    The blueberry lemonade slushie
    Britta S.

We stopped at this cute spot because we had heard their fish & chips were a must try, but due to demand they were currently out....we later came to learn it's a very popular spot for the fish & chips! So I happened to spot they offered a blueberry lemonade slushie....need I say more? It was SO good. Words probably don't even do it justice. The real blueberries gave it the best flavor, and nothing about this tasted the least bit artificial. It's the real deal! Not watered down, truly perfect. Now I'll just be dreaming about this slushie on every hot summer day going forward! Go get one & you'll understand why I'm gushing about a slushie. :)

We came to this place on a tip from a Homer local. I'd recommend getting here early because they have limited ingredients that tend to run sooner than later. Ordered the fish and chips which came out perfectly cooked. The halibut was panko crusted which gave a light crunch to the outside of the fish. I wish it could have been seasoned a bit more, but the tartar sauce was a very fresh and tasty a addition. We also ordered the Rising Sun chicken sandwich and that was just awesome! Highly recommend this place and try eating upstairs on the 2nd level of the bus!

We were looking for good fish and chips on the spit, and this place did not disappoint. We ordered the yellow eye rockfish fish and chip meal and it was stellar!! The breading was light and crispy without being too heavy, the fish was firm and juicy, and the tarter sauce was on point. My wife said it was possibly the best breaded/fried fish she's ever had, and I had a hard time arguing with her. The prices are fair and they have seating upstairs in the bus or outside at picnic tables when the weather's nice. They're only open limited hours, but definitely worth a stop if you're craving delicious food!

Local here : Best chicken sandwich! Dave makes the pickles that are on this sandwich I know it's just pickles but I want them right now as I type . Truly !!! And my husband got the coconut shrimp soooo good and dipping sauce was great with a little kick ! Blueberry lemonade slushy had chunks of blueberries. I should have taken a pic of the food . A good Portion of Halibut fish and chips, seems to be the gripe on the Homer Spit, but not here.

We started with apps- the Fresh Rolls (vegetarian/vegan) are done beautifully, but the star was the cilantro herb dressing/dip on the side was amazing- I tried to get the recipe but they weren't giving it up! I'd buy it by the bottle! The crab Rangoon were enjoyed (I don't eat them but two of the diners ate them all and loved them). The steam pork dumplings were delicious- tender, flavorful, not gummy at all. Light but filling! For main meals- Clear Tom Yum soup with shrimp: excellent flavor! Lots of shrimp and mushrooms and the perfect balance of heat and flavor. I adore good Tom Yum and struggle to find it on the Peninsula but this is one of the two best I've had worldwide. Pad Chow Mein- we got one chicken and one pork. The meat was a touch dry, but there was a decent amount of nice, light broth/sauce in the bottom. The noodles were perfect and tons of great veggies. Pad Prik Gluer Tofu- I'm not a tofu fan and even I loved this! The crispy shallots/onions were amazing (also needs to be sold by the buck!) and overall just killer flavor. Garlic Chicken- this one has some allergies so they made sure to leave off soy/gluten for us. The fried garlic on top was wonderful and the perfect texture addition, and everything was fresh and steamed perfectly. The Thai Iced Teas were fantastic as well, rich and creamy and still light. A simple Jasmine hot tea worked nicely for the rest of us. We will be back and will definitely be bringing friends. Large portions, excellent quality and great service- The whole Peninsula needed this place!

An interesting place, and as it opens very early in the morning, it's a great choice for breakfast…read more It's always been busy when we've been in. The vibe inside is old-fashioned, and features antique ranges, but it's definitely a no-frills type of place. The staff are on the ball, and get you seated quickly, with drinks being served fast, and with a smile. We were there for breakfast on Saturday morning at 8am, but have also been there for lunch (Their onion rings are amazing) i got the eggs benedict with bacon, potatoes on the side, I'm not sure what husbands was called, but it featured biscuits n gravy, 3 scrambled eggs, and choice of bacon or sausage. We both got coffee, and it's a diner, so they come around with the coffee pot constantly offering refills. Benedict was only average today I'm afraid, my egg yolk was jammy, rather than runny. The hollandaise was unusual, and quite salty - not awful, just not the best I've ever had, but equally it wasn't horrible. It would not stop me coming back. The potatoes - i believe they were frozen, and not fresh. Again, not awful, just not the best I've had. The bacon was good, the muffin was good too. I ate most of it, so obviously it was an acceptable meal. Husband ate everything but half a biscuit. I'd probably rate the food we had today at a 3, though i have had better food here, so this is not a rating set in stone, my experience was a 4 star, as the staff are lovely, and service is very good, and i will still come back.

What a great place for breakfast in Homer!…read more Super cute. Super easy to find. And super friendly service. We had about a 10 minute wait which gave us time to look over the menu and some of the history on the walls. Once we were seated at a table our server quickly came over with waters and asked if we wanted anything else to drink. A previous review said it's self service for water - we did not experience that. I had an OJ and my husband at tea. The OJ comes in a massive glass, not the standard water cup size. For breakfast I had the burrito which was super good! I was a little hesitant when it said chipotle tortilla - I wasn't sure what that entailed. I'm still not really sure, but I can say the burrito tortilla was a little crispy which helped keep my burrito together when I ate it. The burrito comes cut in half, which makes eating it way more manageable. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy which he also enjoyed. We will definitely be eating here again when we're in Homer.
