Even though it was Mother's Day and the place was absolutely packed to the gills, the operation here is a well-oiled machine. They were utilizing their overflow lot, but thanks to our reservations, we were sat almost immediately. The old barn vibe is incredibly cool and laid-back, but it still felt special enough for an occasion. My wife loved the cozy feel of the rustic wood tables and the massive stone fireplace. We started with the dinner rolls--which are so soft, hot, and pillowy--and a plate of fried pickles that were easily the best we've ever tried. For the main event, I ordered the 15oz Ribeye (cooked to a perfect, juicy medium-rare with a great char) and my wife went with the Filet topped with their garlic herb butter. The steaks here definitely live up to the hype--tender, perfectly seasoned, and served with a cute little American flag on top. The only minor downside is that they do upcharge for a lot of the premium sides (like the potato casserole or mac and cheese), so your bill can add up quickly. But the standard baked potatoes and side salads that came with the steaks fit the bill just fine for us. Our server was so sweet and attentive, and she completely sold us on trying dessert. We ended up sharing the Key Lime pie and the white chocolate blueberry bread pudding. Let me tell you, that bread pudding is absolute fire--so rich, warm, and comforting. To top off a great evening, the proprietor actually walked around to our table to check on the meal and wish my wife a Happy Mother's Day. Talk about great southern hospitality. We left absolutely stuffed and happy. We will definitely be back!

This reminds me of the old style steak joints that Sinatra liked. I don't know why it is called Kennel Club. There are few dog paintings inside. They have a lot of music memorabilia on the walls. Several Sinatra albums by the way. I had the grilled red fish. It was a nice size filet that was moist and cooked perfectly. It came with a large shrimp and a seafood sauce, plus a baked potato. It was really good. I'd order it again. I had a nice red wine with it. $11 for a Joel Gott Cabernet wasn't bad either. The staff was attentive. I have no complaints. I asked for the guest WiFi password and surprisingly nobody knew it. I thought that was strange. I asked to sit at the bar. There was only one patron sitting at the end of the bar. She sat me right next to the patron. I thought that was weird. Another guy came to the bar and she sat him next to me. Why don't you let us just grab the seat we want. All in all, I'd definitely return again for dinner.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes…read more Everything was amazing. We started with a dozen tamales. They were seasoned perfectly and were delicious. Then they brought out the broiled shrimp. The sauce was so good, I could have bathed in it. It was like liquid lemon pepper. We dipped the garlic rolls into the sauce. So good. The steak was a 42-45 oz porterhouse that was the best steak I have even had. And I've been to some world famous steak restaurants. This blew Peter Lugers out of the water. The fries were fresh, hand cut and cooked perfectly, The salad was simple but one of my favorite parts of the meal. The staff was super friendly. The atmosphere was quaint and welcoming. This was far out of the way for us but so worth it.

Hell, I go to Doe's in Monroe every single time I am in Monroe. When I would profess my love for Doe's to my Mississippi friends they would always tell me: "you have to go to the Greenville location. It's the original". I figured they were right but also figured I would never be in Greenville since there are not many things to do there. But 2025 was the year that I finally made it here. We made a special stop on the way to Eureka Springs. It was everything I had hoped and I absolutely loved it. You must know that this is the original location and it is not fancy on the outside or the inside. Parking is mostly on the street and the neighborhood seems a wee bit sketchy. The building looks like an old house from the outside. Needless to say, the kids were skeptical and wondered why their dad drug them here. That continued when we walked in to the kitchen, walked through the other kitchen, and were seated in one of the rooms. One of the kids said: "I feel like I am dining at someone's house". Exactly. This place is famous! All skepticism was washed away when we got our food. A ribeye and fries for me and a fillet and fries for them to share. Both were perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and made this Doe's fan grin from ear to ear. It was a great meal I will remember forever. Was it cheap? Definitely not. For two entrees, a beer, and a tea, it was around $200 with a tip. Was it worth it to me? Hell yes. I freakin loved it. Is it worth a drive from New Orleans just to eat here? Probably not. Should you divert a road trip to eat here? Absolutely. By the way, service was exactly as you would expect. Super friendly and we were treated like regulars despite it being our first time. Also, there was a cop working outside so don't be scared.
