We were famished after getting in from our flight and in need of some quick food that we could count on being good. Enter Burrito Social, which was walking distance from our AirBnB. We came in in between lunch and dinner so it was just us and we sat outside on their patio. They give you chips and this lovely salsa, which was absolutely delightful. I decided to have their pineapple margarita bc vacation, and I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't expected to be blown away but it was indeed a very good margarita. Then for our meals we obviously got burritos. I got the barbacoa burrito and my partner got the chicken burrito. These are hefty burritos that have the usual fixings of a burrito inside plus french fries. What a nice add. We both really enjoyed our burritos and had leftovers to take back and enjoy later. Walked a mile to this place and it was great! No wait, friendly staff, and Fabiola was excellent! We got the carne asada tacos, shrimp quesadilla, birria tacos and chicken tenders and fries. Burrito Social is such a gem! We stopped in on a quiet Sunday and met one of the friendliest bartenders on our trip. He shared recommendations, checked on us often and was such a fun guy to chat with. We knew the food wouldn't disappoint (thank you, Yelp) and true to form, it didn't. I ordered Cabo style grilled shrimp tacos and my guy ordered a massive Cali style burrito. Fresh ingredients make all the difference and when you're in the Caribbean, it's easy to taste the difference. Our margaritas were great - and if you're a spicy fan, order it. Nope, it's not on the menu, but they can make it! Even the chips and rich tomato based in house made salsa was great. In condado on business for 2 weeks. Visited BS with co workers for lunch. Ordered tacos. No complaints. Came again later in the week solo and service was like night and day. Ordered food and was not given any chips and salsa as before when with my co worker. A couple sat down at the table beside me and the received chips n salsa upon arrival. Really?!?!! First time in Puerto Rico and was there for a bachelors party. We needed something heavy but tasty for lunch since some of us were still not feeling great and some of us had already gotten at it. Lucky for us we found Burrito Social. They had clearly just opened since only the staff was inside but they quickly seated us. I started off with a Margarita since I knew it had to be good at a place called Burrito Social and what to do know it was. I will say this place has a very large menu. A number of different tacos (like 12+), bowls, quesadillas, and of course burritos. I had to go for the Cali-Style Burrito since it was there "unofficial" house burrito but we all know what that means. This monster comes with fries, pico, salsa, sour cream, cheese, more cheese, guacamole, and bacon with your choice of protein. I of course made it steak for $15.99. You can also get it wet for $4.50. Now I didn't know what the means but I went for it anyway. It didn't take too long for our food to come out an wow mine looked amazing and I quickly got into it. I'm not gonna lie there was some but in this burrito I wasn't also sure what was in each bite but it did taste good and it was filling. Really had to push my self to even finish half of it. Lucky our very friendly waiter got my a box. This place is a little on the pricier side but if you're looking for some good food this is the place to come. read more

Came here for my last dinner in Puetro Rico and it was super yummy! I started off with a margarita of course and it was delicious, I ordered the coconut flavor. The menu states that they charge for chips and salsa, but myself, and everyone else at the bar was given them complimentary which was nice. For my entree, I ordered the steak social bowl and it was very tasty with a generous portion of steak. It tasted pretty similar to a bowl at chipotle. Prices were affordable and service was very attentive. For my second drink I ordered a jalapeno margarita - which is one of my favorite drinks. However, this one was spicier than any other I've tried and it was difficult for me to finish. The women's bathroom was also out of order during my visit. My family and I loved our meals at Burrito Social! Over a 4-day trip, we ate here three times, once in person and two times for takeout. We ordered the chicken quesadilla, steak fajitas, and California burrito. All were excellent and huge portions! The steak fajitas in California burrito were enough food for two people. Service was slightly hard to call over, but it wasn't too bad. My only other complaint would be that I would have liked to have more steak in our California Burrito, but overall I would order it again still. There is indoor and outdoor dining. We only dined Outdoors because the weather was really nice, and it was very comfortable to sit in their outdoor booths and enjoy the fresh air. The restaurant is decorated very nicely and it would be great for families or small groups. They do provide a good amount of guacamole with the three dishes that I ordered. I look forward to eating here many times in the future during our annual Puerto Rico trip! read more

We discovered this spot while walking down Ashford Avenue. We tried the social bowls with steak and carnitas, along with two tacos--one with barbacoa beef and the other with carnitas. Where do I start with this one? Curb appeal was nice which I guess is what draws people in. Sat at the bar, and scanned the QR code for the menu. Chips and a tiny plastic of what I guess is their version of salsa. No salt and very little flavor. Chips were too big to dip in the tiny plastic cup so I had to break each chip to small pieces to dip. Then I realized how loud the music was, which was bad but not as bad as the pseudo half punk rock half screaming ballad in Spanish was. Think nine inch nails in Spanish at a dinner spot, not an outside beach bar. Ordered the queso fundido with chorizo and was expecting a creamy cheese dip with crumbled Mexican chorizo. What I got was a block of what tasted like mozzarella cheese with sliced sausage. Neither ingredient was conducive to dipping anything short of a chipping gun. Two minutes later when the cheese returned to its natural solid state it was anything but edible. Ordered fajitas for dinner which were not bad. The cook desperately needs to learn to season his food. Chicken cutlet need to be trimmed a bit better but the pico and guacamole were decent. Staff members on break were seated at the bar - not a good look. There are no salt and pepper shakers, just more tiny plastic cups. This is a non repeat for me. Diners be warned. read more

I would strongly advise avoiding Burrito Social in San Juan. We came with a party of 18 and had what can only be described as the worst dining experience any of us have ever had. To start, I ordered an appetizer that never arrived--not late, not wrong, just completely forgotten. Multiple people in our group didn't receive their meals at all. The orders that did come were riddled with mistakes, and there seemed to be no urgency or accountability from the staff. When we finally asked our server to address the missing items and issues, she turned around and complained to the manager that we were being rude. No apology, no attempt to fix the situation--just complete disregard for the customer experience. It's one thing to have a busy night or minor issues with service, but this was full-blown chaos with a bad attitude to match. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was beyond unacceptable. This is located at the prime place in San Juan. While you are here exploring the city and the beautiful neighborhood filled with bars and food shops. This is a huge place with ample amount of seating. Best part was complimentary nachos and salsa as soon as you are seated. The service is fast, the place is always full. Food: The food is amazingly delicious! The frittatas are a must try in here. The social bowl is again very good. I personally had better Pinacolada in here so I wasn't a fan but it wasn't bad. There was only one vegetarian option in all of them that is with mushroom so it wasn't bad. If you do not eat mushroom and looking for veggie option, this might not be the place. Went here for late lunch/dinner last night. First impressions were really good. Waiters were kind and inviting. We sat and ordered the guac and cheese dip. Not much flavor in the guacamole, cheese dip with not very great flavor. We then ordered shrimp quesadilla for myself, my wife had the shrimp tacos, and two other folks ordered Bowls. One bowl was a steak bowl and the other one was a protein/vegetarian bowl. My quesadilla had very little flavor but lots of cheese, which likewise had not much flavor. Tacos were fine, but not cooked to our liking. The vegetarian bowl was perhaps the most edible thing we had a table. Bowl has some steak on top, but that was excess cheese. The frozen margaritas were not very good. Taste more like tequila with syrup, very sweet. One person had the margarita on the rock, which was a little better in flavor.
