We are on our way home from Lake Tahoe . We decided to stop here for dinner because we love their Sacramento location and we were excited they served food here. Beer was excellent as always. After sharing with my husband and kids I decided to take my sandwich to go since I only ate the fries. My daughter left 1/2 her Sandwich so we added that too, as well as wings we didn't finish. We paid and packed up to leave. I used the restroom quickly and when I met them outside I realized I had left the to go box on the table. I asked our son to go inside and get it. He was told it got thrown away. How?! Why?! I'm sure it's a common mistake that people get up walk to their car and realize they left their to go box. If it's in a box. Clearly people want to take it home. Not ok. This was all within minutes. Not one apology. Money and food wasted. Do better. read more

First time here and the place is outstanding. Had the Classic Chicken Sando with a side salad, the sandwich was delicious without being overdone . Service was very quick and friendly. I had the Fireside Stories porter. The beer was excellent, smooth flavor with a nice cream texture. The ambience is very nice, but the regular chairs were a bit short for my wife so we sat at a raised table instead. read more

Love the venue. I recommend the PESTO chicken sandwich. However, make sure the kitchen puts pesto on it!! At no extra charge!

My husband and I wanted to try this place and we were both very happy with the setting, the food and drinks, and the staff. We had pastrami sandwiches that were delicious and included the most amazing French fries! They were crispy and had a great flavor. I had an old fashioned which was just right. My husband had their Mexican beer and really enjoyed it. All of this was great, but made even better by a very friendly and helpful staff. They made us feel very welcome and we will definitely be back and will bring friends. read more

what a great place to have in placerville now. i've never been to their rancho location, but now i have a reason to check it out! we were instantly greeted by Matt who gave us the run down of everything -- from drink recommendations to excellent service; he made our experience a 10/10! we decided to order a few things to try, and it was all wonderful. the pretzel paired perfectly with their house made beer cheese. the creole mustard dip it comes with is also fantastic! we also got the barrel bomb fries (& per Matt's recommendation!) added the pulled pork. total pro move. the fries weren't soggy at all and remained crunchy throughout the entire meal -- the pulled pork was seasoned perfectly, and i assure you, i could've eaten the whole tray by myself.. *insert drool emoji*. we also got the buffalo wings naked with a side of the korean crack sauce. i'm convinced crack is in the sauce because despite the heat, you just want more! (for legal reasons, there is no crack in the sauce). tons of seating inside and out, despite it being fairly busy. parking is limited to a smaller lot and some street parking! we tried the shamrecker swirl and the desert nectar which were both absolutely divine. will definitely be back, and have been craving those fries ever since. a must try if you're in the area! read more

Recently went to Burning Barrel Brewery in Placerville. The Interior has a very cool vibe. Comfortable seating. The staff was very knowledgeable, warm & welcoming. We tried a flight of all different kinds of beers. There are many different unique beers on draft which made the tasting experience fun. Out of all 6 beers that we tasted, My favorite was a great Hazy IPA I believe it was called juice Bloom. The Food is nothing to write home about. If they spent the time and attention that they put in the beers, sauces, "panini pressing the top of the bun". In actual good quality ingredients. I think they'd have a 5 star place. read more

This place opened Friday November 07, 2024. I visited on Saturday at opening and there were 20-12 already here I had the Bavarian Bräu and a pretzel.Pretzel was huge! Cheese sauce tasty as well. Very disappointing visit to Burning Barrel. Ambiance nothing to write home about. We were interested in sampling their spirits, but tastings were not available. The best we could do was a poorly premade cocktail--A Martini in my case--using their Ghost Pine Gin. i was interested in trying the gin as well as their Nocina, but since tastes were not available I was reluctant to spend $40 on an unknown liquor. The martini was weak and tasted like water. Again, if I could have tried the gin neat, I may have been open to taking a bottle home. The counter people were uninformed and not helpful. All they could seem to say was, "We don't do that here." Needless to say I will not be returning for a second visit. read more

My only complaint is they don't provide a hard copy receipt. WTF? They required me to give them my email to receive a receipt. No...that's wrong. If I use my credit card for a transaction then you better believe I want a hard copy receipt of the transaction. Invest in a printer. Nuff said. Stupid. Visited this past week, it was amazing! Beer was fantastic, even for a non-beer drinker like myself! If you're like me, then you'll love their sours! They have a good variety of cocktails too, I had the Blood of the Elders cocktail - SO good! There's something for everyone. For food, I ordered the grilled chicken panini with fries. Let me tell you, I could eat that sandwich everyday!! The fries were so good and crispy, and their ranch is the best in town! The service was amazing! Corianne is a rockstar and makes amazing cocktails!! The whole staff was so friendly and helpful and made sure we were all taken care of. I've never felt so welcomed walking into a restaurant. The in-home brewed beers, ciders & ales were delicious! I really enjoyed the Reef Referesher I think it was called? With a hint of coconut milk?! Delicious! And the Korean wings were AMAZING! Tangy, savory and the perfect amount of crispy breading. No sogginess, not oily, and not too hard to where Im scared of breaking my teeth on them. Not usually one to leave reviews but I'm genuinely confused by some of these bad comments. They have a great selection of drinks and food has been good every time I've gone. It's also been super busy every time we go, even on a weekday so I'm not sure what some of the comments about it being empty. I feel like it's a really great addition to our downtown and it's nice having a place like this that's clean and stays open a little later. Not impressed. Cocktails according to counter help are pre made and there are no sample sizes of liquors available. You can't get a martini the way you want it. Nor can you get a shot so they make it hard to know if you want to buy them. When inquiring about the cocktails they do serve counter help didnt know. Very not helpful and unsmiling. Food menu is uninspired typical brew pub chicken sandos, fries pretzels etc. ho hum. Didn't try the beer, the list looked like it could be interesting. Fantastic food, great drinks! Beautiful wood tables. I ordered the espresso martini (I can't remember their name for it!) my husband ordered a beer flight; all fantastic! Customer service was terrible. My wife tried to order a drink with Vodka instead of Gin and was told "there are no substitutions." When I went to order her a second drink I asked the person taking the order to muddle the mint this time. She said she would try to have the bartender do it but they don't really take special orders. And of course the drink came out without the mint muddled. Really? You can't muddle a mint? I don't think anyone knows what customer service is anymore. I've been going to Burning Barrels brewery location since 2020 and I've always loved them. I was super stoked when I heard about them opening a distillery in Placerville! Everything is amazing and the staff always out does themselves, especially Heather and Gio. Super friendly staff that remembers what I like and always helps me with great recommendations.
