He googled the hours of the closest place within walking distance which happens to be this place and "open until 8:30 pm." This was a cute general store, but everything is painfully over priced and the customer service is horrible. If you need anything I would recommend going to the local market or drug store nearby instead. I stopped in to get some Jelly Bellies and other candies. Two bags that were about a quarter full cost me $13! This is a convenient general store for travelers staying at the nearby hotel. I could not imagine many locals come here given there's a Von's right down the street at the Minaret Village Shopping Center. In any case, people still come here as I did to pick up a few items before heading back to the hotel. I picked up a small carton of chocolate milk, some candy for the road the next day, and a banana for a late night snack if need be. The M&M's and Skittles were $1.50 each which I felt was reasonable, I can't remember what the banana cost, just that I would of preferred them a little greener, and the Chocolate milk was $1 and some change. They do carry a handful of essential items that one would need if they were staying nearby and their hotel room offered a Kitchenette. Most items were on the pricey side but that was to be expected. Customer service was alright. It was later in the evening, and I could tell the two young ladies working the late shift could not wait to leave. read more

People are just so rude these days. There was a young girl working and she couldn't be bothered because she was too busy on her phone. I wanted to purchase a bowl but it didn't have a price tag so she wouldn't sell it. I asked her a few more questions and she just couldn't pull herself away from her phone to answer me. If you want an expensive liquor store this might be your place. I wanted some salad and frozen food we could heat up for dinner in our room. The produce section was completely empty. The freezer section was 30% full and all the entrées had meat. I did score the last package of frozen spinach. The refrigerator section was out of juice and I was happy to get some Lactaid milk, but got back to my room and found out it was past the sell date. I passed by 12 ounces of sliced Sonoma cheese for $16. Bought the last guacamole but it was flavorless. Did get two cans of lentil vegetable soup. $44. The one star is for their customer service. The man at the register this morning was beyond rude, and yelled at me telling me he didn't care what I said. I was paying with a VISA gift card and the machine required me a password which I tried to explain to the attendant, however he got very frustrated and spoke to me in a very demeaning and rude way. They rather lose the business, than work with the client. Someone brought the cashier food, so he was probably in a hurry to go eat his meal rather than doing his job. I really liked this store! I was a bit hesitant due to some of the other reviews but I needed a few supplies and snacks for our condo and wanted to walk to get them. They had a really great selection for a small place. I'm gluten free and they even had plenty of options for that. I bought a big bag of chips, Lara bars, ice cream, first aid supplies, and a box of hot cocoa and my total was $23, which I thought was reasonable, especially given the convenience. Horrible rude people work at this place. We bought a small can of coffee for 8.79 and then after sharing what we spent the friends we were with said we will give you some coffee to use. We only needed one serving for a coffee pot the next morning. So we wanted to return it. Less than 10 minutes after we bought. The older lady threw her hands up and said rudely that the manager was not there so we could not return it. Everything in this store is so overpriced that I wonder if they are price gouging? It is a tourist spot for sure but folgers coffee in that size should not be double the normal price. I mean I will pay a little higher because the store is closer to home but double? The Busy Beez General Store staff are more than happy to sell visitors overpriced items, but when asked for assistance they were all absolutely the rudest people I've met in Mammoth Lakes. With their poor level of customer service, it won't be long til they're under new management or until the owner identifies the three people working this morning (02/032017@10:00 am) and fires them. After a week in Mammoth and meeting some of the most amazing Mammoth Village shop owners, I was shocked that such rude, and downright mean people would work in such a niche little store.
