Burrito was ok. Taste was fine, nothing too outstanding. $27 tax incl for 2 burritos with chip combo with guacamole and drinks. It's all relative

    Naked Halibut
    Denny D.

Ordered a Naked Halibut. Looks like they gave me half of what I used to get. Made an account just to leave this review. Haven't taste it yet but you eat with you eyes first and this is disappointing already Updated: changing to 1 star, the 2 out of 4 of Halibut is 90% batter. Seems they the chefs were too lazy to make a new batch for my order.

Naked burrito with half steak and half calamari. Everything on it with medium hot sauce
    Mark D.

The naked burrito will more than satisfy your hunger. Make sure you go there with an appetite because there is only one size and it's pretty big. Rice, beans, refried beans, salad, choice of meat (I went with the half/half option and got the steak and calamari). If your getting shrimp or calamari with the half/ half option their decent size but u only get 3 of them. You almost need an extra order of shrimp or calamari. Get some extra salsa or burrito sauce. Guac extra Service was fair.

When I got to Toronto last week it was pretty late and I didn't have a lot of options for a late night meal and everyone was starving. I had a friend recommend this place and loving tacos and seeing its open late we took that drive First of all this place is awesome and it's a chain I couldn't believe it. There had to be at least 8 options on proteins to add to your bowl, tacos, burritos or nachos. And the portions are large as hell and the price unbeatable. I decided to grab tacos the pulled pork, shrimp, chicken and beef. The tacos start by being on a corn tortilla and you can add any and or all the basic toppings like cheese salads lettuce tomatoes etc. And then that protein comes in and pretty much flows out of the tortilla. I couldn't believe this quality of food was coming from a chain. Check this place out it's worth the hype

FOOD: This is probably my favourite burrito place ever so far. They have amazing burritos and quesadillas which I love. They also have vegetarian options which taste amazing!!! The soy is AMAZING!!! The burritos are full of veggies and other stuff! Delicious and spicy hot sauce they include in the burritos! STAFF: Super kind, friendly, cool. PRICE: $$$ WAIT: Can pre-order and pick up (easier) otherwise lineup depends on when you go.

Large burrito - whole wheat. Quite hefty

Good burritos at a fair value is how I would describe Burrito Boyz. I went with the large steak burrito with all the toppings. The burrito toppings were definitely fresh and tasty. There was veggies, rice, corn, beans, cheese and even guacamole (huge plus for including guacamole at no extra cost). Burrito boyz is a really good value and to be able to get a large burrito for around $10 with tax is pretty awesome. The large burrito is definitely more than enough to satisfy your hunger. I was severely disappointed with the 'steak' itself which was like ground beef (sirloin cut probably). I expected steak strips but with the price I paid I guess I should not have. The beef was pretty flavourless too. I also felt like the toppings could have been spread out more evenly, as the end I started with being considerably better than the side I ended with (all that guacamole and cheesy goodness was at the top). I also would have liked to see carnitas or even pork as a protein option. Service was a tad slower than I would have liked for 'fast food'. It took them a while to the burrito when it wasn't busy at all. I'll definitely be back as I was pretty disappointed overall with the 'steak', and I'm almost certain the other proteins are guaranteed to be better.

The last time I ate a burrito was after a Shuffle party and I was 20 something. It was the last time because I ordered it too spicy and it ruined the burrito. Too dabs of the sirracha and my stomach rebelled against me that night! This time I remembered to say "medium" lol. We ordered the small chicken and medium steak burrito with everything and a side of nachos. First thoughts: chicken was better seasoned than the steak. Good call on putting everything! I should've added more burrito sauce. That cilantro though! After thought: good call on the nachos and salsa. Should've got my own order of nachos though. Size small burrito is definitely the best size to satisfy my hunger! And satisfied is a good summary of my experience at Burrito Boyz. I remember a time when i LOVED burritos and I ate it every chance I got when I saw it on the menu. Pretty sure burritos and i have broken up now. I think I associated "oooooh let's go eat here!" Because of the memories I've had with burritos. I'm over it! Burrito Boys is good but I probably won't go back. I may consider it if I'm coming back from a late night somewhere or hangry after killing it in the gym. Happy to see it in Scarborough though! 'Bout damn time!

    Chicken quesadilla ($8.40)
    Niral P.

Tried a new item this time & that was the calamari quesadilla ($9.65). It was good, but honestly I feel like this time around it tasted less fresh & more oily. The burrito sauce wasn't that great because it only added to the spicy/oily flavour in the vegetable portion. The salsa was really refreshing though & would recommend asking for two of the salsas. It was better than the calamari burrito though, as the calamari was cut into smaller pieces and more spread out in the quesadilla!

Steak and Shrimp is bomb here and for very cheap. Great service and they're very fast. Went back here twice after that first time.

