We enjoyed the pork burrito, bean and cheese (kiddos) burrito, and the chicken bowl. Having tried this every 6 months, it seems they have improved the food quality over time so I'm updating my rating. Fresh ingredients, convenient ordering tablet at centrally located downtown corner, and normally friendly service. Sometimes a bit too rice heavy and salsa light, which interferes with the great pork flavor, so I find it best to add extra salsa (at home) to each bite. Nice to go option! And they participate in the Rogue 2 Go reusable containers program. read more

Understaffed with a grumpy worker. Greeted all customers with "we are out of mango salsa." She was wearing gloves/touching and talking on phone/making burrito all at the same time. Ordered pick up online and wait time was still astronomical. Lettuce had a bit of a rotting stench. Really wanted this to become my local spot. Though I'm sure the quality may have been good, the food didn't taste fresh and be to be frank, didn't taste good. We couldn'y get through the burrito we had ordered just because it was gross. I do not give five stars on the first visit, everything was delicious, fresh, generous portions. Walk up to the kiosk to place your customized order. Swipe your card, done! No cash transactions. Covid safe. Friendly service, your burritos are made to order. Food: Verde Pork burrito- packed with black beans, cheeses, hot salsa Mach's, cilantro & sour cream plus fresh Jalapeño. Pork was tasty. Good, very filling. My only con: it was a little too dry, I will ask for more sauce. Veggie burrito-veggies were cooked to perfection, not soggy! The combination of the rice, refried beans, veggies, cheese & pico de gallo made for a filling, tasty meal. The size was enough for two meals. Sides- smashed guacamole is a must! Fresh avocados delicious! Rice had good texture, not over spicy, another must. Chips- excellently cooked! Crispy, not greasy, the make their own, a must! Con alert: the bag of chips was a half bag. Next time I will order two bags Overall, Burrito Republic is a winner. It is only a walk up window, making it Covid friendly, they are doing it right. Look I may be a little biased when I say this since I'm coming from Southern California where the Mexican food amazing and authentic. The food here is not bad but it is not Mexican food. The hot sauces are fermented chili oil based. This is more of a Thai or even Chinese style sauce. This may be fine if the restaurant was going for a "fusion" style approach to Mexican but this is not what is promoted. The check in system seems unnecessary and created a very impersonal experience. The guy just waited for me to touch the screen a bunch of times and then he got to work after I finished my order. Overall this was an inauthentic and unfriendly experience. read more

Burrito Republic is a great addition to the food scene in downtown Ashland. Deciding to open a place in the midst of a nationwide pandemic is no easy feat, but they're doing it well! This is a small, hole-in-the-wall walk up window, where you create your customized order via a menu screen. Much like Falafel Republic, owned by the same folks, you can go the route of burrito, salad, or bowl, customizing what goes into each option. I've only tried the burritos (both the chili relleno and adobo chicken). All the burritos clearly come with spiced long grain rice, pepitas (pumpkin seeds), shredded cabbage and cheese. You can specify what types of cheese you want, whether or not you want certain ingredients (like the pepitas or cabbage), 1-2 salsas, the types of beans you want (if any), sauces, and additional ingredients that may or may not cost extra. The flavors are spot-on and delicious. Certain ingredients (like double protein, chili relleno, avocado, etc.) cost a little extra, but everything is upfront as you are ordering. The owners and folks working here obviously care about putting out a quality meal. The prices are fair for what you are getting (both in the amount of food and the quality of the food). I absolutely LOVE the person who packed our to-go food in it's little to-go food bag. Seriously, y'all lined our stuff up SO satisfyingly and orderly. Idk, if you get it you get it. The staff there is always so nice, it's definitely a creative interpretation of Mexican food but I don't understand the 2.9 stars at all! Maybe it'll keep the line down tho read more

If you want a big *as burrito you gotta go here. For the price and taste it's pretty good. They also have pretty good chips to help scope up foods if you like that. I have found that some dishes can be a little wetter then others so be mindful of that. But everything's pretty good here and you won't be disappointed read more

Really good to go place in the middle of Ashland...opened mid pandemic. Great Chile relleno burrito and a wonderful staff. (I do have to say that customer service is amazing in Ashland. In 11 months I have only dealt with one unpleasant worker ..) I really debated whether I was going to write this review due to how disappointed I am, but I felt it was needed. We tried Burrito Republic last week on Tuesday, 6/7, after one of our coworkers said it was a pretty good place. Me and my coworkers ordered three burritos and a salad. Two of the burritos had a chemical like smell as if the surface they were assembled on was cleaned with bleach or something of that nature. The smell was so off-putting that it made the burritos totally inedible. A couple of bites and in the trash they went. All of the burritos were cold and had soggy tortillas, and really lacked any flavor. The salad was mushy and the mango salsa tasted old. The third burrito and the salad were both only half eaten and tossed out as well. We all agreed that everything was just underwhelming and off-putting. Now someone may say why didn't we return the food or call and complain. Well, as healthcare workers we get a very short lunch break, thus we don't have time to do that. Really disappointed as we really wanted to like this place. But unfortunately with the price of the food, tax, and tip we wasted $50. Don't think we'll be trying Burrito Republic again. read more

Friendly staff but this has to be the worst burrito in the valley. I have tried it four times now with different combos, trying to get something that isn't a mushy leaky mess, but every burrito has me feeling regret by the halfway mark. They have a cool menu ordering system - a screen on the counter where you interactively place your order. Very efficient and simple to use. Note that it's a small hole-in-the-wall and easy to miss. A good place for things burrito-y, and a great place to get a good value on the Plaza. At first glance, the prices seem high, but my companion and I both took to-go boxes for the other half of our meals. College kids roaming the plaza for good eats would do well here. The wait-time is a little much, and time is spent on the sidewalk, flipping nickels for bets while leaning on the lamppost. Overall though, worth the wait. Add your nickels to the tip. read more

