Tried this place out on 7/14 there was a line out the door so i assumed it had to be good! Place had good amount of seating and was pretty clean. Staff was nice and helpful. We tried the cod and shrimp with chips price was a bit on high side wish it came with more chips. The chips were amazing crispy criss cut fries wow! But the cod fish was very good but the batter falls right off and is not seasoned very much. I didn't like that the shrimp were skewered on a stick. The shrimp was hard to pull off and when you go to pull a shrimp off all the batter falls off and the shrimp is unseasoned so it tastes like what you dip it in. The fish and shrimp were fresh and of good quality. Won't be heading back next visit to Homer. read more

The nice thing about eating here in Homer is that you know the seafood is fresh. Homer is home to fishing boats and a number of seafood processing plants. There are several restaurants on this boardwalk and in the surrounding area. We spent all day halibut fishing and were looking for a bite to eat afterwards. Our guide gave us a few suggestions to choose from. I decided to check out Boardwalk Fish & Chips because of its casual relaxed atmosphere. They are know for their halibut fish and chips. They also have beautiful views of the Kachemak Bay from their dining area. We were able to spot some Orcas swimming by while we were eating. Majority of my group ordered the fish and chips. I got the Shrimp Basket with coleslaw. Boardwalk Fish & Chips is open seasonally. Their menu offers a number of seafood classics, burgers, soups and salads. There are several gifts shops and stores on the Boardwalk if you want to do some shopping before or after you eat. This was a nice place to stop in for a quick bite to eat. read more

We were in AK last summer and I still think about these fish and chips. The halibut fish and chips were delicious. Not cheap but worth it. They have very light breading on them and tartar sauce seemed homemade. The chips were good and the clam chowder was really good too. Service was quick for the amount of people that were in there. The restaurant itself is nothing special, a bunch of benches indoors and some outdoors. There was good views everywhere. Especially the tables by the windows. read more

Boardwalk is a solid fish & chips located on the Homer Spit and has a great seating area with a view of Kachemak Bay. It is a stand to order - serve yourself drinks joint. They used to sell alcohol but do not have beer or wine the summer of 2025. Their clam strips are great. Their DILL SAUCE / TARTAR SAUCE is the BEST IN HOMER IMHO. read more

It was okay, the halibut wasn't terrible but the cod was oily and a little sus. We are local Alaskans and we eat here almost every time we go to Homer but this time it wasn't too good. We eat lots of Alaskan fish but this was not the best one. They also got rid of there alcohol which was also a change to here. The service and outside seating is always nice though. read more

Selection is limited to the basics, but what more you really want? Solid beer list but not much else (again, what more do you really want?) The fish and chips was great. Gigantic pieces of fish, probably the biggest I've seen on a fish and chips plate. Super yummy, perfectly cooked and flavored. The fries were also amazing, as they should be. The chowder was a little lackluster for me, more potato than clam and a little more watery than I'd like. But we can't have it all, right? The place was basically clean, considering the level of orders going through it. Designed in your very basic "we're a fish and chips shop" decor. My brother recommended we get the halibut fish and chips when we visited the Homer Spit. You order at the counter and when ready, they deliver the food to your table. They have two local brews to choose from, some wine and soda. I got the halibut (market price was $27) and my husband got the cod fish and chips to compare. Exhibit A, the clam strips below that were obviously left in the fryer too long but since it was close to closing time they chose to serve them anyway. Well, you can't beat the view. You just can't. Overlooking the water and mountains. The fish and chips were good and the chowder was delicious, had a bit of a kick to it. Wow!!! My mom was in the state visiting, and LOVED the halibut from the last time she visited. She ordered the halibut and chips and I ordered the cod and chips. I like how we order straight away then sit down; I feel like it's more efficient this way. There is window seating with great views and then outdoor seating. I thought the fish was great and I am not a fish kind of girl. Loved the waffle fries also. I ordered the white wine and it was good! I feel like the prices were reasonable, especially with how full I felt after I ate everything. Went back the next day for lunch and the line was out the door and read some reviews and it said it was a great place to go. All the reviews are correct! I have never been disappointed at Boardwalk! I recently had the Halibut Fish & Chips and OMGGGG so good! The halibut was golden and crisp on the outside, and so tender and perfectly cooked inside that it fell apart as I ate it. The tartar sauce was not too sour or sweet, but just right, and couldn't have been a better pairing to the fish. The fries were amazing - golden, crisp, and hot! Neither the fish nor the chips were too greasy - they really know what they're doing at Boardwalk. The restaurant was busy and they still managed to serve fresh and delicious food for four of us within 10 minutes. This isn't an upscale restaurant but if you sit outside you have a good view of both the water and the heart of Homer Spit. And more importantly, they have the best halibut fish and chips I've had yet. read more

Whenever I go to homer I always love to try new places and I always order seafood! This places seafood was awesome! Walking into the restaurant you order off the menu that is on the wall in chalk, which is so quaint! Then order at the register and they bring you the food out and call you name when it's ready! Two of my friends and I ordered and shared the plates, they all came with fries. I of course ordered a cup of clam chowder that was pretty good. I loved the seasoning and flavored of the clam chowder, but I wish there was bigger pieces of clam in the chowder. We also ordered the deep fried salmon filet, which is the first time I've ever had fried salmon. It was amazing. Color and flavor was awesome accompanied by awesome tarter sauce. We also ordered clam strips and calamari, best calamari I've had in Alaska! So tender and just the right amount of batter on the pieces of calamari! Honestly this did not meet my expectations. The crust was kind of soggy, and the fish was a little dry. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't great. I expect better quality for $25 fish and chips.
