A gentleman (I'm sorry I did not get his name) helped me unlock a bag and took it to the checkout counter. Once there, Jessica was friendly and helpful. She took the time to look up my Nordstrom rewards and apply them to my purchase. All departments are fully stocked and waiting for bargain shoppers like me. I find Nordstrom Rack prices exceptional for high end merchandise. Their in house brands are comparable and also provide good value. They will help you find your size and fit and if they don't have the style you want, you can order it through them with no shipping charge. The nice thing here is that a lot of the shoes end up being the same price as their own websites online (or less since now you aren't paying shipping) so it is worth it to go find what fits and then get it in person. They also have a reward program so eventually you earn money-off rewards on future purchases. The store itself is cute and organized and they have a lot of fun socks there too if you are into fun socks!

Just a teeny bit shy of the 5' mark, finding jeans is always a huge pain in the butt - but finding shoes and boots in my size is the bane of my existence. For the last several years, I have been on the hunt for a pair of knee high boots that come in my midget foot size (5-5.5, or a kid's 3-4) and actually come up to my knee, not four inches or more past. You see, the world wasn't made for us vertically challenged folk. When I have managed to find my small size in a boot, they have come way past my knee and I look like a little kid playing dress-up, or worse yet - like puss-in-boots, and I am about to go fence some scoundrel. Apparently small-footed individuals are also of Amazonian height. Lo and behold, Steve Madden. I saw a pair of shoes on their website, and called the store to see if they had them in my size in stock. As luck would have it, there was one lone pair, and it was soon to be mine. The man on the phone, Matt, was super nice and pleasant, and answered all of my questions, and was able to hold them for me until I could come to the store later that night. I dragged my friend out in the rain (I'm a girl, I need the friend fashion approval and the boy was all, um please take your friend because, yeah, I'm a boy, they're boots, I'm sure they're nice, yada yada yada). Matt was super nice and super friendly in person as was the other guy working there that night (Rohan). They brought out my boots and they were FABULOUS. They are delicious and beautiful and all mine - and the first knee-high boots I have ever worn/owned in my life. When you'e used to buying kid shoes that hit mid-calf, this is a great achievement and a boot victory. Sadly, they are for X-mas and since I was helping Santa play elf this year I will just have to wait - but it's worth it. They offered advice on how to care for it and all that good stuff, and the store was matching the web sale (20-25% off) which was just an added bonus. Since my friend was drooling over another pair of boots, I get her a pair as well that she loves - but she too will have to wait until Old King Cole comes on down that chimney. A+ for customer service on the phone and in store, and A+ for making good quality boots that are spunky and fun, and come in sizes to fit all needs.

There are only 2 Stride Rites left on LI - Sayville and Selden so we made the drive from Farmingdale on a Saturday afternoon to get my daughter's shoes. Cathy greeted us and quickly assisted us with help. I voiced to her that it was our first shopping experience for shoes and she measured my daughter's feet to ensure proper fitting. She was kind, patient and worked with my daughter as she just woke up from her nap and was very unsure of the pantyhose and new shoes. She let he pick out which one she wanted to try and let us take our time as she practiced walking in the store. The shoes are definitely worth the price! I am so glad I went to the store rather than buying it online. It is super crucial to make sure that my daughter has a great supportive shoe when starting out to walk. Highly recommend this store!
