Basic solid dining choice on downtown Main Street I. Placerville. They serve American pub food. Has over 20 taps. Family friendly. They even have a kids menu (kids 10 and under). Plus they have an outdoor patio. My favorite menu items are the salads and burgers. The salad options are not boring. Fresh and flavorful. Burgers are fat and juicy. My fave go to is the steak & arugula salad. But on my last visit I tried their chicken wings and sushi. Yup, I know that's an odd pairing. But that's what I wanted. Then you're probably wondering... say what, sushi at a tap house?! Well the addition of sushi is new. The menu had lots of different kinds of rolls and sashimi cuts. I went for it and ordered the Wave Rider roll. The roll was delicious and substantial size. Great flavors. Beautiful plated presentation. I luved the little flower that was on the plate. Main Street Tap House is a good spot. I've eaten there a couple times and had a positive experiences. I ordered a cheeseburger during my last visit. It was a good size, came on a nice fluffy bun, and tasted great. It cost $17.50 before tax and tip and came with a healthy serving of fries. They brought me ranch without charging me extra, which I really appreciate. I sat at the bar and the bartender Victor did a great job. He was attentive and hard working. After checking out Gold Bug Park just up the road, we worked up an appetite and decided to check out Main Street Tap House - located on Main Street in Placerville. We decided to sit on the patio since it was nice outside - they also offer a ton of seating inside and I also spotted a huge bar area. They are also dog friendly! We ordered the Kids Cheese Flatbread, Reuben Sandwich with Garlic Fries and the BOJ Burger. My daughter devoured her Flatbread and my husband really liked his Reuben Sandwich - I liked all of the toppings that came on my BOJ Burger, but the hamburger patty itself was not seasoned and it weirdly made the whole burger lack in flavor even though there was bacon, onion jam and gouda on it. Our friends also enjoyed their food as well! They offer a large beer menu and a fun cocktail list - I almost ordered one, but decided not to. I will have to next time! Tap House was the destination for a friend's birthday. A party table was set up and we were tended to by two staff members. The staff was attentive and dishes were presented and cleared accordingly. The food was good but not spectacular as in the past. They've added sushi to their menu, a few people tried it; they wouldn't order it again. Only giving 3 stars because the service was great. Ashley was a great server and very attentive. Plus, they have a great tap list. Now the food, not so great. The dirty garlic fire are so good but they put way too much sauce on them and it is almost like you are eating soup. I asked if they could put less and she said she would tell them, but that is how they come. My husband ordered sushi, he gave it a 4/10. Not that great. I ordered their version of a taco salad with steak. Not good at all. The steak was fatty and had a bunch of gristle I couldn't eat it! The guacamole was almost brown and looks disgusting. So, we arrived at this location for a Thursday night dinner. Walked in, asked to be seated and the hostess tried to put us in this dark portion of the restaurant which was disappointing. Had it been busier, I would have understood but there were plenty of other options. Ordered egg rolls (I think they were Santa Fe), asked the waiter how many pieces - he said 5 or 6 he thought. When he brought out the egg rolls, there were 3 of them...cut in half. SMH! The food itself was middling to decent, but the service was atrocious. Service: Great, our server took great care of us during our visit Drinks: I wasn't sure how good the cocktails would be at a tap house but I will remember this blood orange specialty fondly. It was delicious Food: The burger was okay. I don't think the separate pieces together (bacon, onion jam, Gouda cheese) were greater than the whole but it was fine. The side salad is exactly what I want when I order a side salad, and I'm not ashamed to say it. Ambiance: It's a big space and it was still warm out so there were folks enjoying the lit patio. So I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I looked through reviews before coming back and didn't see anyone really mention this. I'd always considered this place pretty middle-of-the-road -- not bad, not amazing. Burgers are decent, tacos are maybe a 6-7/10. Solid enough spot to grab food. What brought us back was the sushi they were posting on social media. My wife got excited to try it, so we decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, it was rough. The fish quality itself seemed fine, but the rolls were disappointing overall. The rice was overly pasty/sticky, and the sauces completely overpowered everything else. A fun, open setting with tasty food, beverage, and friendly service! I stopped in to read my book while enjoying