Burrito Republic used to be the go-to place in town for great burritos. The success of a business relies on it being consistently good. The last 2 times I went there, the food was hastily prepared and just was not good (burritos). Before that the many times I had gone there, the food had been excellent. I'd like to ask whoever manages the place to please take care to keep the standards high for every single customer and that every food item that goes out meets your own quality standards. I came out here to check if others were experiencing the same drop in quality in food and service. I was sad to see that recent comments reflect the same thing that I have recently experienced. I'm not sure what is happening - if it is worker turnover or what - but you have a gem of a business there which once had great food, great location and friendly employees. Being downtown, word of mouth is just as much a part of your business marketing with tourists and visitors asking where they could get a good lunch. You folks want and need to be a favorite in the area. Please adjust your business back to the high standards it was in the past - the food does the talking and if it is top quality, your business will boom. As of now, I see a lot of discouraging comments and must add mine as well. I will try again and hope that things have returned to the high standards you once held. Honestly I was pleasantly surprised by the burrito itself. I was not looking forward to a burrito that came with at least 3 ingredients I would never dream of putting in a burrito, especially since there's no real way to edit your order since they use this little tech screen gadget thing instead of taking your order themselves. But it turned out great and 2/3 ingredients mentioned I'm pretty sure weren't even in the burrito to begin with. But that's beside the point. I went there with my bf on a freezing day where most average people waiting for food here have somewhere warm and dry to go and eat it. We ordered similar-ish meals with three should-be noticeable differences: one had beans and the other had double meat with mango salsa. Or at least should have had. Our order number is called about 20 minutes later and the guy working there lost his marker so can't differentiate which burrito is which. He tells us A is double meat, B is regular meat and hands is the respective burritos. We get back to the car ready to dig in and neither one of us can tell what it is we're eating. We can't find any noticeable flavor differences or anything. Neither one seems to have extra meat or any of the additional differences we had specified, including one having cilantro and the other having fresh jalapeños. Both arguably noticeable flavors, yet neither burrito has either of them. About halfway through my burrito, I get a mouthful of beans and I realize we've been eating the wrong burritos this whole time. So we swap and frankly mine (my actual burrito) was delicious (albeit quite messy). When we placed our orders we also had ordered two cokes and wanted churros (advertised on their online menu). No churros or other dessert anywhere to be ordered and as the employee is handing us our food, he remembers we had also ordered coke. So he goes to the fridge and realizes it's empty, he's out of cokes. Then he looks around and realizes he's got a ton on a shelf in the back but they're lukewarm. I guess they don't offer cups with ice because our options were either lukewarm bottled soda or a refund. Overall, I might consider coming back because all things considered I did actually like my burrito better than pretty much every other Mexican (or wannabe Mexican) restaurant I've been to in southern Oregon. However, there was only one guy working with a consistent line of customers and it was disorganized as all heck, plus we didn't even get what we actually ordered. It can't possibly be that hard to just look at the ticket and put the listed ingredients in the tortilla..? 4 stars for the decent burrito, 3/5 stars for the overall experience due to the poor service considering the $25 it cost us, tip not included. read more

Tried this place for first time. If I could give this place 0 starts I would. Not friendly service at window. Ordered a pork burrito with pinto beans etc. What i received was a soggy mess. Tortilla was wet and soggy on the outside and was filled with too much liquid from the salsa. In addition the paper around the burrito was soggy. Not much pork and could not find any pinto beans. A big disappointment, rip-off, and a waste of nearly $10. Will not return. If I was you, I would find a better place and save your money! read more

I'm surprised there aren't more reviews. This place is new, in the little spot that sold popcorn then coffee a few years back by the downtown Martollis. I tried it when they first opened and loved my verde pork burrito! The owner was running the window then. Great burrito and service. There's some new servers now and service is hit or miss. They've got a girl running the front sometimes. I ordered a verde pork burrito, add avo, no cabbage...there was no avocado anywhere and lots of cabbage. When I complained she basically told me she couldn't do anything. So I paid for a burrito I didn't want to eat. Sometimes there's a dude working in the back other than the boss. He was sloppy and unkempt the couple times I've been back here. Unfortunate. Because the food is pretty epic otherwise. Just need new staff for such a small joint. read more

However I am pretty disappointed for there was not a lot of options to choose from and my burrito was not made very well for the rice wasn't even cooked all the way and some of the tortilla was missing? I ordered this afternoon as I was walking by, from Burrrito Republic. When I got home I saw my chips and salsa was not in my bag and I was given a pork burrito. Which made me very upset as I do not eat pork. I had order a chicken burrito not pork. I don't think I will place an order with this restaurant in the future not will I recommend it. I've only ever had one burrito from here and I thought it was a pile of flavorless glop, but my husband likes them so I decided to grab him a burrito on the way home from work. First of all the guy "working" is an absolute jerk. Rude dismissive and 100% no help at all. The stupid touch screen wasn't working properly ( which is a waste of time ) the employee is just standing there watching me use it instead of just asking what I would like. I asked if they offered any beef and he said no. So I said ok then I'll get carnitas. He says to me, "that's pork" and I wanted to say no sh** but I restrained myself. Anyway, sadly when I brought it home my husband said oh yeah I meant to tell you I'm never going there again the kid that works there is an a** h***. So clearly we both had the same guy "help" us. Never again. Great idea, oh so very poorly executed. I'll just keep going to the taco truck in Talent - right off of exit 21 - amazing service delicious authentic food. read more
