First time here. Pizza was good. Cheese bread was ok. Customer service eh. Was going to try the reaper wings but got the bill for sone reason. Then I asked for one more draft which went from 8 to 11 bucks. I really liked the pizza but Wil never be coming back. I always give at least 20% tip unless the service us bad. As my reviews go, this place is a tie with my lowest score ever because of the service and the 3 buck upcharge for my last beer. read more

Always has the freshest and most amazing food! The Mommas Roll is so delicious! Customer service is outstanding. I asked for extra sauce one time and the chef remembered from that one time and gave me extra the next time I came back. Definitely made me feel special. Overall this was a fine meal, they didn't skimp on toppings, but the crust was chewier/softer than we like. Service was friendly. We opted for a small cheese ($13.99) because it seemed silly to pay $11 for a kid's cheese pizza. Especially because it didn't indicate any included beverage or sides. Small Italien place off the main road. Definitely recommendable, pizza was tasty, crunchy and fast. Service was excellent and fast, too. Visited in a Sunday early afternoon, and it wasn't crowded at all. Coming from DC and can't remember when I visited a place with real table cover that gets changed after every party, that was not $$$ or higher and had real silverware. Quality appears to be fading at Burn Wood Fired Pizza. We ordered Rustica and Sweet Burn pizzas and were disappointed. First, the dough and crust were soft like supermarket pizza. The sauce on the Rustica tasted like and had the consistency of tomato paste. And the Sweet Burn was flavorless. Advertised as wood fired pizza, but really it's about what I would have expected from the Food Lion a couple hundred yards away. We also ordered the oven baked brussel sprouts, which we enjoyed. I had never been to "Burn Wood Fired Pizza" and I have wanted to eat here for a long time, but it never works out for me. I asked Brittney (bartender) what's the bestselling pie? she said it was the "Godzilla" which had sausage, meatballs, capicola, and pepperoni. That sounded like way too much meat for me. She then said the next bestseller would be the "Margherita". But I wasn't feeling that because I wanted some kind of meat on my pie. She was eating the "Bianca" with side of balsamic vinegar. I always trust what the employees are eating so that's what I went with. This was the best white pizza with prosciutto I have ever had. The prosciutto was so fresh, and the summer taste of basil was perfect. Definitely ask for the side of balsamic vinegar. The acidity is a game changer on this pizza it gives a tangy tart flavor. I would give 3.5 if I could because they seem to really try, but there's just no flavor. We got the sweet burn pizza and the brussel sprouts. Sweet burn has mozzarella, onions, meatballs and sweet peppers. The peppers were the only thing with any flavor. The white onions, which were also piled on the sprouts, were quick fried and tasteless, no add. Same with the bland meatballs. It really needs a better salty cheese or a better motz mix with salty Romano and Parmesan. The brussel sprouts were eh. Love them when they're crispy and dark, fried or roasted, but these were cooked through and moist, just not my style. Topped with not crisp bacon and some balsamic. Like the pizza, screaming for some salt! The food is beautiful, the crust was great, the service was good and friendly, and the combinations were interesting and creative. Five friends of mine and I were here Friday night for dinner. I had the white pizza, which was awesome with tons of flavor. They have a brick oven, so even though the crust is burnt, it's just on the outside and it still maintains all of its flavor. I should also note that the small pizza has 6 slices and could feed two people. The others had pasta and two of them had regular tomato based pizzas. Everyone loved what they got. My only minor complaint is that I wish they had olive oil, cause I like that on a white pizza. They had a blues band there as well which we all enjoyed, and some of us old farts even got up and danced. The crowd was mixed, leaning towards the younger side. Traveling down to ocean city for the weekend and we wanted to visit Berlin. We ordered a custom pizza and a eggplant sub. I think the sauce had such great flavor as well as all the toppings. My problem with the sub or with any sandwich the bread to filling ratio. The sub roll was swallowing the eggplant parm. Cool aesthetic on the inside with a full bar. Would not go out of my way to come here again but very good. read more

