    What a cute diner!!
    Maria T.

This cute diner/restaurant/cafe is the Alpha & Omega baby!! Such a sweet, friendly vibe! I was warmly greeted, seated, and "meeted"!! The owner came and introduced himself and gave me a mini history of his restaurant career! He used to own the Neptune Restaurant. I popped in on Thanksgiving day and it was mildly busy. The servers were all so accommodating, especially my darling lady, Jess, what a perky, lovely person! My goodness... the bakery is incredible! While I was there, people were lined up snapping up all the desserts! So if you like sweets, you'd better hurry. One of the owners (?) even gave a couple some free pastries! So nice! The cakes are beautiful and the pies are amazing! I had a slice of pumpkin pie with a nice cuppa Earl Grey tea, and I was so enamored by this "gourd"geous and scrumptious pie, that I ended up getting a whole pie to bring home! The folks here couldn't be more accommodating and even allowed me a special favor involving whipped cream!! Shhhh, it's our little secret!! Back to the pie... it's creamy yet dense, a captivating crust, with the pumpkin filling not too sweet, just how I love it!! Wow! I'll be craving this pie for eons!! Just like my mom used to make! I also picked up a box of shortbread cookies - everything here is homemade! They are opened til 3 today, but usually opened for breakfast, lunch & dinner! I only had a "snack" today but I know I'll be back for dinner, the Greek food sounds fabulous, and they also serve Italian and American fare. I dare you to find a cozier, friendlier eatery!

First thing I noticed upon entering the restaurant it was very spacious, and clean with both booths and tables. Food here was very disappointing. My friend and I both ordered bacon omelettes with a side order of homemade corn beef hash. They are very skimpy with the bacon in their omelettes. More like bacon bits instead of strips of bacon cut up. The corn beef hash was mostly potato with some corn beef mixed in. It started out to have flavor but quickly disappeared. Coffee was weak, and my friend could not drink his water because of the strong smell of chlorine.

Nice place for a morning. Great food, good service, good atmosphere. I ordered a hot chocolate (not a coffee guy), a Belgium waffle, and a side of bacon. All of that food was amazing and I highly recommend this place if you're bored and hungry in the morning! Good cafe!

Great place! Great food and service! Would like delivery tho! COVID 19 demands that! Shirley Miller

I met a girlfriend here for breakfast with her daughter and her daughters boyfriend. I was very surprised at how quickly our food came to us literally within 3 to 4 minutes and everything was very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as opposed to Athena diner

Onto the drinks and food which were so delicious and truly enjoyable. I got the Beachy Bee Iced Latte special, which is a honey vanilla latte with a coconut cold foam and toasted coconut on top (simply divine)! My fiancé got the cappuccino which was made just to his liking, and he's a coffee connoisseur. For food, I had the Bumble, which I highly recommend, with scrambled eggs, subbed with the gluten free sourdough bread (+$2 up-charge) and cheddar instead of American cheese. It's served all day and had so much flavor with that garlic butter, and the seasoned steak. Yum! If you are gluten free like me, you will appreciate that they have the gluten free sourdough bread or a gluten free wrap to substitute with. My partner had the Basic Bee with bacon and thought it was flavorful with light and fluffy scrambled eggs that complimented the bacon well. Overall, I would really recommend this place if you're looking for a breakfast or lunch in Wallingford!

I normally try to give places the benefit of the doubt, but our experience at The Bees Knees Bistro…read morein Wallingford was honestly very disappointing and upsetting. My family and I arrived while it was raining outside with our young daughters in strollers, expecting to sit down for a meal and get out of the weather. Instead, we were told we could not come in with the strollers and essentially felt unwelcome the moment we walked through the door. As parents of babies who are still too young to sit safely in high chairs on their own, the strollers are not optional for us , they are necessary. We were not being disruptive, rude, or inconsiderate. We were simply trying to have a meal as a family. Rather than attempting to accommodate us or show any understanding, we were left feeling like having children made us an inconvenience. What made the situation even worse was the fact that it was pouring outside. Any level of kindness or flexibility would have gone a long way. Instead, we felt embarrassed, frustrated, and honestly shocked by the lack of compassion and customer service. Families with young children already face enough challenges going out in public, and experiences like this make it even harder. We ended up leaving and taking our business somewhere else that was far more welcoming and understanding toward families. It is disappointing because we were genuinely looking forward to trying this restaurant, but first impressions matter. A restaurant does not need to be "kid-centered" to still treat parents and babies with basic respect and decency. I completely understand that restaurants may have space limitations or policies, but there is a respectful and compassionate way to handle situations like this. Instead, the experience came across as cold and dismissive. There are many restaurants in the area that are happy to accommodate families, and moving forward those are the businesses I will continue to support. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant to families with infants or children who still require strollers or extra accommodations. I wont be going back and giving them .you business, nor will I be recommending this place to anyone. Totally rude and discrimination towards those with babies. I did not feel cherished like their website says every guest is. Its sad because this will and im sure does effect their business. I will never give them my business after yesterday. No attempts at accommodating us or evening offering to let us sit outside, lazy staff, but yet there were 3 teenage girls taking names for the wait list. What a joke.

Macdonald had previously been the bar manager at Twelve Percent Beer Project for several years before deciding to leave and start his own business with his wife. The theme of Central Cafe, located in the Central Plaza, is of an old-school neighborhood bar with a modern craft twist. The drink menu features a nice variety of local craft beers on draught, craft bourbons and whiskeys, craft cocktails, and wines by the glass. The bar doesn't offer food, but patrons are allowed to bring in their own food. I recently visited Central Cafe for the first time. My cycling team, Team Craft Beer, was having a training ride in the morning and we all stopped at the bar afterwards. I've known Norm for several years because I visit Twelve Percent Beer Project fairly often and he was practically the face of the brewery: the "Twelve Percent Guy"! Well now he's the "Central Cafe Guy" and I was very happy to see that he went off on his own. He also recently became a member of the cycling team. After looking over their beer menu, I decided to order a draught pour of Other Half Brewing's "Green Flowers" (IPA). It was so refreshing after a long bike ride on a hot day. The bar seems like a really chill place and definitely has that old 'neighborhood bar' vibe. I wish Norm and Mar all the best and I hope to be back again soon!
