grabbing lots of items as we went along. About an hour into our shopping, I had the urge to go use the restroom real quick as I had drank a lot of water before coming to the store. Like I said, it has been a while since I had been here so I wasn't aware that you now had to have an employee open the restroom up. I looked around for an employee and couldn't find anyone so I walked all the way to the fitting rooms to ask for the code which the employee did not know but she said she would send someone over to open it for me. I went back and waited for about 5 minutes and no one came. I found another employee and asked if she was able to open it for me or get someone who could. She bluntly said no and said the restrooms were not open to the public. I let her know that I was shopping but I had given the cart to the person I was with since you can't take merchandise into the bathroom. She said she wouldn't open it for me and that I would have to leave the store to either use the restrooms in the mall or the one in Vons. I let her know that I just had to pee real quickly but she said she wasn't going to open them and walked away. You see, I wouldn't have mind her just waiting outside while I used it real quick. I would've even understood if maybe the restrooms were closed already because they were short staffed or because it was close to closing time but neither of these things were true. The store closes at 11pm and it was barely (if anything) 8:30pm so I knew it wasn't closed because it was near closing time, and there were plenty of employees walking around that could've opened the restrooms. I don't know if she just didn't want to open it for me or what it was but I was very disappointed in the poor customer service the store provided this time around. I ended up finding my partner shortly after this horrible interaction happened and told them what had occurred. We have never been treated like this at this location and we were extremely disappointed. Even though we had plenty of things in our cart, we ended up leaving everything behind since we no longer felt welcomed and because we were basically kicked out to go use the restroom elsewhere. The other times we've come to this location have been great but this really upset us so it will probably be a while before we come back. read more

I've been in several BCFs lately in search of black wingtips shoes,for church and other dressy occasions. No luck. I did find a brown pair when I was looking for them. I get the majority of my dress shoes here.Over the years I've found some quality shoes at reasonable prices. Years ago the had a great selection of leather jackets. Sadly those days are LONG gone. I 've found some sports coats that were really nice They have a decent selection of Mens dress shirts some with ties. They even have one combo that has matching tie hanky and socks. I did find a good bargain on a beard trimmer. It was of better quality than Wal-Mart and a bit less in price. A good place to go to window shop. Do people still use that phrase? I don't think I've said it in years. I do remember a time when I'd easily rate them 4 stars . Those days are now sadly just a fond memory. read more

** DO NOT GO HERE! ** I am a regular shopper here and I love this shopping plaza! This store is big and considered to be one of the biggest Burlington's. This store has a nice selection but the long lines aren't worth it. There's usually at least 3 girls at the registers but now there's only one person whenever I come in. Heard workers next to me talk about how people quit due to management and some unfairness at work. Gradually as 2022 came along (around end of the summer specifically), less and less workers are at the registers. Waiting 20-30 minutes isn't worth it. Long lines obviously mean nothing to the workers. Especially when people have one thing in their hand and they still stay and complain.. Would rather go to a different Burlington. Their lines are long but not as long as this ones. Some workers work hard and I've noticed who do not. We get it having a long line sucks. But as a customer, being in a long line and then coming up to a cashier with a bad attitude due to the line is even worse. "No ones here". I'd rather get a professional answer of "thank you for waiting i apologize we are short staffed". Or even better: to just apologize instead of having a cranky attitude. Especially that one young and tall Caucasian lady who is supposedly a cashier supervisor up front. Seen her run to the back behind the wall of bags and stay there for about 5+ minutes. This is a really large store. Much larger than the north county one. Parking is ok, its in a very large shopping center and conviently next to both a Vons and a Ross so shop away! It has several issues, which I've coined the term "Ross issues" 1. Lines too long for the amount of clientele due to lack of checkers. I mean who wants to wait in a 20 min. line for an $8 shirt. Nope! 2. Its too messy, disorganized and hard to find things. Looking in the L section only to find XS. Waste of time and frustrating. I mean I saw a beautiful pair of earrings on the ground, all trashed and trompled on. No cleaning up going on in this store. The cashier that helped me was very friendly and efficient so that was nice. But the lady at the dressing rooms was a little off and mumbling like she wasnt quite sure what was going on. "How many items do you have?" she asked after watching me put several items back in the cart. Me "6" her "are you sure?" Not sure if I'd step into this store otherwise. And come to think of it, I'm not even sure where ELSE I'd go for luggage. But they have a lot of choices at pretty decent prices. Checking out with your purchases, however, always seems to be a complete clusterfarkle and takes a nice long time. The place also has that funky old thrift store smell to it so I can only take this place in small doses. I walked in here looking for a dress for my daughter. I ended up buying her shoes cause the dress wasn't the right color. The shoes were $9.99. Not bad for a pair of shoes. The store was clean as I saw an employee arranging stuff and putting items away. The funny thing was the front alarm kept going off as people kept walking in and out of the store. I thought that was funny. Anyway I love shopping here for clothes and shoes. You find great deals on stuff you need. read more

Terrible customer service, people is not willing to help you to find something or guide you to an asile, every person seems unhappy and it reflects on the quality of the customer service. but what bothered me the most is that I bought a pair of shoes that broke the very first time that I got them, I went to return them after the holidays because when I bought them they said I could return until mid January for holiday window and when I explained to the lady that they broke half and hour after I used them for the first and only time she questioned me and told me that I wore them more than once, calling me a liar, when they still have the very new tag and the sole is clean and new as well. She was rude and told me that I didn't buy them broken so she couldn't refund me. Of course I bought them thinking that they would last at least couple months or a year not just for a day. I went here to browse for a new purse & some boots. Prices aren't any better than other discount stores, but what made my experience awkwardly unpleasant was their employees. They would take turns getting on the intercom to make noises, laugh, blurt out all kinds of sounds, and talk to another associate somewhere in the building. It happened for a good 30 minutes---I guess that was their way of talking to each other? Anyway, once I reached the cashier area to check out I overheard one associate mention, "I hope they don't hire anymore lesbians." She said this in front of another customer too (I'm assuming she was a lesbian herself cuz she looked pretty butchy). I just got fed up with their unprofessionalism...put all my stuff back and left the store w/o purchasing anything. Where was the freaking manager?!! If you can shop at a place and don't care about customer service, than go here (but I don't see much I like anyway). This store is actually pretty nice. It's kept more clean than most Burlington's I've been to. Sometimes it's a hit or miss but you can always find a good cheap gift here for a decent price. The two reasons I give it 2 stars is because the employees are not helpful. And one of the men who works there is downright rude. Check the jewelry before you buy it! My 66 year old mother in law is visiting from out of the country and came here two days in a row. She spent almost $300. Among the many items she purchased was a bracelet that when she bought it she did not know was broken and tarnished. We went to the store to get a replacement. We gave both of our receipts to the employees. They think they were able to identify the bracelet on the receipt, but they did not have another one to do an exchange. About 8 years ago I bought a gorgeous black Anne Klein coat from here lined in pink satin - and I'm pleased to say that it is still going strong! It's been through quite a few capers and many dry cleanings and still looks pitch-perfect! Great investment for well under $100. I hadn't been back in a few years, but Chun P. suggested that I drop in since I was looking for a gift for a friend in the menswear department. I arrived just after 10 a.m. on a Saturday and there were just a dozen or so other customers in the store and the place was pretty well organized. I found exactly what I was looking for and while at the checkout, the attendant, Cassee was extra friendly and helped me find a snazzy gift bag - and a hilarious card too which saved me a trip!
