Well this was pleasant surprise, I kept my expectations low when the wife and I decided to come here for lunch, it has a fast food feel without the personality of a Amy's but.... Head and shoulders above Amy's, better selection of sauces, fresher, more flavorful. Just an all around better experience. WELL DONE BS! (ha ha BS) PS Wish you did have more ambiance personality

This is my first time trying Burrito Shak at the new monkey junction location. It's located in the Harris Teeter plaza next to Edward Jones. Placing your order is like Moe's Southwest grill and Chipotle. The staff prepare your order right on the spot in front of you. They have pre-selected menu items but you can request to customize your order. They offer burritos, bowls, nachos, tacos, quesadillas, salad, chips with either salsa, guacamole, or queso, and a kid friendly menu. The burritos, bowls, tacos, and quesadillas all come with chips and salsa. Salsa offerings are either mild poblano, medium Chipotle, medium verde, or hot habanero. Protein offerings are either house-spiced chicken, roasted pulled pork, seasoned ground beef, tofu, carne asada for additional $0.50 or a battered Atlantic cod for an additional $0.50. I was disappointed the tofu is not marinated or seasoned/baked. It's just plain tofu. Tofu tastes way better when is marinated or cooked with seasonings. So I chose the seasoned ground beef instead for the S-Turn burrito ($7.99). The S-Turn burrito comes with plain rice, beans (choice of pinto or black beans), roasted poblano crema, roasted peppers and onions, queso, and lettuce. The burrito was about 6in long, 3in wide, 2in deep. It was very filling. The burrito was good, but not out of this world. The seasoned ground beef was a taco seasoning base and the flavor was overpowering over the other ingredients in the burrito. I wished I could have tasted more of the poblano crema and I wished it had more roasted peppers and onions. I wouldn't mind coming back to try some of their other offerings and other protein choices. This is a good place if you're hankering for Americanized Mexican food.

Very clean! Observing safety measures. Feels like a Moe's or Chipotle but with an interesting twist and much wider choices. Friendly staff.

First off, I really like the people working here. I've been going here for 15+ years and I know…read moreover 20 people who enjoy eating here on my recommendation and that makes me happy because the food is good. I hope this review will be seen by management and have a positive outcome for the future. I door dash once a month and the last 4 times have been disappointing. My bolillo is always burned, I don't mean toasted I mean blackened, inedible. Last time, the tortillas were hard as a rock...I live three blocks away and that's how the tacos arrived. Today I ordered a torta and tacos and there was no salsa, cilantro, onions included...third time that's happened. I've never left a complaint review and I feel terrible but I love this place and just hoping they fix these things. If I could go there myself and avoid these issues, I would, because eating there has always been great! Take out is dismal.

Definitely one of the best spots in Wilmington for authentic Mexican cuisine. The staff is friendly…read moreand super fast. You order at the front and choose your seating and they bring it out to you and it's always been less than 5-10 min wait for us. They also have a topping and salsa bar so everything's customizable. The prices are also super affordable. They have indoor and outdoor seating options and table and booth options. Very cozy atmosphere. Even though you don't have traditional waiters the staff still comes to check on you and make sure you're enjoying your food. They also have a little bar area. There are three locations in Wilmington total and also a grocery store of the same name. They have been serving our community for almost 20 years. 100% a must try Wilmington staple.

A great spot for Mexican/Asian fusion! Very diverse food options including vegetarian and vegan…read moreoptions. It's in the cargo district so well connected to other food and drink options as well. I ordered the brussel sprouts tacos with a side of fries. The food was made fresh and was very delicious. The brussel sprouts were well seasoned and cooked but not overdone. The tacos were generously filled and topped with cashew crema. The fries were hot and crispy. It was also a large serving so more for sharing with others. Service was great as well as they ensured the food was brought out to us once ready. Plenty of outdoor seating and parking near the restaurant.

I ended up getting the smash burger which tasted very fresh and had a delicious sauce as an added bonus. I also had the opportunity to try the Brussel sprouts which I would highly recommend! The person at the register was very friendly and the food came out quickly from the bar area. They had seating in the actual restaurant, but we opted to sit in the open seating area just outside which housed multiple TV screens and the bar for ease of access to entertainment. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a quick bite to eat or to sit and catch up with friends.
