I think this place is for foreigners- I did not see any locals. When I asked the taxi driver post meal, he had alternative places. Solid food, clean, not excessively greasy. We got 15 tacos for ~$54 USD (paid in MX$) to share. Tacos were good sizes- eating 3 would be a full meal for me. Got 3 of each meat protein they had: 1. Beef, my favorite. 2. pork 3. Chicken 4. Shrimp- straight forward, my 2nd place. 5. Can't remember * the tortillas were soft, toasted well, not dry. *topping (onion, cilantro and salsa Mexicans, aka pico de gallo) are all on the side to placed we asked for more of everything. * ketchup and mustard bottle.. Yellow- very spicy salsa Red- mild spicy salsa 2 tables for outside dinning and 4 tables inside dining. Nice service. Easy to walk to in downtown. Downside- I thought it was a bit expensive for want my street Mexican food.
This is hands down the best burrito I have ever had. They let me do a small modification(can't stand beans) and they did it with a smile. This is a family owned and you can tell they care about the customers. It's a small quiet place with seating for only a few but you are eating within minutes of ordering. If you are looking for food that taste great this is the place. It's even better that it's a great value

Burritos Gorditos is fresh, tasty and a very charming spot to visit on the gorgeous Isla de Cozumel. Incredibly sweet people, delicious salsas and a highly versatile menu that will allow you to find a favorite fast! Can't wait to visit them again when heading back to the island so I can pick up another shrimp burrito before hitting the beach!
Cruise ship crew member here- heard about this place on my first contract and have come back every contract after! Consistency and quality are the first two words that come to mind, they make everything fresh to order and the tortillas are cooked perfectly! We usually opt for the steak and shrimp burrito for lunch or the chorizo and eggs for breakfast! Truly worth seeking this place out for a delicious and peaceful meal.
Oh yeah I read the reviews I can't say anything more than what the reviews already say I was looking for a good cheap breakfast in this breakfast burrito hit the spot get the large if you can't eat it the leftovers a few hours later will hit the spot. It's a small spot with only two people one in the kitchen one out front I was lucky to get there early if you're after 10 o'clock plan on spending time in line.
I absolutely loved my experience at Burritos Gorditos!! I loved the food so much that I went back twice during my weeklong vacation in Cozumel. The staff was very friendly. For payment they accepted cash- usd, pesos, or credit card. My burrito was ready within about 10 minutes. The manager threw in three different types of spicy salsa, which were each delicious. I went with the steak and shrimp burrito that also had a guacamole, rice and beans inside. It was extremely flavorful and delicious. One of my favorite bites while I was in Cozumel. There's also some nice shopping in the area. It is touristy but fun to check out while you're there. read more
Probably the best burrito Ive ever had. The lady there is super nice as well. I ordered a breakfast burrito my first visit and the carne asada burrito my second visit. Yes it was so good I went twice. I got the small one and it was pretty big. I couldnt imagine eating the large one. This place is pretty close to the centro and an easy to walk to from the ships. read more

If you're looking for a local restaurant with great food, this is the place to come. The burritos are amazing and huge at a great price. I love spicy, so they're habanero sauce hit the spot. We even had left overs, no microwave, and they were still tasty read more

We stopped in here as soon as we arrived to Cozumel. My fellow Yelpers said it was great so here we go: Burrito Gorditos looks like a little hole in the wall place because well it is. It has a very small seating area and the kitchen/prep area is right behind the cash register. When we walked in we were warmly greeted and the manager/owner immediately jumped in and made conversation. I appreciate that he spoke English because mi Espanol es muy mal. Though the entrance was opened and we were the only guests, he closed the door and turned on the air for us. I ordered the Barbacoa burrito and my partner the Chicken Bowl. Both were really delicious and flavorful. They even explained the sauces to us and both were also great. The regular size is more than enough unless you're staving to death. I would definitely eat here again. Also just for free, it was the best public bathroom I've used in all of Mexico so far and it was in the back with the sink outside but at least it had a toilet seat and was clean and there was enough space to do my business without head butting the door. read more

Lying somewhere in the realm between being a tourist trap and an expat hangout, this place is actually quite an enjoyable place to get lunch in Cozumel. It's pretty far off the beaten path on the north side of San Miguel and it's very small. But being a lunch counter setting with some very high off the ground square tables fits the simplicity that this place has. The sign off the street with its colorful block letters set this mood for me before I even stepped in the door. The one man staff was very friendly. In the time that my lady and I were inside this restaurant, a number of people stopped in for take out orders and, speaking perfect English, talked to him like old friends. While we weren't made to feel like visitors, our burritos seemed to take a lot longer than the simple act of cooking them should have taken. This did give me time to check out the decor and it confirmed the community aspect of this place. They have an English language book exchange against one walls and community posts all around. Since this place was a little slice of the United States, I wasn't surprised with how basically like anything burrito you could get at home the burrito was. The hot sauces were definitely a tad bit spicier but the innards of the burrito consisted of some mildly interesting beans and rice, some better than average sour cream, and some almost invisible veggies. I'm sure the meat burritos are better based on what everything was ordering but that didn't do me much good. If I lived in San Miguel, I'm sure I would love this place more, but as a tourist, I feel like there are more interesting options. Though very few as non-touristy as this one. read more

Overall just a solid burrito joint. I got the breakfast burrito: mushroom and spinach. For some reason the sour cream that they had in the bottle to eat with your burrito was just really good! I ordered the regular size which filled me just enough. read more

Looooooove this place!!! Local bar owner recommended this little spot and we were not disappointed. Try the Katy! It's egg, bacon, potatoes, cheese, sour cream, avocado, and spicy pico de gallo!!! Hands down amazing! Sorry I had to take two bites before taking to picture ha! read more

Delicious local hole in the wall food. Nice moist burritos hot off the grill. So much better than the US. And very nice owners who turned on the AC for us. read more

Got a breakfast burrito with egg and bacon. It is probably one of the best burritos I've ever had. My friend got chicken burrito which was great too. I think the burrito has less rice and beans and more of other ingredients that make it even more awesome. read more
