I believe it's called The Coffee Shoppe now, regardless great place to get food. It's a cute spot that has been updated in the past few years but still has a very homey feel. Decorated nicely and feels very clean. Great selection of breakfast and lunch foods that all taste delicious and for reasonable prices. Staff is very friendly and service was great. The owner is extremely hard working and you can tell she cares about the quality of the food being put out and having a positive impact in the Valley. Great food and atmosphere, definitely a place I would recommend and will be going back to.

Burnsies, The Coffee Shoppe, Tory's Place, S'elohssa or whatever you call it, it's been around a real long time because it has what it takes to stand. This is a no holds barred place that knows how to endure even when things are hard. Hats off to the owner. But I like to keep my hat on.

Flavorless French toast and a big pat of generic margarine...yum (sarcasm).

A little challenging to find - Yelp calls this Burnsies, but the outside only says "Coffee Shop". This was one of the very few times Yelpers have let me down. I am lost as to how this place has five stars. The eggs were not good. The potatoes were okay, but I have never met a potato I didn't like (I may have a problem there), and the French toast was likely the worst I have had anywhere, anytime. Couldn't taste vanilla, cinnamon, or spices of any kind. The "Maple Syrup" on the my table was equally as bad as it tasted like half water, half syrup - no flavor. The small town diner thing where everyone knows each other, and nothing has changed inside in 30 years can only get you so far - the flavors have to be there and they were blatantly missing last Tuesday morning in Naugatuck. If you are a foodie, you will likely be very disappointed.

    Looks pretty good!

Just got done eating the Western Omelette w/ Cherry Peppers added... All I can say is WOW! The perfect amount of spice and flavor combined in one omelette! Among the amazing omelette were home fries and toast, very worthy of the $7.50 I paid. The staff were very pleasant and were very quick. A diamond in the ruff, 5 stars.

This is MY opinion. No critic here, so I don't criticize but rather share honest opinions on services or products.

Whenever I travel to my hometown and see my BFF Lora Kennedy, she's wanted me to try some great small town diner grub at Burnsies (she's got love for the place having worked there for many years). Inevitably, I always seem to miss it due to the diner's hours (or mine). On my last day in CT recently I had to be at JFK for 8am. Lora was driving me, we had just a short time to grab coffee and breakfast before getting in route, not much would be open and we didn't want any McDouchald's or the like. She suggested Burnsies. I must say from the beginning I loved the small town atmosphere, joking and whoa!...did that great smell of bacon, eggs and coffee, all wrapped nicely together grab and pull me in! Bill the owner was busy cooking at the grill and getting out the orders. He made it look effortlessly as he was methodical in his prep and delivery (I'd have been going batty). I noticed how all appeared to feel comfortable. Shoot, Lora walked around the counter and poured our coffee for us just like she was at a friends. Hey, it was 1 less thing Bill had to do! Thanks Lora for suggesting Burnsies and thanks Burnsies for an awesome send off with your delicious BE&C sandwich and hot fresh coffee! For good Americana comfort food, Burnsies is a must when in Naugatuck.

This is the best hole in the walll place I ever been too! I get such a homie vibe when I walk in and the staff was very nice and great. Customer service was amazing the staff had so many regulars return back and they know their orders by heart. You don't even need to say a word and they will already know your order. Steve (sorry I think his name is Steve) the guy on the grill is killing it. Dude is a precision machine of aerodynamics and he can cook! I got the two eggs with toast, hash and bacon and OHH MY GOD BRUH MY BALLS DROPPED. THIS WAS SOME HEARTY SOUTHERN COOKING IN FREAKING NY?! I'm from Texas and they don't even have some breakfast spots like this! Overall check this place out it is amazing!

Burnsies is a hidden gem in Naugatuck, it's the kind of diner you look for in a town. It's a place the locals go, the regulars know your name as does the staff. Food is exactly what you want, fresh, good, fast and inexpensive. Without any reference you could easily imagine sitting there in the 60's and 70's and it would probably look and smell the same. Prices are very fair. I highly recommend the home fries, reminds me of the home fries I had in my youth at the long gone Teds Spa in Seymour. The coffee is exactly as good as you would expect and the cup is always filled. Burnsies is very small so if you plan on going Sunday morning try to go early an

You can call breakfast ahead and pick up on your way to UConn. It's a time warp, like the vintage feel.

