This grocery store is near my parents house. I would normally called it a "bodega" like we do back where I'm from back East. It's got that feel to it. I've stopped by several times over the past 8 years for a water or soda or something like that. Never for a fuller grocery list. Yesterday I needed to get a few more things, since the kids were spending the weekend with my parents and they needed junk food LoL. I found everything I needed. Poptarts. OJ. Cookies. Chips. Candy. I'm just passing through and probably will never be here again, but i wanted to commend this grocery store's Produce section. Although the prices of the canned and packaged goods seem to be a little high, I found the prices of Produce very, very reasonable. In fact, I bought a giant variety bag of discounted citrus for $1.69 and tangelos for .69 cents a pound, which is an amazing price, no matter where you are. Mostly though, I want to commend how nice, clean, clutter-free and organized the section is. The veggies and fruits are very, very fresh, and the displays looked attractive and maintained. I can tell a lot of care and attention to detail goes into this part of the store. I guess that's all I have to say. The rest of the store was clean, and the cashiers all seemed very nice. read more

Great little market, reasonable prices, good meat and lots of fresh produce. The workers are friendly too. I read reviews prior to going, people were complaining about the smell of the store. I smelled it when I walked in, but that didn't make a difference to me. The store was clean. Good grocery store go here. read more

Well, you can see below what I used to to say about places I like. Today I get home and bring my groceries in and my bottle of wine is packed in 1 cheap plastic bag along with 4 other things. All heavy. I just reached in and grabbed it and the minute I lifted it out the bag broke and there goes my bottle of Beringer! They could care less. I would post pictures of the glass on my floor along with the wine. My Japanese Chin's ran through it and easily could have cut themselves in addition to the lost money and mess. This place is ok. It's not great or even all that good, but it's ok. They do have a decent meat counter, but there doesn't seem to be someone that is regularly there to help clients, at least not a true butcher or anyone that is really all that knowledgeable on the meat. There are good sales from time to time, but I found many of their prices to be a little (some more than a little) high. I am a journalman meat cutter, been shopping here for about 9 year but the last , I am gonna say 3 years ever since they had that Hispanic Mgr. He hides the meat from people like me that know what we're looking for. It's been like 6 time that I call and ask for the cry vac of of chuck eyes and blade roast and they tell me there out, but I see they already cut it out for the meat case. The worst thing is that I already told them already I am a meat cutter. I like to leave my money in mom and pops store , but like this I have no choice but to shop somewhere else like ( BUTCHER BOBS ) for my meats . Love to talk to the owner. read more

Needs a major remodel as it's unsafe to enter and exit the parking area. The whole area also smells bad. It looks like it's stuck in the 80's. My biggest complaint is how expensive everything is. How are we supposed to support our local businesses if it's not catering to the neighborhood? I always go to Walmart 15 min drive instead. read more

Great spot for fresh vegetables and the meat selection is nice. I shop here for all my bbq meats. The store appears neat and clean and the staff keeps the shelves stocked well. The beer is priced good too. It's a " corner" store but better than most!! Keep up the good work. read more

I normally LOVE this store and love most of there products and great prices. But just went right now and there sign said 4 for $10 Pepsi or coke product soda...that's all it says...went to check out and they said I had to spend $10 to get the deal! I said it does not say that on your sign! They told me it does in the AD, I told them i don't read the AD , I read your sign! I was told doesn't matter if it says it somewhere I have to do what the AD says! That's ridiculous! Then change your freakin sign! I argued and the customer was not right in this situation and the customer is always right...every employee in there ganged up on me and made me feel very uncomfortable!! I just walked out very mad! Very unprofessional and very rude! This store is around the corner from my house and might still go there when I ABSOLUTELY need to MAYBE but that really did it for me! Very unnecessary!! read more

My first time in the store I was reminded of the the store my grandmother used to shop in... Little, but eclectic... Beautiful fruits and veggies with excellent prices... Purchased the biggest chicken breasts I've ever seen at any store for 1.79 a pound.. 1.5 dozen eggs for .99... Great store for specific deals like 5 pd potatoes for .99.. Better quality fruits and veggies than most other large chain grocery stores....Always make sure to check the weekly flyer when I get ready for shopping.... read more

