This review is about the food... So yeah you have Alchemy connected to it and it's always very good. This isn't about Alchemy. This is about the FREE breakfast you get when you stay a night at the Winchester Inn. The spousal unit and myself often stay at hotels to get away from our kids at home. They are both over 18 so we just want to get away. The included breakfast is always decent. But they just changed it up and it was especially good this morning. Panko crusted poached eggs and thick bacon. My wife had the French mushroom omelet. Oh man it was all soo good.

This is our second time staying at the Winchester. The first time was over a decade ago. The Inn is very close to downtown Ashland and within walking distance to the theaters as well as shops and Lithia park. The rooms are very nice with nice bedding. We stayed in the Peter Benjamin room this time which featured a king size bed and a pull out couch. The bathroom was a standard bathroom with a regular sized tub. The hairdryer was probably the cheapest hairdryer one can find, but it did the trick. The very best thing about the Winchester is the breakfast. It is a two course breakfast with coffee and or juice. The first course is typically some sort of pastry and for the second you get your choice of there main options, or oatmeal or two eggs Any style with sausage or bacon and toast. DELICIOUS. Overall it is a very lovely place and I would highly recommend!

Their Jasmine green tea! We didn't taste the jasmine, but the package was so cute, and it tasted great nevertheless!

We randomly decided to hit the road and go on a trip to Oregon. I was lucky to find this place online and reserved "Queen Anne" room in the last minute. Everything was great. We loved the old home vibe. The staff were incredibly nice, and it was super clean. They were generous with supplies. I always have to pack my shampoo because there's never enough in those little bottles that other places just put for you, and I hate those small soap bars, but it wasn't the case at Winchester Inn! They had really good quality hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. Also, they are very creative and caring. They had printed a welcome card with our names on it that was next to a beautiful small jar of flowers and a cute little bell jar with delicious cupcakes for each of us. Their shower was awesome. SInce it was a historical place, I expected some issues with getting hot water and the water pressure, but no! Quite the contrary! Also, I was pleasantly surprised by how clean they were given it was an old property. The beds, pillows and mattresses were very comfy. I wish I had checked the brand of their pillows! I wanted to get some for ourselves! But I forgot! They also give you complementary breakfast, which we didn't expect, and it's great. Make sure you try their home made scones and freshly squeezed orange juice! Also, we bought a few pieces of jewelry from where the front desk is. The prices were very reasonable and to make it even better, they were on sale. When we said our goodbyes and checked out, one of the ladies asked me if I needed anything for the road and brought me a cup of coffee. This was the sweetest Inn place I've been to when traveling. I'm definitely coming back.

We have been here three nights in The Courtyard Suite traveling with our daughter and in town visiting our other daughter and sightseeing. The room is beautiful with a queen bed and a sleeper love-seat that they make-up for us daily with a very comfortable air mattress. I love the air conditioning, which is quiet and gets the room cool in a hurry. We also have a nice minibar area with a sink and fridge. A real coffee pot and fresh ground coffee are thoughtful touches too. The grounds are lovely and we are a 5 minute walk to the plays. Breakfast is perfect and we have been able to include our daughter who is not staying here, which is very convenient. My only negative would be in the bathroom where they jammed a huge jacuzzi tub and left room for a just tiny shower. We would definitely stay here again.

So incredible for the holidays! This cozy bed and breakfast is decked out in lights and Christmas spirit! Caroling at dinner time & a complimentary two corse breakfast makes it even better! The staff is inviting and the room is snuggly! And the bed sheets are hands down the softest thing you've ever slept in!!! If you're checking in around dinner time it's a bit hard to find since you have to walk through the dinning room to get to the desk, you feel a bit intrusive... but the staff are incredibly welcoming! Plus you're walking distance from shops and restaurants! A+ stay. Entirely worth the money!

We stayed here the first night of our honeymoon and it was wonderful. They upgraded us to the courtyard suite and had a bottle of bubbly waiting for us on them. Our suite was so beautiful with a private entrance through the garden. Their was even a huge bathtub with jets and candles aligning the tub. The best part was the ridiculously soft robes and the incredibly soft sheets. They even sell them...they are that good. Our breakfast the next morning was delicious. Great presentation and flavor. I will need to come back to have dinner, the kitchen was closed when we were their. Would highly recommend. We walked to everything.

