The food here is excellent. Unfortunately that's about it. I feel like they opened too soon before the business was ready and it's going to hurt them in the long run. Despite advertising draft beer and cocktails none of the beer taps worked and they don't even have a full liquor license so the only real drink options were can beer and cheap wine. The doors were wide open while we were there and it was freezing. The tables were wobbly and sticky. But like i said, the food is really good. So after the first visit I tried to order food to go via DoorDash and after about an hour of waiting the restaurant cancelled the order. I judon't see this place lasting very long which is unfortunate because we need good Mexican food in Placerville. read more

Diablo's Bar Lounge and Grill is such a funky and different experience! We got to eat and hang out inside a cave. The lighting, the atmosphere, and the setup made it feel super fun and unique. This place is great. I work night shift and last week I called in an order and asked for "champurrado" Mexican hot chocolate. They didn't have it on the menu but Luis and his wife went out of their way to make it for me. Not only that but they made enough for my entire night shift crew. And it was delicious. To the person that gave a bad review for the banquet rental, please reconsider your post. Luis went out of his way to rent out his restaurant to you at an agreed price for an agreed number of people. He spent money on staff, decorations etc based on the number of people you agreed would attend. Just because not all the guests attended doesn't mean you don't have to pay the agreed cost. Bad reviews like that are not honest reviews. And this place is doing everything possible to please all their guests. The food, drinks and customer service is great. read more

This was my second visit to this vibrant establishment, and it was just as memorable as the first. On my initial outing, I arrived late at night, greeted by the lively atmosphere of a bustling bar crowd. I got a Carne Asada burrito and a plate of pupusas, both of which were extraordinary. The wet burrito, generously smothered in rich red sauce, was massive and flavorful. This time, I opted for the green enchiladas and the trio street taco platter featuring carne asada during my recent visit. The guacamole was terrific, and the meat was cooked perfectly. Once again, I was treated to an exceptional dining experience. The service was excellent. The menu was a QR code, which I don't mind, but it is good to know. Each dish burst with freshness and robust flavors, leaving me thoroughly impressed and yearning for more. I also talked with the owner for a bit, and he was very accommodating, passionate, and welcoming. OMG I just had the most amazing dinner experience ever. The Owners Luis and Wendy sure know how to make you feel at home. I wanted something spicy. Which is hard to find here in Placerville. Luis made me the most amazing Michelada and Wendy out did that with some fantastic Carne Asada. Very tender and the presentation was fantastic. The really know how to make you happy and try really hard. They have some very cool rooms that scream Party party get together. Some pics attached. We got there and got brought out to dusty patio furniture without the cushions and an outdoor coffee table, for 9 people. The waitress was so checked out, ordering was a fiasco and it was slow. I don't know who they have writing their reviews but I don't think it's the general public maybe family and friends because there is no way they would have almost 5 starts!! $12 for chips and guacamole where you only get a handful of chips that were rockhard and freezing cold. I mentioned to the waitress our unsatisfactory and all she had to say was "oh well we're under new ownership so we don't have everything figured out yet " which is understandable but I think for a Mexican restaurant one of the main things that you should get down first is serving hot fresh chips and not to mention they don't even have any salsa! we should've walked out then when we heard that, but we decided to give the quesadilla a try and yet again we were disappointed. It was very soggy and didn't have no crisp to it at all the flavor was subpar. definitely would not recommend going there.Much better options for Mexican food in town. read more

The owner was friendly but overly talkative and pushy about reviews and over selling his place, etc, etc, etc. My friends and I barely got to visit with each other because the owner took up all of our time. It was 40 something degrees outside and they had both exterior doors open. They do not serve whiskey. My friend ordered a mimosa. It was mostly orange juice and a splash of champagne. My other friend ordered a mimosa as well and told the bartender the proper way to make a mimosa. Bartender didn't offer to fix the other friend's mimosa. My friend had to uncomfortably ask. Although, after we ate, the owner gave them each little more than half a mimosa for free. That was kind. Michelada's are awesome. Bathrooms are clean although to change the toilet paper if it runs out, you have to spend a bit amount of time unscrewing the holder.Kind of annoying. Also, pictures on menu don't match what the food looks like. They are a friendly, flavorful place. They just need some refinement in some areas and self awareness with their customers. read more
