This place has been one of my go-to spots for tacos, and my usual order is their Mushroom, Fresh Cheese & Avocado Tacos--they never disappoint! This time, we decided to try something different and ordered the Guac & Chips and Torta Pescado Empanizado, and both were absolutely delicious. The flavours were fresh, well-balanced, and everything tasted really good. Finally found a taco place that isn't too oily for me to enjoy! We ordered ahead to bring it for a gathering. We had a gluten allergy and they kept everything separated between the gluten allergy friendly and non. I ordered a steak taco and fish taco and I loved both! Just enough stuffing, a great tortilla that doesn't just disintegrate, and a great mild salsa. The flavours were well balanced and didn't feel too heavy after dinner. Service was quick and efficient, and they seem to be quite a popular spot! Glad we found a place to get our taco fills. A good place for tacos! My sister & I were in the neighbourhood and decide to try out GUS Tacos. For the two of us we got the following: Guac & Chips The Burria Taco The Chicken Quesadilla The Chicken Taco Carne Asada Taco Overall the food was fresh & tastied good. The standouts for me was the Chicken Quesadilla & the range of salsas they gave. The service was fast. Gus Tacos (Kingston location) has never disappointed me. There was a stretch of very busy work weeks where this place honestly kept me going, it became real comfort food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is casual, friendly, and comfortable, a great spot for a quick lunch or dinner with your partner or a friend, with a real street-taco vibe indoors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My two favourites are the Carnitas and Barbacoa, both are outstanding and consistently done right. They offer three levels of hot sauce, mild, medium, and hot, which is great if you don't want something too spicy. I always mix the mild with the hot, and their hottest sauce is genuinely excellent. My partner usually orders the burrito and it's always really good, but the tacos are truly the star here. You can't go wrong with any of them, but I highly recommend the Carnitas or Barbacoa. Ordered from here twice for delivery, I loved it. The tacos had a deal on Doordash which is what prompted me to get them. The fish tacos is what I see a lot of reviews on so I had to get them, no disappointment there! The asada tacos were just okay, I was thinking they might be better if I were to eat them fresh. They really stuffed the torta, def my new favourite item. There was a lot of guacamole on it. Beans arent usually my pick for toppings but it wasnt too noticeable! Very yummy! I was excited to try this place. I heard great things about their burritos, tacos and their guacamole! I got their fish taco and it was great! The fish was crispy and the taco tasted fresh and delicious. I also got the guacamole and chips. I was so disappointed. The guacamole was okay. But what was the most disappointing for this $8 side, is that the chips were STALE. It's as if they were left out overnight and served to me. Multiple coworkers tried and agreed. A new location for a growing Mexican chain. Good to have a decent option in Scarborough. However perhaps I'm spoiled by the many times I've been to Mexico but I just can't do cartwheels about the Mexican food scene in Toronto. Most places are over priced and underwhelming in the flavour department. Gus tacos is a bit better than most but still just okay. $5 for a 3-bite taco is on the pricier side but this seems to be standard nowadays. The Asada was the standout , juicy and well seasoned. I love me a good fish taco but just disappointed that most times the fish is fried then squirted with sauce (like here). A well seasoned grilled fish with onions would be amazing and bring me back to the beach in Mexico. The menu at Gus Taco says grilled fish but it comes fried ???? Didn't realize till I got home. The mushroom taco is flavourless. I wouldn't waste your time or money on it. Very no frills, small menu. Also I note the burrito doesn't come with rice in case you were expecting that. The other local spot just further down on Kingston road, mexitaco, is good but I find their portions even smaller with a higher price tag. Gus Tacos is located near the intersection of Kingston Road and St. Clair. With its distinctive red and white exterior, it is easy to spot. Parking is limited, but changes over quickly, as the area is filled with uber drivers picking up take out, and parking spots on the side-streets vacate quickly. My son has been to Mexico city, fell in love with tortas, and is on a quest to find an authentic torta in the GTA. Gus Tacos answered the call!! We did a pick up order for 4 - beef quesadilla, barbacoa burrito, and two chicken tortas. Staff was very friendly and helpful, taking the time to make thoughtful recommendations. Everything was freshly prepared, and ready in minutes. Wow, was the price ever reasonable! Our tortas, burritos and quesadillas were packed with ingredients, not skimping on the meat (sometimes you get those bean stuffed burritos and tortas with the meat as a kind of afterthough condiment. Not Gus Tacos: here, you will get your protein fix! My son, the Torta-Quest Guy, felt that he had finally found what he needed at Gus Tacos. He pronounced this the closest in the GTA to what he had in Mexico city. Although it is a bit of a jaunt from where we live, it's worth the trek to get great tasting food at a very reasonable price. P.S. (DRTL) A note re. authenticity. No, the torta was not EXACTLY like Mexico City's but very, very close. Similarly, the recipes that I cooked when I lived in Russia taste differently when I make them exactly the same in Canada. Differences in local ingredients are at least a partial explanation for why things don't taste the same in various countries. Gus Tacos, however, is as good as it gets when it comes to an authentic Mexican sandwich experience in Toronto. This place was pretty good. I enjoyed the tacos. Yea I know it;s not the same as what I would get in LA or Mexico city, but those places aren't really convenient to get to when you live in Toronto. I'm always sus of people who are like "Oh yeah this isn't as good as the food I got in *insert far flung place here*". I mean yea, it might not be, but food is an extension of the place that it is, and comparing the food you get in Toronto to like Oaxaca is ridiculous. That being said, for a Mexican place in Scarborough, a place that had nothing close to Mexican food (I grew up with Taco Bell) until recently, is not a great comparison, and says more about the reviewer than the restaurant. Pretty decent tacos. I've only tried the beef tacos from here which are simple yet delicious. I find it to be a bit on the pricier side for tacos - $5 per taco. The hot sauce is absolutely delicious that I ended up buying a bottle to take home. I also tried horchata for the first time and I must say, I am a fan! Their chips and guac are also delicious. Service was pretty fast as well. I will definitely be making another visit in the future. read more

Once you walk in there's a bunch of room to order. There isn't that much seating though. The service was amazing, asking if everything is good and even gave extra sauces we didn't pay for. Lastly the food was amazing. Everything was amazing prices for the amount you get. I 100% recommend this spot if you're craving Tacos. read more

Was hoping it would be better. Better than mexitaco, but not amazing. I repeatedly asked for them to make the tortilla crispy as is done in most authentic taco spots but they just won't do it. Soft only. Don't understand that one. read more