    Dessert; yum and double yum.

I honestly cannot understand how the ratings can be so high…read more I did not enjoy this experience AT ALL. As an another reviewer opined just six days ago--- it was-- "disgusting." I find it really interesting that there seems to be some sort of public consensus to not rate this place honestly. Do I have to fear the wrath of the owner or the Oregon Hippie Community or something? Well, bring it on. I had been looking forward to visiting Jackson Wellsprings for YEARS, having first read about it in the book Thru Hiking Will Break Your Heart. My cousin and I had reservations this summer, but we ended up canceling most of our trip. Now I know that she did not miss out. I arrived on New Year's Eve, after having called first to make sure tent camping would be allowed. The woman at the front desk who checked me in was very friendly and polite, and could not speak highly enough about the place. After paying $25 to camp in the meadow, I could use the rest of the facilities for an additional $10. Generally speaking, $25 is cheap to camp, especially for someone with less experience on where you can camp for free, or how to get the kinds of massive discounts I usually get. But $25 is a lot to put up a tent on a communal noisy, tobacco filled lawn. I would note that sharing a group site at camp 4 in Yosemite is actually more glamorous for only $10/person. I'm not sure why Jackson Wellsprings feels that sleeping on their lawn is worth so much. The bathroom was so terrible that I did everything I could to avoid using it. There was literally five inches of space between the toilet seat and door, creating an impossible situation for any female who is larger than Twinkie. I literally was not able to shut the door while using the toilet without risking the fact that my pants would wipe the entire underside of the toilet clean of its ample soil. None of the restroom water was filtered in any way. The water that I used to wash my hands stunk like sulfur until I was able to take a shower somewhere else the next day. The spa shower was the same way. The water smelled so bad, it made me really uncomfortable. I felt like I was bathing in sewage. As a nursing school dropout, before dropping out, I got the highest grade in my microbiology class at Sac State. In this class, we learned to identify several pathogens by smell alone. I've also worked in volcanic environments and am familiar with how hot springs normally smell gassy. But this place just smelled bad. Bad bad bad. Like a literal toilet and like bad bacteria. For the public soak rate of $10-15, you get access to ONLY ONE COMMUNAL HOT SPRING which is set up like a hot tub and does not feel "natural" at all. This one pool had a lot of visible dirt and sediment floating in the water. It smelled like human chicken broth. An old rich lady and her autistic grandson were loudly gossiping about how fat everyone else looked. The fancier springs pictured on the internet cost about $85/hour to rent, and even if I had the money and audacity to do this, I would not do so based on the lack of cleanliness in the public facilities. The bathrooms were not clean, and in fact, everything was so dirty and gross that I'm confused by the more positive reviews. I felt itchy, smelly, and stuffed up until I was able to get to the nearest state park for a proper shower in clean water. When I got out of the shower and smelled the clothes that had been on my body, I understood why I'd overheard a Walmart associate gossip to her peers in Spanish (a few hours earlier) that "that white girl stinks." Even after doing laundry, my swimsuit still smells like a literal pile of garbage. This might have actually ruined my swimsuit. I would never do this again and I definitely don't recommend it.

We showed up at 5 and were greeted by the same fabulous woman as last time. You just know that someone that kind and welcoming would not own a place she wasn't rightfully proud of. She sets the tone and all the employees carry it through the entire meal. We chose to try the patio tonight and it was cozy yet open, darker with a couple of fire lights around the room. Intimate. Some of the tables are separated by live plants in planter boxes. We loved it. We started with the beets (with shaved fennel pieces and a citrus vinaigrette with a tahini yogurt sauce on the bottom) and burrata (with grilled pieces of bread and sugar snap peas and capers) appetizers - both were delicious. Randy wanted to try another of their off menu drinks. We can't remember what this drink is called but it's not on the menu and has some Mai tai mix and orange bitters ... like a mock Mai tai spritzer. Delicious - Randy had two! I got the mushroom bolognese - so good. It's home made (!) bucatini pasta with a mushroom (cremini, oyster and shiitake) and san Marzano tomato sauce with burrata on top. I love mushrooms but Randy does not and he loved this dish. The mushrooms taste meaty. Randy ordered the Carbonara again and it was also delicious. We also got an order of garlic bread this time and wow. We each have half of our dinners left, lucky us. We shared the creme brûlée which came with a lavender short bread cookie. Perfect. Everything was perfect. The place was packed and all employees were calm and efficient and friendly. Can't wait to go back!

