I honestly couldn't be happier with my experience. I'm so grateful I stumbled across this business…read more I called more than 15 car audio and electronics repair shops across Los Angeles trying to find someone who would even look at my Power Acoustik head unit. Every place I contacted either told me they couldn't help or wanted me to replace the entire unit. Star Service 88 was the first company willing to actually diagnose the problem instead of giving up. The technician took the time to remove my head unit, completely disassemble it, find the issue, and repair it. He explained everything along the way, was patient, and charged a very fair price for the work. It's rare to find someone willing to do component-level electronics repair these days, and that's exactly what they did. On top of fixing my radio, he also noticed my sound system wasn't tuned properly from a previous installation. He took the extra time to balance my speakers and improve the overall sound quality, fixing a problem that another shop had left behind. They solved a problem that over 15 other businesses wouldn't even attempt, and they did it professionally, honestly, and at a fair price. I finally have my music back, my system sounds better than before, and I found an electronics technician I can genuinely trust. Safe to say, I've found my go-to shop for electronics repairs. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending them to anyone who needs honest, skilled work. Thank you again!

We got a VHS/DVD combo from my husband's grandmother who passed away and after testing it we…read morerealized it's not powering. We wanted to fix it. Who used a VCR nowadays? Well, us, for work related transfers and as cinefile-s (some movies - and they're rare were never released passed the VHS era). I started to look into Electronic Repair stores in the area and there aren't many left. Not surprised, but it's LA, so luckily, there are a few left in business, like FET Electronics. I read the Yelp reviews, it was encouraging and bookmarked it! Fast forward 3 months later, we had another issue with a similar Panasonic model that we own, so we decided to give the place a shot. My husband called over, talked to Mark, the owner and felt reassured after their conversation because he identified the issues just over the phone. We stopped by one day and dropped them and met Mark, who is very nice, knowledgeable, a real professional. Not many like him left behind! Too bad that is a profession that is going away. You don't always feel like throwing out equipment that has an issue and get a new one, not always that easy for your set up. Everyone has their reasons! The place is in Burbank, on Burbank Blvd. (close to the Hollywood Way intersection), we found street parking in front. The store might seem small, but it goes all the way back! It's a geek electronics paradise, lots of audio equipment around. Mark also did work for major musicians like Van Halen among many others - check his photo gallery on the wall! Famed clients! We left the VCR-s, called in about 2 weeks and he fixed them, he was testing them to make sure! After a few days we picked them up, he checked them for us, and he gives you a 3 months warranty which is great. If you're in a rush, this might not work out since Mark is busy, but if you're patient, he will get it fixed in a few weeks. It's not cheap, but he gets high quality parts and it makes sense for the repair to last. If you have an old piece of equipment that needs to be fixed, Mark is the guy. Hurry in before he retires! He is very nice, kind, nice to chat with, reassuring, calm, and very, very knowledgeable, you will trust him on the spot. Closed in the weekend! Great experience, great place, hope it will be around for a while. It helped our situation and the location is great! Nice to get great service at a local small business in the area!

If I could give 20 stars I would. Johnny is reliable,…read moreextremely competent and reasonable. He has done a couple of repairs and each time I was more than satisfied. I highly recommend Johnny for tv installation and repair.

I'm bewildered. Is it possible that an honest, reputable and affordable service business like this…read morestill exists?? My SONY 3D TV picture became a pixelated mess on Sunday and I spent Mon and Tues researching how to fix it. Everything online said it can't be fixed. I called three highly-recommended repair shops and none of them would even touch it after looking at the screen captures. All three told me to throw it out and get a new one. 3D TVs are obsolete now and there are no new ones to get! Frustrated, I forced myself to accept reality. I had just put the TV in the doorway to be set out by the trash on Wednesday when John returned my message and said he could fix it and would be by in an hour to pick it up. I looked up his Yelp reviews and they were eyebrow raising, to the point of too good to be true, and my cynical nature was setting up red flags all over the place. He showed up and was cheerful, respectful and completely confident he would have it repaired and returned "hopefully by Saturday, but definitely by Monday." He loaded the TV in his car and was off and I spent the rest of the day wondering when the call would come where he told me he couldn't fix it after all and it would have to be thrown away. But yesterday, 24 hours after taking the TV away, he called to say it was fixed and he was on his way to deliver it. And he did. And it was fixed. And I don't know what he did, but the picture actually looks better than it did before he picked it up. And the 3D works great. And the price was very fair. And I feel like I dreamed the whole episode. My God, what a world this would be if every business was like this! If you are ever in need of TV repair service, let this guy be your first choice. I guarantee that you will never have need for another.
