    Disgusting!!

I ordered through Postmates today, their chicken had feathers, Yuck when I called the lady that answered said well that's how they received it,

    Chicken gizzards & fried okra

I have to admit the breading and seasoning on the chicken gizzards was the bomb! Talk about yummy! I caught myself almost eating the entire box. There was sooo much food. The okra was cooked to perfection and they don't hold back on giving you a nice portion. This meal also came with a biscuit and gravy, which was also delicious and a drink. It was like two meals in one. I do highly recommend.

We pass by and decided to stop by Bush's. The food was fresh and I asked if the liver and gizzards were hot and the manager gave me a sample of both and stated that if I need them hotter they would drop a batch for me. The employee and manager were were very nice and attentive with everyone that came in after us. I separated the liver and the gizzards but this was only one meal. The restaurant was clean and the restroom was very clean. Glad I stop by. Overall it was a great visit.

16 tenders large fries and 4 rolls

I decided to grab chicken on the way home from work for dinner. I when to the Bush's chicken in Alamo Ranch. The lines were not very long so I was able to order in less than 5 mins. The tenders family meal was my selection. My food came out quickly and I was on my way. I felt the dinner meal was a little pricy at $25 for 16 tenders, 4 rolls, a large fries and gravy. The food was ok. The rolls were very good but the chicken was just ok. I also felt the fries were very good. The gravy they gave me is white gravy with not much flavor. I would like to see more spicy or seasoned options for my taste. Perhaps spicy tenders would be a good addition to Bush's menu. All and all it was a decent meal and I was satisfied with it.

    Tuesday tender special

I have to agree with a fellow review, I don't see why this place has such low ratings. The drive thru line looked intimidating (wrapped around the building to the street) but it moved so fast. We barely spent 5 mins in line. They had two people outside, running and taking orders then had two other people out running the food. It was one of the smoothest drive thrus I have ever been to. As far as the food goes, I have to admit; I was thoroughly impressed. The chicken was hot, seemed fresh. It tasted just like fried chicken would if it was off the bone and not like refrigerated ones. I'll be the first one to admit that they looked really bland but they really weren't. They were super flavorful. The green beans also surprised me because they were flavorful like they had been cooked in broth. I expected beans from a can but these were not it or they know how to season very well. I honestly enjoyed this place more than raising canes, KFC, and Popeyes. The gravy is a little bleh for me, but I'm also not a white gravy type of person. It too however was seasoned and tasted like a decent peppered gravy. You should definitely check this place out, especially for the Tuesday special.

The restaurant is a lot nicer than I expected. It's still casual, but the food feels like a big step above your typical chicken spot. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The chicken was excellent, the sides were great, and the whole meal felt more like a restaurant experience than a quick bite between errands. It struck a nice balance between comfort food and quality ingredients. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the food exceeded my expectations in every way. Sometimes the best meals are the ones you weren't planning on. Southerleigh Haute South was a pleasant surprise, and it's absolutely worth the trip. Five stars.

That said, the food didn't quite meet expectations. Having spent considerable time in Louisiana, I've had solid Cajun and Creole cooking, so I'm coming in with a fair point of reference. The 1/4 chicken was mostly breading with not much substance underneath. The okra came out cold, and the gumbo was uneven-part of it hot, part of it not which made it feel more reheated than freshly prepared. Service was courteous, but a bit inconsistent in terms of attentiveness. I'm sharing this in the spirit of wanting the restaurant to improve, because it has a lot going for it. With more consistency in the kitchen and a bit more focus on execution, it could be a much stronger experience.

Checked Yelp for dinner suggestions so Doc drove us to the paid lot next to where all the Cinderella lit up carriages drawn by horses were lined up. It seemed the boats going up and down the River portion of the Walk were busier. While we were walking I had my eyes open for a table with a view. We stopped at Four Brothers. The receptionist went over suggestions on the menu on her outdoor podium. Cornbread in the shape of Texas, shareable items like Dino ribs for $82, plus Pork Shank and ice tea completed our order. Everyone was very friendly. We had an exceptional view and we had more than enough food that we had to ask for take out boxes. My favorite was the Mac & cheese though I'm usually not a fan. This dish used cork screw shaped pasta and it was moist and not stuck together. I had to share a photo of it with Sweetie who is in Tokyo right now. Doc liked the pimento for the cornbread. As it was almost 9 pm we decided to pass on the boat ride but just walk on the other side with shops and more eateries. We're back on the road again tomorrow to Arizona.

For a starter we shared the cornbread with another couple and it was plenty for 4 people. If you are from out of town and looking for some Texas-shaped vittles or just want something substantial to stretch your meal I recommend it! Very tasty and filling. For my main I had the scallops with creamed corn risotto. It was a dainty portion but the flavors were nice. My husband had the short rib tagliatelle which he loved. It was very rich and filling. We had the buttermilk pie again for dessert and this time it tasted sweeter than I remembered. It was good but we couldn't finish it. Idk if it was my tastebuds or if it was different. Anyways still a great meal overall and we will be back!

Tres Leches was beautiful. 4/5. I like the fresh fruits to cut down the sweetness. The cake was a bit in the dense side. The icing on top was thick. They ran out of everything I planned to purchase between the time I called and drove to the restaurant from the airport (short ride). The area where the condiments are stored was not as clean or organized as it should have been for a restaurant. There seemed to be enough staff to take care of it while I was there. Staff I came in contact with were nice and acknowledged with a smile when I was at my table. There is an area before arriving to the restroom that was not as clean as it should have been. The garbage can was running over with trash. Atmosphere: Loud, joyful, and family friendly environment. I met a family who were looking for a place to sit. I invited them to sit with me and it was great! I will be back the next time I am in the San Antonio area. I'm thinking positively . If you're in the area, check them out and give them a try.