This hidden gem is beautifully perched on a 31 acre estate vineyard with plenty of parking. It boasts sweeping views of Ashland, plus the surrounding mountains and valley are always breathtaking. Upon entry, a welcoming host lead us to our table, where I found myself captivated by the intimate, "al fresco" setting and jazzy live music playing, as we took our seats on the terrace. Overlooking their cultivated, extraordinary grapevines in the distance, we learned they've been growing them for almost 20 years now and their wine operation has been producing classic vintages that encapsulate French, Italian and Spanish heritages for almost as long. The main, multi-story building and climate controlled barrel cellar resembles an Italian basilica, complete with Campanile tower, gracious decks, balconies and an artistic Galleria that looks into the immaculate tank room. As we settled in, we were excited to begin the experience of tasting their food and pairing it with some great estate wines. The gourmet restaurant offers an elegant fusion of world-class wines and seasonal cuisine, creating a truly unforgettable culinary journey. Under the guidance of Head Chef Alfredo Nava, his kitchen brigade takes pride in sourcing the freshest, locally grown vegetables, fungi and fruits from the Rogue Valley. This important detail was refreshing to hear, when considering the current standard for many restaurants is sourcing ingredients through Sysco or other broadline food distributors. Belle Fiore's menu is appropriately condensed to two pages, but offers something for everybody. From appetizers, a house-made pasta special, flatbreads, salads, mains, a vegetarian (GF) option and daily desserts made from scratch, I think you'll find a satisfying choice. For our meal, we chose the bruschetta on a fresh baguette to begin, with a flight of refreshing whites. Then our mains arrived in timely fashion by our attentive server and I was happy to see well plated dishes coming out hot from the kitchen. Colorful, generous and composed, all looking very appetizing as set gently before us. I had the pork porterhouse, pan-seared and roasted, then topped with preserved cherries over a layered slab of potatoes "au gratin", with steamed garden vegetables on the side. The 1" thick cut was perfectly cooked (not dry at all) and was as juicy as the tart cherries that balanced the rich meat well on the palate. Wifey had the filet of beef and happily shared a few bites with me. Honestly, it was the best entree of the night and the finest steak I have tasted in years. The tender filet was rare-mid-rare with a caramelized crust, topped with Rogue Creamery blue cheese crumbles for a little funk. Plated with roasted potatoes, steamed asparagus spears and sautéed wild mushrooms in a delicious demi-glacé, fortified with deep wine notes. I would go back tomorrow just for that dish. Both of our mains were paired with a flight of robust and jammy estate reds. Even though we were pleasantly stuffed, we had to try their cheesecake croissant dessert, just because it sounded interesting from the server's description. The beautiful slice arrived with macerated berries and a big scoop of pecan ice cream on the side. Unfortunately, I thought it could have been better (we make killer cheesecakes at home) and suspect it had been in the fridge for too long. Even though the flavors were sweet, bright and creamy, the texture suffered from being too dense and doughy. That said, we left for home without any complaints and felt amply served on a gorgeous evening out together. Thus I'm leaving this as a 5-star review. The fine flavors were there, the wine complement each dish and the value seemed properly measured. I would say it's well worth the drive from anywhere in the valley. Truth...

There was NO SAFETY ISSUE in this lot with backing up into your spot, the City of Ashland literally preys on visitors who don't know and miss the tiny sign that says "Head in parking only" since it doesn't make any sense and they use that as a way to just make profits for the city.
