But the reason we're always here is for the ice cream! The flavors rotate regularly and my family and I decided that we prefer their ice cream to any of the other shops in town. This is a cool store that sells games, toys, other random items and also ice cream! It's a very fun vibe inside. I got a small cup of cinnamon brown sugar ice cream with Oreos and peanuts. The ice cream costs $6 but you get two toppings included. I've never had a cinnamon brown sugar ice cream flavor before and it was really good! The service was a little slow but there's plenty to look at while waiting in line. read more

Talk about blast from the past! As soon as you walk in, you're transported to an era where cellphone did not exist. Where if you were board, you grab a boardgame with friends! Where if you hang with your buds, you get ice cream, sit and chat. Where life slowed down and you enjoyed life and other people's company. Was craving ice cream and I noticed the cute ice cream decorations outside. We walked over from our hotel after dinner and got some sundays. it was super cute, small and cozy. It's a great idea in here. Games line the walls, tables with big windows to play them and eat ice cream. Service was fine. Ice cream was good but the toppings are clearly old. I got almonds and they were so stale chocolate chips were that grayish color. read more

Our Air Bnb host left us a gift card to use here but to be honest we had this place on our list to check out anyway! We came after a long morning of hiking to get ice cream. They had about 10 flavors to choose from , a few scoop options, and some topping choices! We loved that you got a free topping if you got your ice cream in a cup. They also have tons and tons of fun toys and games and a great selection of souvenirs as well. There is even some tables to play your newly purchased games! A must while you are in Mammoth. read more

Came here for shakes because the spot right outside of June Lake village is disgusting. So glad we found it! The gals at the counter were so patient with our party of 9 and indecisive children. I got the huckleberry milkshake. My mom son got a spumoni milkshake. Husband ordered maple bourbon ice cream and it was so good. They have a couple tables in the shop so you can enjoy your ice cream and test out some of the board games. Huge selection of board games, toys, arts and crafts . read more

Kid's delight with several square feet of toys and random odd ball gadgets. It's a fun place, thus the name, fun shop. Came here with a large group to try the ice cream. It was a Sunday evening and the person helping us was very nice and accommodating, even after we tasted several samples. In any event, the ice cream is from Oregon, but it was decadent and not overly sweet. I tried the Kona Coffee and Wild Mountain Berry. Yummy! The cones, which are handmade, and toppings are inclusive, so no binge charging like other ice cream shops. Next time you're in town, check this place out. There's always room for ice cream, in the summer AND winter. read more

Stopped in here for ice cream with friend's family because he recommended it highly. Was NOT disappointed. Daughter got rainbow sherbet, which was really really good so I proceeded to steal her portion a bit when she wasn't looking. Probably should've gotten my own cone, sigh. The merchandise seemed plenty and wacky, will have to peruse more next time I'm up in mammoth so my kids can wrangle my wallet from my pocket to buy all these crazy things they got here. read more

I have never left without a grin on my face! My family is simply in love with the Fun Shop. They opened right about when we started making our annual summer pilgrimage to Mammoth, and boy have they delivered. We used to go in and wonder if they'd stay open. Now I go and find it busy 10 minutes before closing. Ice cream, wonderful ice cream, toys of all shapes and sizes, and fun trinkets! If you're camping and bored, come get a game! Good selection. On average, I visit about 3 or 4 times in a week span. Always for ice cream. Mammoth Fun Shop, keep bringing out the kid in all of us. read more

Fresh, the vinaigrette was so good and the berries a perfect pop in a stifling day. The service was also very friendly and fast and overall the place has such a nice, good vibe to it so we will definitely be back the next time we're in town :)