Yeah, I totally forgot to review this on Saturday when I actually went. Now that I've made my way…read moreback here, I can now finally work on this review in earnest. I've been meaning to come to this place for a short while now. Honestly, the name of this establishment itself is pretty cool. Loaded Goat? Makes me think "liddy on a stack", and anything that makes me think "liddy on a stack" I gotta go check out. I actually tried to write a review here from the last week, but as I was writing, I'd realized something I don't always come across. I was at an impasse and couldn't finish this review on that visit, so I had to plan another trip here. Right away, I notice that rustic interior that's also quite cozy. There many flavors of coffees and latte to choose from with shots if you want something a little extra. Also, the prices here are very reasonable. I didn't get time to sit inside last time, but this time I had a much more laid-back experience. The vibe reminds me a little of a North Carolina ambiance with a splash of California mixed in for good measure. North Carolina because of the interior, and California because of the music. On this visit, the guy tending to me told me the microwave was down, so I couldn't have my croissant toasted. That was quite alright though since I had 2 more stops to make anyway, with one being about half hour's drive away from here. Besides, the croissant was still one of the better croissants I've had in a long time and seasoned perfectly, so I have no complaints, toasted or not. The coffees I had were the Snickers on my first visit and the Coconut Creme Pie Latte this time around. Both lattes were, indeed, liddies on stacks! They were both GOATED, and honestly I would come here more often if my schedules were more friendly to coming here. I have no complaints about this place period. I don't say this following kind of statement often, but I actually prefer this to Starbuck's! That's just how goated this place is.

The new space is bright, welcoming, and much more accessible to people who may have never discovered this hidden gem before. While I wondered if something would be lost leaving that small neighborhood setting behind, it didn't take long to realize the opposite. The owners, the staff, and the loyal customers have all brought the same warmth and sense of family with them. It still feels like home. I'll admit, though, I was crushed when I learned that Taylor Ham didn't make the move to the new menu. If you read my older reviews, that's actually what brought me through their doors in the first place. It genuinely broke my heart. But loyalty goes both ways. I love this place, so instead of dwelling on what isn't there, I'm making my way through the menu looking for a new favorite. Today I tried the Jalapeño Whopper--bacon, grilled jalapeños, and cream cheese on an everything bagel. It was really good. I discovered that warm cream cheese just isn't my thing, but that's 100% on me, not the sandwich. I also ordered the Gootz: sausage, egg, provolone, sautéed mushrooms, and cherry peppers on a garlic bagel. Outstanding. I'd order that again without hesitation. I'm going to keep working my way through the menu in hopes of finding something that fills the Taylor Ham-sized hole in my heart. And even if I never do, I'll happily keep coming back for their outstanding bagels, incredible spreads, great food, and the feeling you get every time you walk through the door. And while their coffee service is a little different with the pots behind the counter, it's still fantastic. Some places serve breakfast. DeRocco's feels like home.

Then came this past Thanksgiving weekend where it required traveling on I-84 from Cape Cod to get to Danbury and my mom, sister and I decided to try you out. Now, I am in the dog house because they want to know when the next time that we are going. I had the chicken club and it was absolutely delicious. A huge piece of chicken with plenty of flavor. My sister had the short rib sandwich and was raving about it once we continued our drive saying she was so glad she had it even though she had short ribs herself for dinner the previous night. I don't know if that's an indictment on her cooking or what, but she loved it. The star however was the cod dinner that mom had. It was one of the flakiest and freshest pieces of fish she had ever had. We got a very late start to our trip, so by the time 2:00 came on the Saturday afternoon came, we practically had the whole place to ourselves. The only gripe that we had ( not that we necessarily would have changed anything ) was that we noticed after we ordered that the table next to us got a specials menu and we didn't. It was nice and quiet as our waitress let us have a quiet late lunch and if we were ever in the area ever again, we would make a b-line back to the restaurant.