Burn is a really unassuming, "off of the main road" type of place that really surprises you. Their pizza stacks up against the best of the best in Philly/Baltimore etc. Aerated dough with Zero flop, salty cheeses and a proper amount of sauce, all around, so so good. We love this place, and my 2 daughters who have lived in NYC for 10 years think the pizza is excellent! We ordered the old bay wings, next time I would ask for "light on the old bay", but they were great and I love that they aren't fried. The Brussel sprouts are some of the best I've had, I'm so over the saucy sweet version! This place does them wonderfully and with crispy pancetta. We also tried the "mama roll", yum! And they let us add a couple more veggies to it. It's so filling so beware! Of course the pizza was so so good. The crust is crispy and chewy and bubbly! You do not need to ask for it to be well done as it's perfectly cooked. I wish they offered a couple more veggies...maybe broccoli and arugula...but trust me I'm not complaining, the pizza is fantastic! I highly recommend this place! read more

We really enjoyed our experience at Burn Wood Pizza. The staff is friendly, indoor decor is cool, and most importantly the pizza is delicious. I knocked a star off because they have cloth table coverings, regular silverware, and cloth napkins but use paper plates and disposable cups for soda/water beverages. The pizza is a very wet pizza (which doesn't bother us but was tough cutting on paper plates) so be prepared to use a fork and knife. Flavor is on-point. We will definitely be back! read more

My wife and I just drove almost 6 hours and decided to stop here for carry out at around 6pm before going home. Big mistake. The salad had terrible tomatoes although the rest was ok, but the meatball parm sub, seems as their method of heating the meatballs was slicing them in half putting in oven but they were burnt. Couldn't eat it, plus I just looked at the bill and they m sure at least a $5 tip or as given but it was over $45. We intended to go to the burley oak outdoor area when the skies opened and it began to downpour, so we chose to duck into Burn Wood instead around 4:30pm. While it's not the most endearing interior, it certainly exceeded our expectations. Our table of 4 adults, a toddler and a baby all enjoyed our meals and were entertained by the live music (my 3 year old danced the entire time). The pizza is defiantly the highlight, but the wings and subs were great too. It's fairly no frills--paper plates and a seat yourself dinning room, but the service was attentive and food met our needs. Walked in on a busy Friday night in late February of 2021. I got two steps in the door, stopped in my tracks, and turned around and immediately left. No employees were wearing masks, nor any patrons. Once upon a time there was an amazing symbiont relationship between Burn and Burley Oak. Go to the Oak, order some pizza, they'd walk it over. Pretty awesome. Then a shift occurred and it all went down hill. New owner came in, started opening the shop late, bad attitude, opened a competing bar - which is all good, but then started acting like a chump when you would try to order pizza from Burley Oak. Last night pushed me to finally write a review. I go on their website to order some food - in big bold letters it reads - NOW A DINE IN BAR!! Carry out and we even deliver to burley oak!! I call to place the order and ask if they could deliver to burley oak and the owner immediately gets pissy and says, "I have my own bar to run! I can't be running food over to you! You need to get it yourself!" Ok - sorry? You advertise it on your website. So I walk over to pick it up and there is one person in the whole place sitting at the bar. As I leave burley oak, I see the other guy in there jump on his bike to deliver a pizza down the road past burley oak. What a chump. Lost a long time customer. Dude really dropped the ball. Update your website before you mouth off to your customers about walking a pizza across the street. Ordered wings and a salad. They gave us no forks, no knives, no napkins. My family and I arrived and were sitting for 20 minutes and no one even took our order. There was really only 3 tables seated, so not very busy. We ordered drinks and they never asked what we were going to order. I caught the server and she was walking away from delivering our drinks (and not taking our order) to ask for a soda. She hadn't even brought that out by the time we decided to leave. We left ten dollars, which the probably didn't even deserve, for the drinks and left. Only saw 2 workers and only one bartender, which is surprising considering it was Oktoberfest in Berlin. The service was also disappointing when I received my takeout order: the associate just gave me the boxes and walked away, without any words. I was also overcharged for one of the items but wanted to get out as soon as possible. I didn't feel welcomed at all, being stared at by guests, and was the only non-white person there. We absolutely love this place! Different varieties of Pizza (the Rustic is MY favorite), delicious regular kinds of pizza, and entrees. Yes, after our first visit, we've definitely been back many times and brought visiting family and friends to enjoy this great dining experience. We've always had good service, and yes, at times a little slow. I've read some of the reviews here from 2020 and have to say, in fairness, due to covid staffing was an issue all over this area, as well as all over in general. Local TV asked that we be patient and understanding because food establishments were hard hit with staffing shortages because some were sick and some vulnerable ones did not want to come in for possible exposures. Wait staff who did come in were overwhelmed. I live close by and know that to be true all over. So if you want to try some great pizza, stop in--one of our favorite stops! read more