There was a splash of pesto and a couple little pieces of chicken. 90% of the crepe is the bread or galette or whatever. The rest (which isn't much) is just thrown in there. At $16 each, this was a complete ripoff, even worse than the usual Mammoth ripoff. The ambiance is pretty good though and they have a nice wine bar area. The chicken was equally impressive with a seriously crunchy coating. Basically, if you've been sleeping on the ground and eating camping food for a few days, this is the kind of meal that reminds you civilization has its perks. Unfortunately, they were out of both of those items. I server was Daniel and he was friendly and helpful in choosing other entrees. We split a Caesar salad, which was refreshing. For Andres, we ordered the venison and duck. My husband was worried about the venison, but Daniel assured him that he would find it very tender. Both of the nails were very good, but I think we ended up preferring the venison. The plates were beautifully prepared and served. Our food came out within about 15 minutes. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service we received. We will definitely be back again and hopefully the lamb will be available.

A bright and sunny shop (and I mean it. The whole storefront is floor-to-ceiling windows.) with stuff for just about everyone who likes having fun. They have a wide price range. Some small things are around $5 and others are $100+. Most things fall somewhere in between. They have a small selection of souvenirs which is great being that they are one of the last stops on the way out of town. Magnets, shot glasses, mugs, puzzles, Bigfoot nick-knacks (hence the statue out front that is the perfect photo-op), postcards, etc. Kind of limited on souvenir clothing but not a big deal for us. The game selection is huge. Plenty of the classics and a bunch I've never heard of. There's a 20-ft wall just covered with board games. They had a couple different Harry Potter games which was exciting for a Hufflepuff like myself. There's another wall decked out with juggling stuff from balls and clubs, to knives and fire sticks. They have the most emaculate bathrooms I've ever seen in a public place. It felt like I was in my own bathroom at home but way more spacious. There was even diapers in multiple sizes in the bathroom next to the baby changing station. Their ice cream looked delicious. The salted caramel is so decadent but I went with the Peppermint Patty. It tastes just like a York. They also offer FREE toppings on their cups. Obviously limited to what space is left after they put in the ice cream so make sure you let them know everything that you want so they leave enough room. They also do little pocket pies (kind of like a hot pocket but way better for you). I'm told they make them completely from scratch, crust and all. They have a woman who comes in specifically for pie making. Sweet flavors as well as savory flavors so it's the perfect lunch spot for something quick and light. They said they sometimes offer house-made banana bread and soft pretzels with cheese sauce, too. It was mid-September when we were here which meant it was still a bit warm so they had some wooden chairs out front where you could sit with your dog and enjoy your ice cream. Driving up Main Street, this place caught my eye! What's a Fun Shop? I couldn't resist checking it out, and I was not disappointed. It was SO FUN! Toys, board games, souvenirs, ICE CREAM, puzzles, you name it and this shop has it! The staff was really eager to help and very knowledgeable. I was looking for a game called Cranium that I used to play when I was young and not only did they have it, but they had the adult version! I sampled a few ice creams (obvi) and settled on Caramel Pretzel (AMAZING) and my boyfriend and I were able to sit down and play some games in the shop while we ate our ice cream! There was A LOT to look at here but it was all so organized and clean omg and they have really cute bathrooms. This will be a MUST STOP for future trips! I love it! read more

The store is a dream, especially for children. At the entrance, there is a toy soldier greets visitors. It was the scene of the film "I want to be great" and "Home Alone 2", great experience is take off your shoes and play the giant floor piano. Super fun !!! It was already a few minutes past their weekend closing time of 8 pm but Chase still offered us a sample with an unhurried smile and kept the door open for a few more minutes. When we saw the flavor options in the bins, we noted they were out of our favorite type but Chase happily reassured us there was more and without hesitation opened a new container of ice cream just for us while joking that he would eat the best part of the new container (the extra cookies crunched into the top of the container). We ordered our pint of delicious ice cream then Blaise checked us out at the register. It was a beautiful evening to sit at their tables but we left to eat it because we had others who were waiting at the cabin to consume it as well. If we were eating outside, I'd try to convince my group to order the 4 flavor flight! The 2026 posted summer hours were 12-8 Friday- Saturday and 12-7 Sunday- Thursday.
