Stopped by to get a gift for a friend. Ordered the speciality croissants. Six. I usually get them in Elizabethtown. They had to make them to order. They look different than the ones in ETown. Smaller and skimpy toppings for $12.75 cents for six pastries. I am so disappointed. They kept going to the microwave to nuke the drizzle. They look pathetic. I will not be giving them to anyone. The young lady asked me did I still want them. Out of a sense of doing what is right I paid for them. This Burneys is nothing like the one in ETown. Update: I called the Burneys in Etown and asked if they are associated or owned by same. Unfortunately each location is franchised. That explains the difference in stores and product. Friends told me Burneys croissants were better than Krispy Kreme doughnuts which could be considered blasphemous here in NC. I went in there today to get a cake for my nephew. I wanted happy birthday written on it. The owner or manager, whoever he was, told me it was a Friday afternoon and they didn't have time for that. I understand Fridays are busy, there was a much nicer way to say that. He was extremely rude and I will never go back. Went by late Saturday night hoping to get some croissants for Mother's Day. As I expected they were which was no big deal. Like I said I expected them to be because the croissants are sooo good. We were greeted by two young ladies that we're very nice. I asked if we were able to pre order for tomorrow (Sunday- Mother's Day). Took my order and said we'll see you in the morning. Came by next day and was 4 th in line. Things were moving very slow. Before I was waited and still one person in front of me I looked at my watch 10:17am. That's 17 minutes and 3 customers waited on. Definitely understaffed for a special day. What looked like a manager or owner finally came out to "help". Seemed mad. Maybe cuz understaffed or because she had to work. I will say that the young lady working the front was very nice and trying her best. However they seemed unorganized, unprepared and agitated. So when I finally got waited on, yup you guessed it, no record of my order. Owner asked me from across the store( loud) if I placed the order over the phone which I didn't. I placed it in person. She made me feel like because they didn't have my order I wasn't going to get any at all. Silly of course but my interaction with her made me feel. So I did get my order after waiting again and they were a big hit. They are delicious. The young lady at the front was apologizing to all the customers and it wasn't her fault. Gave 2 stars because of customer service. Even when awe have "good" service it just takes a long time. You place the order, they go back into the kitchen and make them then you get them. Made to order. Seems they just need a better and fast way of doing thing. Like set up a prep table closer to the front instead of Way in the back. read more

I ordered several dozen of the Burney's croissants for a work event and they went like hot cakes! Everyone loved them as it's something different than just any old dessert. Had a variety pack - we chose lemon, apple, chocolate, Bavarian cream and plain glazed. Them chocolate was a HIT but the lemon was not a fan favorite. This place has a really good homemade honey bun. I also tried the chocolate covered strawberries but wasn't very impressed with them. Chocolate was really thick and strawberries were mushy underneath. read more
