My husband ordered a plain bacon burger with nothing else on it (not even cheese...he is allergic) and he said it was "pretty good." We have a winner! You see, if the burger tastes good without all of the "stuff" piled on top, you can tell they know how to properly season and cook a burger. I had the Italian Hoagie with a side of cole slaw and everything was tasty without being too salty. Our service was good (a plus for a busy Saturday night) and we were pleasantly surprised when the food actually came out right (most places screw up the plain bacon burger somehow...). Great Cape Coral local tavern with a Taco Tuesday Grouper special with fries for only $11.99. Various sports banners throughout with a large dining room and small bar offering domestic and a few craft beers on tap. The server, Rachel, was energetic with a great personality. She poured us High5 Hazy beer which was cold and refreshing. The well seasoned grouper strips were fluffy and nestled inside six toasted soft tacos. The hallway leading to the gender assigned bathrooms had beer company placards affixed to the walls. The men's bathroom was clean and continued the beer theme and loved it. read more

I ordered fried chicken and the chicken was super dry and no meat I told the waitress (Mikayla) and she said that they over fry to make sure it's not raw and didn't even offer to change it we won't be coming back and it's a shame because we liked the atmosphere but the service and food is a big part and the waitress did not care enough to offer anything else. read more

I consider this our local tavern, as it is the closest to where we live. It seems to have a very popular local following. Lots of TV screens, very busy on game days. Our first visit was over a year ago when we first moved to NW Cape and tried to find new places to eat. We were pretty happy with the food, but it took over 30 minutes waiting between appetizer and entree, and water glass was never filled. We said never again. Don't get me wrong, the servers were friendly, but they seemed to forget to check on us! But we did give it a second chance, as we did like the food. We learned though, order all your food together, hope they come out fast. And more importantly, adjust our expectation as far as service goes, especially on very busy day or during peak times. That strategy seemed to work, we have been back every few months. What can I say, I really like their Ruben sandwich and the chicken wings! read more

Poor service, ambiance dark, when we were there almost half of the tables were empty yet the service was very slow

I got the Rueben & fries. The sandwich was loaded with corned beef & very tasty. Great fries too. My husband got the fried chicken, mashed potatoes & broccoli. He said everything was great as well. One issue is some of the tables are really crammed in tight. There was no way anyone could sit at the table behind my husband and the place was packed. They did have outdoor seating. Also, there was some type of meat auction to raise money for something. Made it a very, very noisy. Try to avoid eating there when there is an auction (unless you want the meat). The place is smaller than the pictures make it seem. the hamburger bun was super flat for some reason not sure why. the sweet potato fries lacked salt. the place is kind of smaller than i expected. But it seems like it attracted a happy local crowd. We sat on the outside terrace. There are smokers that go outside so be careful if you bring any kiddos. We have been going here since it first opened for the fried chicken. Once the first owners left it seems they have changed the recipe or something. The potatoes and gravy were instant potatoes and packaged gravy. They used to have good coleslaw but it seemed sour. All in all not happy with the food. Went for the usually good fried chicken. When we got it told our server Morgan b that it was over cooked and very dry. (maybe oil too hot?).She said "that's the way it comes" and walked away. She never brought the water we asked for and did not come back to check on us or ask if we wanted another cocktail. We pulled the chicken off the bone and removed the skin (we're not offered a "to go" box, so we wrapped in napkins to take home to our dogs.We were never asked if we wanted anything else and had to flag her down across the room to get our check. We are typically VERY generous tippers, and we did leave her a small tip considering maybe she was having a bad day or personal problems, but she needs some training or an attitude change if she wants to make some money. We consider this a very poor reflection on a restaurant that we frequent and usually enjoy!- and she charged us $4.99 for a side that should have been $1.99 since we ordered entrees but said she would not correct the bill/ big part of reason we deducted that amount from what would have been a $5,00 additional tip! read more

We love Burnt Store Tavern. Sometimes the food may come out a little different, but they always go out of their way to make it right. Contrary to a review left on April 24th, about Morgan is wrong. She is not like that. She is a hard worker and she always has a smile. There are times she gets so busy and she may not look happy but that's only because she is so focused on her tables, but she's always a hard worker and very pleasant. Please don't listen to that review on the 24th because it's not correct. It's like Cheers in this place and everyone who works there are always pleasant and hard working. read more

WOW! Totally unexpected! It's LOCAL...Feels LOCAL...Just what the Doctor ordered. Food? Wow! Reuben? Huge! Taste? Perfect! Size? Huge! As it should be. There were no less than five other menu items I want to try. Like fries with that? PERFECT FRIES! Want to hang out where the locals are? Burnt Store Tavern is it. EXCELLENT prices and Service and food delivery were good...not fancy...just good. Like a local would be served. If you get that. The ambiance is...yep...LOCAL. Our server Casey deserves her own statue outside. Picture this: four hangry adults, zero patience, menus longer than a CVS receipt. Casey swoops in like a superhero whose cape is made of napkins and unlimited refills. She memorized our chaotic order faster than I can remember my own Wi-Fi password. No "I'll check with the kitchen," no up-selling dessert before apps--just pure, unfiltered competence wrapped in a smile that could melt butter. 10/10, would let her babysit my kids, dog, and tax documents. The kitchen? Pure Sorcery. My grouper sandwich arrived so perfectly cooked I half-expected it to wink at me. Flaky, juicy, zero "fishy" crimes committed. The burgers were medium-well masterpieces--juicier than gossip at a PTA meeting. And the wings? Crispy outside, tender inside, sauced so expertly I considered proposing to the chef mid-bite. Beer? Served at a temperature that should be illegal in Florida. I'm convinced they keep hops in the witness-protection program inside a glacier. First time here and last time. Had the Wednesday Special Prime Rib, it was grey in color, extremely chewy, bland and barely warm, near impossible to even cut with their steak knife. Mashed potatoes tasted instant and cheap. I told waitress this was first and probably last time here and she did not care either way. Side of corn was also bland and cold Sent entire meal back.