The place is a bit small so it can be a bit tight so I would highly recommend having reservations if you have a large group. Tacos: The soft and the crispy tacos were both delicious. The tinga chicken and the beef barbacoa were juicy and full of flavour. The portions was fair, the quality was a standout and tasted quite authentic. Overall, I really had a great experience at Playa Cabana, totally would come here again to try out their other dishes.

When I went to the basement washroom, I swear I saw what looked like the end of a mouse's tail sticking out from under the door. Needless to say, I completely lost my appetite. When the waiter asked how everything was, I told him honestly that it was terrible. I had only taken two bites, and there was really no response. I wouldn't have wanted a replacement anyway after that experience. I also had some fruit bites, and about 10 minutes later my stomach started gurgling. By the time I got home, I felt awful. I was shivering, felt like I was going to throw up, and had to rush to the bathroom. It honestly felt like food poisoning. And I still paid for my meal Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place.

Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Cost to worth it rating: 4 ($US 150 for a good amount of food and drinks at this caliber is a steal) Opentableable: yes but not later Return worthiness: yes Eve award: best fine dining Mexican pizza, best service I've had ever, best trio of meats I've had Highlights: - Mexican pizza (aka tlayuda toloqueña): phenomenal invention and best thing I ate the whole trip. Fresh crispy tortillas combination of so many ingredients and melded well together from green chorizo to dollops of white bean to slices of carrot. 5 stars - Pork (pork secreto al pastor): most tender pork ever! Brined then sous vide and finished grilled. Surprise onion compote was wonderful plus slices of grilled pineapple. 5 stars - Duck (dry aged Hudson Valley duck breast) : I've had HV duck many times before but this is one of the most standout duck breast I have had. Tender not gamey at all and in a lovely sauce. I love duck and cannot comprehend why this blew y mind, but I'm happy it did. 5 stars - Hanger steak (prime hanger): cooked perfectly medium rare with a creamy au poivre like sauce on top. My friend would have preferred to be asked how it was cooked and she had to stick to the end pieces to be less pink--but I loved it the way it was. 4.75 stars (wonderful but I had to separate it from the others) - Chocolate mousse (spiced Mexican Hot Chocolate): light and airy but deep in chocolate flavor with a sponge cake made with honey that mimicked honeycombs. Another surprise hit. 5 stars - Scallop ceviche (Hokkaido scallop ceviche in a leche negra sauce): tender bits of scallops with avocado in what I equate to a black taco seasoned sauce made with ground up ingredients. 4.25 stars - Sweet potato (coal roasted sweet potato): large tender pieces with char and greens around. 3.5 stars - Atmosphere: open fire everywhere with the kitchen right out there, high energy in the low almost cave - like white stone dining room which was very unique - Wine: great - Abraham: delightful, fun, and well educated waiter who answered my dorky questions about the food - Utensils for each course: loved it so there was no mystery of what you were supposed to use to keep you out of any Pretty Woman situation - Service overall: outside of the waiter, every single person was amazing. From the people presenting our dishes, to the ones constantly wiping our tables, to the individual who chatted with us as we were waiting for our friends before we left. I dine out a lot and this was top notch impeccable some of the best service I have ever had at any restaurant anywhere. I can only think of Alinea that could top it. Midlights: - Cocktails: majority are mezcal which is understandable with the cuisine and smokey theme, but I'm not a mezcal person so options were minimal Lowlights: - Creepy dark basement bathroom

My wife and I just recently completed our 4th visit to this Michelin-starred masterpiece. We did make the mistake this time of sitting at the Chef's Counter in the middle of summer with the fire grills going, but it's such an amazing experience to watch them all be pros at what they do that it makes you forget about the sweat. Sitting at the bar is also equally fun with the engaging bartenders. The service and the ambiance of the long, corridor-like place is just incredible. The darker lit atmosphere gives it a really intimate but welcoming feel. And every server or bartender or chef we've talked to there has been equally friendly, knowledgeable, and down to earth. We also absolutely love the fact that virtually everything is naturally gluten free (perfect for those with celiac!). This time around, we got the mushroom and shishito peppers (I don't even like mushrooms with the firm texture but these ones were insanely tender I would happily eat them whenever), tuna tiradito, empanada, and bone marrow and shrimp (not sure we've ever had bone marrow before or that we'd get it again, but it was definitely an interesting flavor and not a disappointment in the least). We also had a solo regular sit next to us who happily gave us a piece of his tlayuda which was maybe the best of what we got the entire night. Dessert was the coconut nicuatole, which was the perfect cherry (or pineapple) on top of another perfect dinner. In the past, we've also heavily enjoyed the scallop ceviche and coal roasted sweet potato and our friend also raved about the whole seabream. Their cocktails are also on point and the tasting menu with drink pairing is also hugely fun but come ready to leave stuffed because it's a LOT. Best restaurant ever and I can't wait to go back again!