the afternoon and couldn't have been happier. It can be a little noisy if it is busy, noise travels well in the big space, but my server was wonderful! I recommend the southwestern egg rolls and buffalo crispy chicken salad. Came for lunch while visiting my dad in Placerville. It was pretty busy but it was a holiday weekend. Service was still fast though - we were seated with my parents' favorite server and she was very friendly. I got the crispy cantina bowl and my boyfriend ordered the French dip sandwich and fries. The food came out quickly and the portions were pretty big. My salad was good but could've used more guacamole as it barely had any. The sandwich was good also but there was a lot more bread than meat. And the only sauce for the fries was ketchup, not sure if they had other options but if so, it wasn't clear. Came back from backpacking at loon lake with family and this is the spot we always go too! They make perfectly medium rare puppy Pattie's and the food portions are huge!! No matter what people have said I have always liked this place. But, today changed my mind. Their prices have almost doubled. Loved the chips with cheese as as an appetizer but it's now it's almost $20 so we didn't order it. We waited 20 min after I asked where our server was for water, then longer for food. I came out to Placerville to visit a number of Apple Hill ranches with my lovely and beautiful girlfriend. We have been to Placerville a handful of times throughout the last few years, but have never tried Main Street Tap House. After a long day of sugary apple baked goods, and a conversation on what we should eat next, we decided to take the leap of faith to try a place we have never been to since our day was inherently adventurous. When we walked in, I took notice of the good vibes and thought this is definitely a model of what all restaurant taprooms should strive for, as captured by some of a photos. The service overall was excellent, and a 5/5 experience throughout our meal. As for the meal, it was quite the journey. Since my diet for the day consisted of mostly sugar, coffee, and hard apple cider, my stomach was not feeling the best. I ordered the BBQ Burger with a Beyond Patty (I prefer to only eat meat at home). The meal itself started as a 3/5 due to the state of my stomach, but grew on me as I started to near the completion of my journey, ultimately ending at about a 3.5/5. I tend to judge a Tap House by their fries and ranch, which were honestly quite average, as so the burger. If you grow to know me, you'll understand that I love a great house-made ranch. My wife and I had to check out this restaurant/bar along with other businesses as we have purchased a house in Placerville. We were greeted by a friendly front of house host. This is a fairly large place with both indoor and outdoor dining and drinks. We decided to sit outside as it was a mild evening. We ordered the Mediterranean Flatbread for a light fare. It came out of the kitchen fairly quickly. It was very delicious with tomato basil sauce, feta, roasted red pepper, artichoke, kalamata olive, tomatoes on top of thin flatbread. The service we had was great. The patio ambience was very good. The food itself made me feel taken advantage of; probably the worst restaurant meal I've had in over 30 years. The kids burger was fine. Fries were fine. The other burger ordered medium well showed up medium rare, which is a food safety issue. These were the highlights of our meal. The tri-color chips and green chili cheese dip was absolutely disgusting. It was a can of hatch chilis dumped in with some cream cheese and a TON of mayonnaise. The chips weren't even tri-colored and clearly came from the cheapest bag of chips they could find at Costco. The Mediterranean flatbread was disgusting. The chicken bacon flatbread was disgusting. Cold drinks and filling food We were going through Placerville and asked a local business owner where we could get something good to eat. Main Street Tap House was on a list of three that was recommended to us. Main Street Tap House is located on Main Street Placerville and has a parking area right next to it. They also have an outside patio which on a nice day is treat. The beer menu includes about 25 options are on tap and more than half dozen in bottles and cans. If you are into wines or prefer a cocktail, no worries, plenty of options there too! We started with a variety of drinks including Kombucha and apple cider and chicken wings. Our wonderful server suggested we go 50/50. I do not recall the options but one was spicier than the other, so I want to say traditional buffalo wings and chipotle lime rub! They were both good. We then ordered three dishes, Shrimp Fettuccini Alfredo, Crispy Cantina Bowl and Baby Back Ribs . The first scored a bullseye! Crispy Cantina Bowl was good, but the Baby Back Ribs fell short of the mark. The service was simply awesome! Our server, Amoreena, was simply awesome and took very good care of our table.