This is a small local grocery located off the main street in old buckeye. I go here for the sales on meat. That always what I end up walking out with. When they do have a good meat sale I go here. When you have a big meat eating family you have to go where the sales are. I do a walk around to see if there is anything else I can save on but usually find nothing. You can find the weekly ad on the internet before taking a drive out. Unless you live in phoenix there is one on 19th avenue and bethany I believe. Not too familiar with that one. read more

Kind of a dirty small place. Prices are very high. I only stopped here to get a yogurt for my son and it was thirty cents higher than Fry's. Not much of a selection. Clerk not particularly friendly. I wouldn't shop here regularly, that's for sure. read more

Eh. It's ok for what it is... I very old-timey little grocery store without much selection. The store never appears to have been updated. Everything about it is very old (including the clanky shopping carts just outside the front door - looked like there were about 10 of them total). Plus there is not a pleasant odor in there... I don't want to bad mouth it too much because it really is just a little grocery store that I will maybe hit up twice a year for an emergency item or something. I came here thinking it was a butcher shop. It's not. They had a tiny display area but no butcher there. It's more like a small grocery store from the 70s. It has everything you need though so if you're looking to buy staples in the area, they should carry it. Don't come here thinking you're going to get a butcher shop. Wonderful meat department. The meat specials on Thursdays are unbeatable. Their produce is also nice. Good place to shop sale items, otherwise it can be a bit overpriced. Great customer service, always friendly amd smiling. Manager Mike is awesome and helpful. read more

They are a small store and they have a wonderful selection of meats. To be honest better than a larger store.

Five stars for customer service. Something absent in many big box or chain stores. Small store maybe a little more expensive on regular items. Great specials. Especially meat and produce. I make it a point to support small local businesses but this place won me with customer service the first visit. So I'll pay a few extra pennies. This store was built in 1959. It has been upgraded ONCE. They don't have the space to expand. You can't put 10 pounds of anything in a 5 pound box. They don't have the huge selection you'll find at a SUPERmarket. It's that simple. So, while they don't have fancy carts, handicapped scooters, and miles of aisles, what they DO have is the best meat prices, and their specials are incredible. They cut all their own meat right at the store, and you'll taste the difference that freshness makes.Produce specials can't be beat either. Other merchandise, they can be a little higher than your mega-markets. They don't have the buying power of Walmart, for Pete's sake. So now, I grocery shop in 2 stores. I buy ALL of my meat and produce at the Butcher and the Farmer Market, plus whatever else may be on the weekly ad, then stop at Fry's on my way home for the rest. And the customer service? From the first time I walked in the door, I was greeted and taken to the meat counter where the specials are.. Want something cut differently? Ring the bell on the butcher counter and he'll come right out. To me, it's a lot like being back in the 50s and 60s again, when businesses actually worked at customer service to EARN your business, and yes, the store does look like its back in the 60s, but I'll take that for the incredible meat specials and great customer service any day! I have been shopping this store for over 8 years. I relocated from Pennsylvania to Arizona. I am use to shopping at butcher markets for my meats and procuce.This store is FANTASTIC!! Everyone from the cashiers to the stockers are friendly and go above and beyond to help you..their customer service is AWESOME. The meats are far more superior to any other market in the area and the PRICES are so much better too. BOTTOM LINE FRESH IS FRESH when it comes to their meats and produce. If i Could give lower stars I would. After spending all day trying to find somewhere to cash a MoneyGram Money order I decided to give Butcher The And The Farmer Market Place a call to see if they could. I was told I was able to so I went ahead and drove down there. After waiting a bit for someone to finally come help, they told me they could not cash it as it was not purchased their and they only cash MoneyGram Money Orders that have been directly purchased there. Why even list themselves as a place that cashes MoneyGram Money Orders if they do not really do it? Besides this not only were they completely rude but denied ever saying they would cash a MoneyGram Money order (Even though it is listed in MoneyGrams App and website as one of the only locations besides Walmart in buckeye who does it.) read more
