Amazingly good flautas for an incredibly reasonable price. (They have other dishes too, but that's what they are known for!) Beans and rice on the side are optional / modest extra charge - they are usually very good and worth adding if you're hungry enough. My favorite sauce is the Chipotle. It's got heat as it's also creamy...I would call it medium (I like spicy food.) If you're getting them to go, you might want the sauce and toppings on the side. They usually ask about that, but occasionally they might forget. Service is usually friendly and efficient even when they are busy. Your food is made to order, so it's fast but not instantaneous. Allow 5-10 minutes for pickup most of the time. The dining room is medium-sized. I would say it's a place to eat and go, not stay and linger. read more

Stopped at El Taquito for breakfast during our move from WA to TX, and it was such a great choice. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the whole place had that warm, local-favorite vibe. We ordered the flautas with chipotle sauce and the chilaquiles with half red and half green sauce. The chilaquiles were absolutely amazing. We added a runny egg since we couldn't do chicken, and it gave the dish extra flavor and a good boost of protein. The flautas (which I'd honestly describe more as taquitos dorados) were crunchy and tasty. We liked the chipotle sauce that came with them, but we actually loved dipping them into the chilaquile sauce even more. Heard this place was good. I get there and I am seated immediately. The waiter brought drinks quickly and took my order. The breaded steak sounded good. I ordered the Milanesa with a side of rice. The serving was large. Everything looked fresh. I was so full. Everything on that plate was excellent. Good flavor. The place was clean and the people were nice. Totally surprise myself by picking this for the team! We wanted breakfast but not my team's choice so I'm happy this one turned out great! This is a great find and I would definitely recommend going here! First time I've had a Torta and I liked it alot! That will be my option to try at future restaurants. This place a is truly a gem in El Paso and the food and staff was amazing. It's a small little shop but big on friendliness, cleanness, and amazing taste on the food. I ordered the huevos a la mexicana with some steak and potatoes and it was one of the best foods I had in El Paso. The food portions were very generous and I also ordered some avocado with my food and unlike most places I got more than 3 slices of it for a very good price. I would recommend this place for anybody wanted to get some good Mexican breakfast. I will need to go back to try their lunch menu. I also want to note this seems to be a family owned business with a lot of history and the staff all seem to work great together and I believe that is why they are also very successful and hope it stays that way. Having never seen the menu at El Taquito before, I had hoped to have enchiladas and was disappointed to learn that they do not have them. Natalie gave the suggestion of chilaquilles as a similar flavor option. I ordered them along with chips with guacamole (made to order) and salsa. Natalie cautioned me in the heat of the fresh out of the oil chips as she placed them and the guacamole and salsa on my table. Oh they were yum! This place never disappoints. It's repeatedly rated high by locals for very simple reasons: good service, great prices, homey ambiance, and deliciousfood. You won't get closer to Mexican homecooking than this place. The three of us had coffee, breakfast and their chips, salsa, guacamole appetizer for $39. I only wish that their location was easier to get to. It's a bit hidden behind a laundromat with a small parking area tucked away. In El Paso for the week and decided to have lunch at El Taquito. In my humble opinion , some of the best food either comes from food trucks or small mom & pop restaurant's like El Taquito. There is absolutely nothing flashy or fancy about this restaurant but the food is most definitely on point, which is the main reason in going to a restaurant, right? I ordered the Verde plate, which consisted of shredded beef and potatoes is chile verde sauce. This plate also comes with rice, beans and your choice of flour or corn tortillas. PERFECTION ON A PLATE! This dish reminded me of a similar dish my Nana used to make! My server was amazing! She was friendly and attentive. My food was delivered to my table pretty quickly after I ordered and was piping hot. This restaurant is also VERY easy on the wallet. So I'm in for a few days and wanted to get some breakfast tacos. When I arrived I saw that the place was packed and only open till 3pm. I was thinking this can go one of 2 ways, either really good or really, really bad. My buddy and I decided to give it a try. The parking was totally packed, so we parked across the street. We walked it and didn't have to wait long. I ordered the Texicana and Barbacoa tacos, and my buddy ordered the Red plate. Service was great the waiter came around multiple times to check in us and was very attentive. All the food seemed to be made fresh. Guacamole and salsa were great!. This place was great! We're on a roadtrip so we stopped in for some food to go. We got there 5-10 minutes before they closed and they were so helpful and accommodating! I'm vegetarian and they helped describe everything that I could eat. I ended up getting vegetarian tacos and they were amazing. We ordered a potato, egg, chorizo, and avocado burrito breakfast burrito and a breakfast plate, and both were incredible. They both totally hit the spot. The breakfast plate came with a side of refried beans which I'm not usually a fan of, but theirs were surprisingly good and really added to the meal. The real standout was the mango smoothie it was to die for, especially on a hot day! It really is a must to complement the meal.
