I have tried this place TWICE and both times the people working were rude, rushed you to just pick something, and the pastries were HORRIBLE. Very sad considering the fact that this bakery has been around for a long time. Maybe they decided to give up? I'm not sure. I ordered a lemon bar and it was INCREDIBLY sweet. Where was the lemon at though? And what was that nasty, gritty, jelly like substance that was sitting in the middle of a pillsbury quality crust? My husband got a cheese danish and that thing should have been called the hockey puck. It was so hard you could make music with it by beating on the table. I have never in my life had such a horrible bakery experience like I did here. How is this place still open. read more

The donuts here are so good. They are simple but yet good. They are fluffy and the frosting on top is delicious.

Ordered cake on a Friday for the following Tues at 10am to be picked up. Got there at 10:15 and cake was still not ready..... looked rushed and decorations were terrible. Cake was ok but nothing to order again . Also purchased some tarts while waiting and threw all of them away when tried them. I purchased coconut pie and apple pie 00 December 22,2022. The coconut pie was greasy crumbly, dry and salty. The apple pie was frozen it was not cooked. I had to throw it away. My auto put in a few days ahead of time. It was not right for them not to have my order correct. The service was poor. read more

Have been getting Mickeys cakes since I was a small child. 40+ years later and Mickeys cake never disappoints! The sponge is always soft and delicious and the frosting has just the right amount of sweetness. Introduced my husband to Mickeys cake recently and he ended up eating like 3/4 of the cake! I was the only person in the front and still had to wait almost 5 minutes before the lady asked if I needed help. I asked about ordering a speciality cake and the lady went back to the back to get a catalog. While she was in the back, another lady walked in. When the employee walked back out, she stopped helping me. Then carried on a conversation with the other customer. I walked out. The employee came out to me and told me they can make any cake and to just come back with the image I want. A good value for sweet treats. I was impressed by the prices per dozen and half down for brownies. The bakery was clean and had a small area for children to play. I didn't see many places to sit and eat. But I think it's more of a carry out or order and pick up bakery. Their wedding cake display is impressive. They have specialty cupcakes but I usually get the ready to take half dozen cupcakes. They are very good. read more

Used to be awesome but items I purchased there were not fresh at all. I traveled to Goldsboro which is an hours drive away and while there stopped by to purchase some treats for my family. We didn't eat the goodies until I arrived home and found that 75% of everything that I purchased was stale. Ugh!! Awful!! No more....completely off the list as a family favorite. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! They have HORRIBLE customer service. I ordered a carrot cake and I don't know what I got but it wasn't that. Carrot cake is supposed to be brown but this was white. The decorations on top of the cake were abysmal. I wanted a refund or another cake but instead got told they would only accept if it was the whole cake which makes no sense and she suggested I give the rest to the soup kitchen, which they don't even deserve. DO NOT GO HERE AND WASTE YOUR MONEY. Horrible food and even more horrible customer service! I felt it doesn't even rate a star but was forced to put a star on it. read more

We were visiting from out of town and were happy to find the staff were very friendly and attentive. The prices were very reasonable and everything ordered, from cookies, to doughnuts, to brownies, were fresh, moist, flavorful, and delicious, without being too sweet. Mickey's is a gem in Goldsboro's crown. Whether you live in town or are just passing by you owe it to yourself to try Mickey's. (The cream puffs are THE best item in the display case.) read more

I wasn't pleased with the experience when ordering a cake. Owner was not rude but not nice either. If she did not want to bake the cake she should have said so. I ordered a two layer cake and paid $$$ for it. I provided a picture of the cake I wanted. Pink with cream dots. I was given a cake with stripes on the bottom layer and dots in the top layer. Icing was not thoroughly mixed as there was color variation. It looked homemade, not a cake ordered at a professional bakery. It tasted good. Nothing special. I am more baffled by the experience than being upset. Just wonder where customer service went. And no, I have not spoken to the owner about the stripes vs. dots...I just do not think she would care. I will not order another cake from there but I will still be going for the Cream Horns. After all a person has to have priorities. read more

I have been here twice--the first time the lady working was super nice and the second time it was someone else who left me feeling terrible about myself. I went in to inquire if they made custom iced cookies and she rudely said no and turned her back on me after I tried to clarify what I asked. I have never felt so sad after being to a bakery! I hadn't been to Goldsboro in probably 20 years and these donuts have haunted me for most of that time. So imagine my excitement when I found out this place was still open and still churning out donuts. I'd put these up against the totally nationally overrated doughnut shop we have in ATL any day. Fluffy, soft, and melt in your mouth goodness, there isn't much in this shop that disappoints. The creme filled donuts are my favorite and perfect with a glass of milk! The dough they use for all the pastries is perfectly sweetened and I also enjoyed the caramel brownie as well. read more

This pastry shop is so disappointing. It has been in Goldsboro forever but the quality of the pastries is unacceptable. The last few times I've been the pastries have been VERY dry and cookies described as "chewy" were anything but. It seems as though the pastries have been made either very early and are stale by lunch or were not even made the same day. More than day old. You are better off buying donuts from Dunkin or Krispy Kreme and leaving them on your counter overnight. The result would still be less stale than Mickey's patries. This place is far too expensive to serve such disgusting treats. read more

I've been going to Mickey's for 30 + years. The cream puffs are the best along w/the lemon puffs. I think I could live off their cinnamon/raisin buns. Long time family run business. Smells so sweet in there. Much better than K Kreme. read more
