I'm a sucker for this location! I feel like they are always stocking, so there is always something new on the shelf to look at. I like the way the store is organized and it is always pretty clean (with the exception of the clearance area). This location also has lots of purses and always great ones! I wish they had a larger jewelry selection, I feel like their cases are a little bare but the cheaper box jewelry is plentiful on the shelf. I dislike how they've started locking up the more "expensive" make up, skin care, and electronics. I understand the fragrance because it's expensive but I'm not looking for a staff member to unlock a case to get me my 14 dollar creams... It's excessive. This was my first visit to this location. I am a big fans of TJ Maxx, Marshall's and HomeGoods. It was a Saturday early evening. There were no shopping carts, so we assumed it would be crowded which it wasn't at all. Aisles were clean and organized which I always appreciate. Clearance section is where I like to start first, you can always discover great finds there. Had to pick up some prizes for teens. My budget was $100 and we walked away with a bag full of goodies ranging from nails, full makeup cases, eye gels, crochet kits, journals and fancy markers. Stopped in the Escondido store on 9/4/25. I experienced a reaction to medication I had just picked up and almost passed out in the store. As I was sitting on furniture trying to feel better, Julian stopped and asked if i needed help. Shortly after Theresa walked by and also saw I was close to passing out and rushed to get me a frozen bottle of water. They offered to call an ambulance but I was reluctant to go that route. After sitting there for over 30 minutes these kind ladies kept checking on me. I finally snapped out of it, and made my way out of the store. The products sold at this store are great and affordable! You can find anything here at an affordable price! It's also in a shopping center! They do need to work on their customer service skills! There use to be this short white washed Mexican girl who use to work there and she'd be rolling her eyes to people for no reason especially other Latinos like her. It's OK... this TJ Maxx is mainly for ladies and kids as it doesn't have much to offer when it comes to Men's clothing. Therefore, their stock isn't very balanced. The shoes section is also pretty weak, hardly any options. I will say the store is pretty clean and it's easy to locate sections. The lines are decent, not too long. Staff keeps to themselves and it's a pretty quiet environment. There's a handful of deals but overall there's other TJ Maxx locations in SD that have better deals! read more

This large store is always a surprise for shoppers. You never know what you will find there and chances are you won't find anything if you're looking for something specific. Still a fun store to go to if you have the time to browse. We have found lamps, pots, pans, kitchen supplies, and spices. We've been less lucky with clothing and other items. The good thing about this store is that the inventory moves pretty fast, so if you go every other month or so, you will always find lots of new stuff. Best time to go is on weekday mornings in terms of crowds. We have gone on weekends and have stood in line for twenty minutes to pay, so best go when it's not busy. read more

This review is based off of the customer service at this TJMaxx. I frequent the store quite often and the customer service is hit or miss but today will be the last day I ever shop at this TJMaxx. Donna(if that is her actual name) the manger is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to paying customers. She rolls her eyes and talks about patrons to other sales reps while they are feet away. I have never seen such a disrespectful manager at any store in my life. FIVE LARGE STARS for Paul (I believe that's his name I know it started with a P) the cashier! Was nothing but kind and apologized for my experience. Having worked in customer service for 15 years in a similar role I can confirm no company would want any patron to be treated this way. As far as the selection. It's predominantly woman clothing and shoe selection is minimal compared to other TJMax's. read more

Oh Sylvia. She's the reason for this poor review. I came in with a friend to buy a dress and shorts/spandex to go underneath. Well I found a pair of black spandex on "Clearance" for $9 but it was labeled as a 2pack. There was only one pair attached. My friend found the second pair same size, same brand , nude color. Cost for one $10.99 not labeled 1 or 2pack. So we take it to the check out stand to see if they would honor the initial find. They would not. After going back and a bit with the clerk Sylvia comes over and asks what the problem is. We explain. She brings out a scanner and rudely says "whatever this things says is what it is". We advised it appeared to be false advertisement based on the labeling and see others that were properly labeled just not in my size. And again rudely Sylvia says "I'm not going to argue with you". Sylvia you should really work on your customer service. It's really not what you say but how you say it and you were rude. The monetary portion isn't a big deal but you could've handled it much better. Do better Sylvia. read more

Shopping here was a nightmare! In the store around 2pm. Went to two different sales racks and pulled 8 different items that were not on sale. After I placed these items on the rack so that they would be noticed by one of the 5 employees walking around they went back and placed the items in the same spot on the sale rack!!!What a waste of my time. The narrow aisles allow only one person at a time to shop. Men's department seriously lacking in merchandise. 5 people in line waiting to check out with the ONE clerk while two women behind the counter with her joked around cackling! This is a relatively small T J Maxx for a shopping center location. COVID best practices are in place, but I encountered customers who don't believe in social distancing in the aisles. Maybe it was just the time of day, but the store looked a little disheveled, especially in the Home Goods area. We came into the store looking for a round outdoor table cloth but didn't find any to our liking. Never leaving empty handed, I purchased several items in the gourmet food aisle. Neat, tidy and organized. Much more merchandise than some TJ's I've been to - this one had full racks upon racks and a decent selection of men's wear for a change. I crapped out on finding a decent Halloween costume tonight, so I changed gears and tried my hand at bargain hunting. Shopped near closing time, so EZ parking & no busy crowds to swim through. Finally found some stuff that I can work into the wardrobe rotation, but that meant I needed to pull threads for charity donation (and tax write-off). I am impressed with the safety precautions in the store. I feel very safe shopping here right now. They clean the register area between every patron and even have aisle direction markers. Pleased that they are doing all they can during this time. Seems like they have more staff available and the store is cleaner and more organized than ever. Lines are spaced but don't take any longer than normal. Carts are also sanitized between uses. At one point during my shopping trip I had my hands full (wasn't planning on buying much when I went in) and a staff person in the back of the store where I was offered to get me a cart. She stopped what she was doing and went to the front to get me a cart. This was above and beyond customer service. The cashier was also super sweet and talked to me about my purchases. read more

If you need any assistance, they are pleasurable and will jump in to ensure any large items are moved up front and even ensure you are able to get it out to your vehicle. We had a larger cabinet purchased and they were awesome. Always nice, when we come back for various items. Service at the cash is quite quick, even with a number of customers ready to check out. I shop here all the time and had a horrible experience with dianna g just now. Was not focused on ringing me up and continually left to go do other things while she was supposed to be finishing my transaction. I had to call her back over to the stand because my chip reader wouldn't work. She grabbed MY OWN CARD out of my hands and said"yeah yo don't have a chip." Very snarky and rude. Went to TJ Maxx looking for a new cell phone case cover for my iPhone 6 since the one I had on it was ripping apart. I walked in with my daughter. I directed her to the toy and book section while hubby was looking for a case for me. He found a pink one that I liked. Sold! My daughter also found a book she liked. Finding items here was easy since their store was well organized. They had clothes, shoes, purses (which I like) and stuff for the home. Very tempting to buy stuff here. Look for the stuff with the red stickers which means it is on sale. When I went to the register, the lady who rang me up was nice. She asked me if I found everything I needed and told her yes.
