A friend recommended this place for dinner. This is a neighborhood taqueria with cozy dining area. Upon entering, a friendly staff greeted us and asked if we were ordering takeout out or dining in. We could choose our table since it was not busy. The price was affordable with generous portion. The food was flavorful. There were a few people came in to pick up their order. I live 5 mins from this place , ordered the lomo burrito , it was cold , only thing in it was lettuce ,sour cream , and a couple small pieces of steak , no beans , rice or anything . And to top it off it shows $8 for this burrito , ordered two . Total was $29 ??? Def won't be going back here !! read more

It was a very comfortable place to eat traditional Mexican food. I would highly recommend this as a local, traditional Mexican restaurant.

Recently opened - your average Mexican take-out place. They do have a few tables so you can eat there as well. We called ahead for pickup last night to give them a try and the food was ready in 10 minutes. We tried the nachos with chicken, a chorizo gordita & a dinner dish called "Alambre con Queso" - which was steak with bacon, green peppers, onions and cheese - very good & the steak was perfectly seasoned and tender. The dinner came with beans and rice which were decent, and also tortillas. The menu did not say it came with tortillas but it makes sense that it would. Since I didn't know it was included they gave me corn tortillas so if you prefer flour you will want to specify. The nachos and gordita were also good. Prices were in line with other local Mexican take-out places. If you are familiar with the small shopping center at the corner of Chicago St (Irving Park) & Shales - this place is located in the spot that previously housed two different, short-lived, pizza places. I don't write reviews often, but my experience here warranted it. I almost did not choose this place due to the 3.5 star rating. I just had the tacos (Ribeye, steak, pastor), but they were some of the best tacos I have ever tried. I have had tacos from Tijuana, Cancun, Tulum, and other places in Mexico, and the tacos I had here hold up and are absolutely authentic. This restaurants rating is certainly misleading, dont be fooled folks. read more

Stopped here for lunch with my sister and her husband. Very authentic place. Lunch time saw a fair amount of hispanic patrons which was a good sign. The salsa that came with the chips has some depth and thought given when constructed. Nice! Had the pastor tacos very flavorful with cilantro and nice tortillas. Very modestly priced. Excellent taste and large portions for the price. Sister and hubby enjoyed their lunches. Service was good. Place was decorated rather plainly but that doesn't mean anything. The clincher was the horchata. Just right, no chalky taste, not too much cinnamon or rice taste, slightly thin. Very authentic. Worth ur stop. read more

Picked up a couple taco dinners was told the total when ordered over phone , then when I went there to pick up I asked the total again was told the same total. I was handed the receipt and signed not thinking I was going to be charged more. I got home to realize I was charged $3 extra. Might not be much to some but I felt deceived! This was my first and last time I will be going there. Also the food was super dry and very small portions for the price. After relocating to the area we were looking for some traditional Mexican food. This restaurant hit the spot for a local dine-in. The food was fresh, homemade, and tasty. We came for breakfast and another visit for lunch. It's a great local spot and the service was pleasant and helpful. You can't go wrong with the Chorizo and eggs for breakfast or try the Huevos Rancheros...The Bistec a la Mexicana was flavorful and the sopes were delicious. Terrible tacos . They don't care at all about the quality of the food. I did a take out order. My chicken tacos were dry, stale and from at least a day or two ago - over cooked and microwaved. Yuck - just terrible - never going back there ever. Cilantro on 58 is way way way better. I threw most of it away - a complete waste of hard earned money. Sad that these folks are still in business. The food is excellent here, however the hours are terrible. I've never seen a Mexican restaurant that is closed at 9pm.
